In the midst of the turmoil is Jesse, an 11-year-old girl, and her dog, Sandor, who is devoted to her and her protection. One year after the incident, Jesse and Sandor begin a cross-country journey to find Jesse's half-brother, Adam, who is living in San Francisco. Next Week: It’s Andy Wilson Month! This Week: Elmer is a window into a world where chickens have suddenly acquired the intelligence and consciousness of humans, where they can now consider themselves a race no different than browns, black, or whites. Recognizing themselves to be sentient, the inexplicably evolved chickens push to attain rights for themselves as the newest members of the human race. Originally self-published by the author in the Philippines, this is the first US edition of the book. Next Week: We finish our month of animal books with Animosity. It was a great week for dogs in comics this week. Especially teleporting giant dogs. And dogs who can fuse bodies with humans. Also, a great week for having sex with beautiful cat men! Overall it was a very good week in comics, so to celebrate we recorded a slightly above average episode of Serious Issues! We also recorded a 70 minute Q&A episode today too! Siobhan's a mum now! Congrats Shinbone (and Mr Shinbone and Shinbone Jr)! For the first week of her podcast maternity, Siobhan is replaced by the oracle of Serious Issues, the guy we always yell questions at while we record, Jim Papagrigoriou! After working at Kings Comics for more than 20 years, Jim is more than qualified to review this week's onslaught of number one issues, before leaving Levins to review 30 regular issues all by himself. Does Levins make it to the end of the episode without going completely mad? Tune in to find out.
