So this week when he had some time to sit down and watch Transformers: War for Cybertron he was disappointed. (like your parents when they realized you were quitting college to be a podcaster) He then checked out the book The Land: Monsters by Aleron Kong, and was also disappointed. (like my wife when I come home from Target with GI Joe action figures). Finally he put on the show Cursed and was slightly less disappointed, so he took that as a win. Otherwise we've got some news, and Greg kinda liked Transformers so its not all negative. While trapped on furlough in the Vacation Home, we visit three brand new experiences at Epcot and Disney's Hollywood Studios! And for the first time ever, you don't have to plug your kid's ears while listening to Jonathan Coulton's Seasonal Classic, 'First of May' although you might want to plug your own, because I brought it up to date for the modern, Social Distancing era with my own wonderful yet awful singing
But one weekend in October 2013, a series of unfortunate events changed her life forever. On her way home from Canberra, early one morning, she was involved in not one but two car accidents within just a few kilometres of each other. As a result, she was paralysed down the right side of her body. Six years since her accident, Samantha is a totally different woman but her recovery didn’t happen overnight. An unlikely fascination with knitting not only turned her life around, it’s influencing other people too.

Faerie Changelings and Abductions - Part 2Leave your knocking knees at the door, Kitty is here to talk about the real Faeries: The Good People, The Wee Folk or the Sidhe.Faerie of traditional Irish Faerie Folklore sit guardian over our Natural World and are in feckin torment at the many ways we harm our environment. They are all around us and watching, always watching. But what are they thinking? Are they impressed at our efforts to recycle, upcycle and downcycle or would they gladly send us all to landfill? Should we worry about what they might do? *In this episode, Kitty takes a realistic look at what motivated a loving Grandmother to employ a woman expert in Faerie Knowledge and remedies, to rid a sickly 4 year old boy of a ‘Faerie Changeling’. A fateful decision which resulted in the worst possible outcome. Was this a case or murder, incompetence or absolute faith? We ponder why some people daydream of being abducted by the Good People while others are terrified at the notion. And wonder what do the Good People do with Humans they abduct. Are we used to serve, or entertain, the Good People or, shock horror, is it possible they need us to reproduce? Kitty throws a few new theories in the ring and asks if there is a higher purpose to these abductions? Could it be a meeting of minds, the Good People seeking Humans out for to counsel or warn? And as always, Kitty explains why it’s okay to believe in Faeries. To read more stories of encounters with the Good People, share your own story of an encounter, perhaps one handed down through your family, or just an unusual experience on a visit to Ireland at:www.encounterswiththegoodpeople.comglassonionstories@gmail.comwww.facebook.com/encounterswiththegoodpeopleCredits:Excerpt from 'The Land of Heart's Desire' by WB Yeats. This week on A Waste of Time with ItsTheReal, we hit the West Coast to speak with one of Los Angeles' greatest cheerleaders, the founder of the popular music website Passion of the Weiss and the heartbeat of TheLAnd Magazine, writer and editor Jeff Weiss! Jeff details what sparked the boycott of LA Weekly, the history of alt newspapers in the United States, what local journalism means in 2019, and why he and so many others have chosen to put their entireties into launching a new publication that speaks the language of his city. We get into his family's long roots in California, his affinity for the Beat Generation, growing up on West Coast rap, writing about Kendrick Lamar and 03 Greedo at the beginnings of their careers, as well as Snoop Dogg on the eve of getting his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. We discuss Jeff's work in documenting Lil Boosie's trial and the greater goings on in Baton Rouge, his history playing baseball and how a .360 batting average got him a writing job, how he ended up in feuds of different degrees with Magic Johnson, Post Malone and Deer Hunter, and the project closest to his heart that currently sits in his desk drawer. Happy Holidays RT Fam … on this edition we have who Channing calls “The most googled person of 2018.” Whether that is not true or not, Tristan Thompson is the lucky guest for CLE and it begins the only way Channing and TT would know how … breaking down Canadian bacon. Yes, tis true. The duo along with J Mike and Angel then are surprised by Jordan Clarkson (yet again) as they talk more NBA around the league, the state of the Cavs currently & plenty more. Like most who spent time in CLE, the guys talk how upset G Hill, a recent RT guest as well, really was when told he was headed out of #TheLand along with a round of rapid fire questions. What if anything would TT change about himself? Take a listen for yourself. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
This talk is beautiful. Papa Siama and Auntie Dallas are beautiful people. I could tell through the phone. I loved hearing about how Papa Siama got his start playing guitar and coming to America. I really love the song, 'Ko Yimbi Ko' that you hear a clip of at the beginning of the show. Listen closely for the thumb piano! You can hear the whole song at the end of the episode. There was a lot of love going both ways during this chat and I think that you'll feel the authenticity coming from Papa Siama and Auntie Dallas and that you'll feel the love too! Be sure to check out their new album 'The Land of Yangalele'. Continue reading Episode #146 – Papa Siama and Auntie Dallas on the site.
