Throwback to our 2nd episode ever released on budget. This one feels extra timely now, as we prepare for travel interest to pick up in the coming months, it's important we have the ever important money talks with clients. Post-pandemic we'll have be diligent to educate our clients on why there won't be a ton of travel "deals" dropping and how travel pricing is based on supply + demand. With reschedules still to confirm, and a pent up demand, we'll be facing more challenges than usual. As always I'd love to hear from you, send me a DM @travelprotheory on the gram
Originally an IG live, this chat was about money and your business. Specifically when to spend vs when to bootstrap it in your business. Want to be a part of the next live? Make sure to follow @travelprotheory on IG.

This is an emotional one guys. Heather is taking a step back from TPT as she's now doing virtual school with her littles. So we decided to process and share the news on the pod. This ep has a few crying spells and, we even came up with some great industry ideas along the way.
On this ep I'm chatting with Korrine Johnson about mindset, flow, and trusting your gut in your business. We're encouraging you to stop grieving 2020, and start getting intentional for the path ahead of you. Kate here with some updates! Dropping a minisode to give you the scoop on the good stuff we've got going on this month. I'm doing a collab with Nikita Brown, Nicole Barrett and Korrine Johnson for a 5 day Client Attraction Challenge kicking off 10 August. Both Heather & I will be hosting a Think Tank for the Future Leaders in Travel Retreat on 31 August. We'll be talking about the future of the Supplier + Advisor relationship. Hope to see you at both!
This was recorded during the days of Corona, and we are talking about the future of the supplier + advisor relationship. Truthfully, this is going to be an ongoing convo, but here are our first thoughts. As always you can join the conversation @travelprotheory on instagram
It's our first episode in the time of Covid-19. We talked through a lot of listener questions/topics, things like how mentally deal with the tsunami of cancellations, should you pivot, what marketing language to use, and more. We will be releasing bundle #3 soon, and have another project in the works, please follow @travelprotheory on instagram to get updates.
In this ep we are talking about Independent Contractors. We go over alternative options, risks and how to decide if you are ready. As always you can reach us on IG @travelprotheory
This is all about how you go from those early days of working with anyone and everyone, to moving up to the next level of clients. Before bringing in any outside help, follow these steps: 1 - You become too busy. Identify what needs to change. 2 - Reevaluate your systems/process. How can you improve or what can you say no to. 3 - Rinse and repeat.
Everyone's fav topic - suppliers! We're talking about different types (even stumble onto a definition) and how they fit in with consortias or preferred lists.
In this one we are doing a bit of a wrap up for 2019 and talking about what's to come for 2020. As always we'd love to hear from you, find us on Instagram @travelprotheory
Doing it a little different this time! We're constantly talking things out in the background, so for this episode we went full freestyle. Here us riff on changes in the travel industry and talking out what changes we think are coming.
We are asked about hiring all the time, and while we don't claim to be the experts (we're in the thick of it now) as always we are happy to share. In this episode we talk out bringing on assistants and ICs. As always you can reach us on the gram @travelprotheory
It's incredibly easy to join our industry as a travel advisor. Too easy, in our opinion. We go over why having no barrier to entry is hurting all of us.
We are asked about fees all the time, so that's what this episode is all about. When to charge, how much to charge, we walk you through our thought process on this topic. We also touch on a bit of how operators work, as it relates to recent news of bigger names going under.
This one is all about fam trips and relationships! Note - I (Kate) get a smidge ranty at bits on this one. Please don't take it personally, I had just come off a bad experience and had some misdirected frustration. No intro or edits on this one, we recorded in a different studio with different software so is what it is peeps.
Another listener question ep! We were asked, what makes travelers buy? So we walk you through what we've learned over the years.
Another round of listener Q's - in this we cover how to handle weather issues, tangent a bit into social media and then also touch on how to handle issues on the ground.
Debating on starting a business? We go over what we wish we would have known, the challenges and how it impacts the rest of your life.
We're diving deep into Client Expectations, which is the name of the game. How to live up to the title of "advisor" and not order taker. We also touch on the supplier/advisor relationship and how that impacts your clients. Side note, a solid workflow can help with managing expectations. If you need one, pop on over to travelprotheory.com to snag Template Bundle 2.0.
This is an extension of the Listener Q's Vol 1 episode. We go into detail on getting destination/product education.
We've been getting in so many great questions from listeners so we're going to start covering them in the episodes (anonymously). In this episode we tackle the question of how did you get started in your business and how do you continue education. Do you have questions for us? Message us on IG @travelprotheory or email us hello@travelprotheory
Recorded at the end of 2018, we are going over the main services we use to make life a little easier and what is on our radar for 2019. Want help with workflow? Head to TravelProTheory.com where we have Template Bundle 2.0 available now.
You know, when your client decides that 20 other people need to read and weigh in on their itinerary, and suddenly you have a lot of work on your hands. This is the video we mention in the podcast https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bqPARIKHbN8
We break down why we want to encourage travelers to slow it down. Note -- there is a slight echo near the end, but we wanted to go ahead and post because done is better than perfect, and the content was great.
This one is all about budget. From all the reasons you need to get a budget from your clients and our tips to help you get there.
