You didn't start your business to undercharge and feel undervalued. But too many entrepreneurs price their services based on time, tasks, or what feels “reasonable,” especially when the work comes naturally. In this episode of The Encore Entrepreneur, we're breaking down how that mindset limits your business growth and why it's time to price based on the value and transformation you deliver. We'll explore how to reframe your pricing so it reflects your expertise, the outcomes you create, and the bigger impact you want to make. When you charge in alignment with the results you provide, not only do you build a more profitable business, but you also create more space to give back, support causes you care about, and serve your clients at a higher level. This isn't just about making money. It's about building a business that fuels your purpose. Schedule a call today! Click HERE to receive your free gift - Get Clients to Say "YES!" Struggling to attract coaching clients without sliding into DMs or relying on sleazy tactics? In this powerful podcast episode, you'll hear a raw and honest breakdown of how one coach built a thriving, high-profit business—without appointment setters, cold messages, or paid ads. Instead, it's all about authentic messaging, creating resonance through video content, and building a demand-driven ecosystem that actually feels good to run. If you're ready to ditch the burnout, lean into your zone of genius, and create a marketing strategy that truly aligns with your values, this episode is your roadmap. Tune in and discover how to grow a business that's not only profitable—but sustainable and you. “People pay for your unique perspectives, wisdom, and ability to challenge them. They're paying for speed, shortcuts, and someone who will push them towards their aspiring identity - something ChatGPT can't do.” Key points to focus on: Authenticity Beats Volume-Based Tactics: The speaker built a successful coaching business by ditching cold DMs, appointment setters, and high-pressure tactics. Effective Messaging is the Foundation: Clear, resonant messaging tailored to your ideal client is critical. Inbound Marketing Outperforms Cold Outreach: Shifting from outbound tactics to a value-first, inbound approach helped generate more qualified leads with far less stress. The key was compelling content that educates, connects, and converts. Content Strategy Should Be Structured and Diverse: The speaker uses a “conversion content campaign” system, paired with four content buckets—Connection, Influence, Authority, and Conversion—to consistently engage and convert their audience. People Pay for Perspective, Not Just Information: In the age of AI, knowledge is easily accessible. What sets coaches apart is their lived experience, co-creative ability, and unique perspectives. This human connection is what clients truly value. A High-Profit, Low-Overhead Model is Possible: By scaling down team size and focusing on high-impact strategies, the speaker improved their profit margins from ~30–40% to over 90%. Sustainable growth comes from alignment, not hustle. Podcast Notes Episode 470 Conversations That Get Clients Hosts: Brian Miller, PCC and Chad Hall, MCC Date: June 19, 2025 In this episode, Chad and Brian dive deep into the realities of getting coaching clients, debunking the myth that "if you build it, they will come." They explore the importance of having intentional conversations as the primary engine for building a coaching practice. Through personal insights and practical frameworks like the "cold, warm, hot" conversation model, the episode emphasizes authenticity, competence, and consistency as key ingredients in client acquisition. Key Highlights: Clients Don't Just Show Up: Unlike some professions like counseling, coaching requires active engagement and conversation to build visibility and trust. The Power of Being “Not Needy and Not Weird”: The most attractive coaches (and people) present themselves confidently and without desperation. The Cold-Warm-Hot Conversation Framework: Cold: Encouragement-based, genuine interest in others. Warm: Topic-based discussions showing competence. Hot: Proposal conversations aiming for a yes or no. Conversations Are the Funnel: Client relationships begin with small talk and evolve—coaching is fundamentally a relationship built through many meaningful interactions. Shift Your Mindset: Stop thinking like someone who wants to be hired and start operating like an equal engaging peers in thoughtful dialogue. Takeaways: Client acquisition is relational, not transactional. Coaches must consistently invest in genuine conversations to build trust over time. Being needy kills opportunities. Confidence and detachment from the outcome make you more attractive to potential clients. Encouragement is underrated. Starting relationships with encouragement creates warmth and opens doors for deeper discussions later. Warmth precedes depth. Coaches must first be skilled at shallow conversations before diving into deeper, transformational ones. Conversations are the marketing strategy. You don't need to be “in sales” to get clients—you need to connect meaningfully, regularly. Send us a textStudio owners, are you tired of running challenges that attract bargain-hunters instead of ideal members? Ever wonder why your "lose 10 pounds in 10 days" promotions bring in crowds but fail to convert to paying clients? The Fit to Great Cast tackles this common frustration head-on by redefining how fitness businesses should approach promotional challenges. Instead of random discounts or free offers that attract low-commitment participants, we explore a strategic framework built around emotional connection, clear outcomes, and quality filtering. At the core of this approach is understanding the psychographic traits of your ideal members – the people you actually want more of in your studio. By crafting challenges that address their specific pain points and desired outcomes, you create offers that resonate on a deeper level than generic weight loss promises. We examine how studios working with specialized populations (like high school athletes) can leverage this specificity to attract qualified prospects.Perhaps most revolutionary is the concept of the "lead challenge" – a paid offering priced at approximately one-third of your regular membership that serves as a quality filter. This modest investment immediately distinguishes serious prospects from freebie-seekers, positioning your services as valuable professional guidance rather than commodity workouts. Combined with a year-long themed campaign approach inspired by professional sports teams, this creates a cohesive promotional strategy that builds excitement rather than relying on urgency gimmicks.Whether you run a specialized boutique studio or manage multiple locations, these principles apply across the fitness industry. Stop discounting your value with free challenges and start creating promotional experiences that convert to loyal, paying members. The K9PT Academy Podcast: Business lessons for canine rehab therapists
Welcome to The K9PT Academy podcast, the only podcast in veterinary rehabilitation that focuses on helping business owners and entrepreneurs build and scale a profitable and successful canine rehabilitation business! The more strategy calls I do with canine rehabpreneurs from all over the world, the more I notice how many false beliefs we tend to tell ourselves when it comes to raising our fees and charging what we are worth. There are many reasons behind that, including cultural, emotional, and even the way we were each raised by our parents. However, one thing we need to keep in mind is that if almost everyone who we speak to on the phone is ready to book an eval right away then odds are we are significantly undercharging for our services! It is actually not good for our business to have a crazy high conversion rate from leads to evals because it actually shows that people have no pushback to how much we are charging, and we need to understand that a certain level of pushback is not only absolutely normal but kind of needed for us to know if we are at the right price point. Listen to the full episode as we discuss: If everyone says "yes" too easily, you're probably undercharging: A high conversion rate without any pushback often means your prices are too low and not reflecting your true value. Pushback is normal—and necessary—to validate your pricing: Expect and embrace some skepticism as part of the buying process. It helps ensure you're charging at a sustainable and profitable level. Skepticism is natural — your job is to educate and guide: Clients may initially doubt the value of rehab, but through education and relationship-building, you can move them from doubt to deep trust. Avoid the trap of “comfortable answers” when it comes to pricing: Relying on what "people are willing to pay" or comparing to local competitors keeps you stuck and undervalued. Shift to thinking about what your business needs. Clients will tell you they wish they found you sooner — focus on creating that experience: These powerful testimonials show that clients will pay for value once they see it. Use this as motivation to charge what you're worth and improve awareness through marketing and partnerships. Standing out is the key to moving past price objections: Differentiate yourself through your messaging, intake process, nurturing systems, and relationship-building to help clients see the unique experience you provide. Stop focusing on the few who push back and start focusing on the many who value you: Don't let occasional rejection hold you back from raising your rates and delivering higher value. Tracy and Debra dismantle this common fear among divorce coaches by showing how you can effectively support clients through financial challenges without overstepping your role.Financial uncertainty triggers our most basic survival fears—that's why money is almost always at the center of divorce conflict. According to government research, men's household income falls about 23% after divorce, while women experience a staggering 41% drop. No wonder financial anxiety runs so high! When clients worry about their ability to pay bills or put food on the table, their capacity to make sound decisions, negotiate fairly, or co-parent effectively becomes severely compromised. The podcast reveals how coaches can guide clients through creating monthly budgets—arguably the most powerful financial tool during divorce. This simple exercise answers the burning question: "Can I support myself?" Through relatable client stories like Martha (who discovered her post-divorce budget was actually half what she feared) and Mary (who reconsidered keeping the family home after seeing the long-term financial impact), Tracy and Debra demonstrate how helping clients gain financial clarity transforms fear into knowledge and powerlessness into control. They explore practical approaches to addressing income concerns, understanding the marital estate, and preparing clients for productive attorney consultations. Most importantly, they emphasize that coaches don't need calculators or financial certifications to make a difference—they just need to ask the right questions, guide clients through basic exercises, and connect them with specialists when needed.Ready to feel confident helping your divorce clients with financial foundations? One unwritten musical. Twelve courageous women. And stories that created healing beyond imagination. What if those detours in your life—the ones that seem like they're taking you off course—are actually preparing you for your true destiny? In this episode, I reveal how my journey as a storyteller began decades ago with a musical that was never produced, and how that seemingly "failed" project became the first stepping stone toward "Become Empowered"—a book that turned into a movement. Exactly one year ago today, "Become Empowered: Echoes of Grace and Strength" was released into the world—an anthology that has since created deep healing, unexpected reunions, and lasting impact in ways I never could have imagined. But the road to this book started over 30 years ago, when my husband challenged me to write a musical script that I thought I couldn't write. Join me as I share how reluctance turned into revelation, how each "failure" led to something greater, and how storytelling—first as an actress, then as a writer—became my purpose. Because we must become the person we are meant to be to live the life we are destined to live. This is a celebration of courage, healing, and the power of saying "yes" to your calling.
