In this inaugural issue, we find a captain of the Royal Guard fleeing her capital city with the realm's queen, on their way to a mythical land called Isola. But appearances can be deceiving, and the initial journey unfolds under the cloud of an evil spell that leaves us with more questions than answers. On this episode, Derek talks with Karl and Brenden about what transpires in this first issue, how long they've been nurturing this concept, their process of collaboration, and what we might expect in future issues…at least, as much as they could tell without spoiling anything. The two also share some of their experiences working on their other series, such as Motor Crush, Gotham Academy, Batgirl, and The Abominable Charles Christopher.

Lasst euch also mal überraschen, was in den nächsten Monaten vielleicht noch so kommt. Wenn ihr also auf die Beschreibung passt, dann lasst doch mal von euch hören :) Timecodes: [00:00:00] - Intro [00:00:21] - Einleitung [00:06:32] - Sex & Crime Comic Bundle [00:12:38] - Halloween Comicfest 2017 [00:18:31] - HCF 2017 - Shiver [00:26:28] - HCF 2017 - Thor by Simonson #1 [00:28:34] - HCF 2017 - Batman: Night of the Monster Men [00:31:50] - HCF 2017 - Ghostbusters: Dia De Los Muertos [00:38:41] - HCF 2017 - Grimm Tales of Terror [00:41:57] - HCF 2017 - Black Betty One-Shot [00:43:32] - HCF 2017 - Babyteeth #1 [00:49:26] - HCF 2017 - Hellboy and the B.P.R.D 1953 [00:54:26] - HCF 2017 - Lady Mechanika: La Dama De La Muerte [00:59:26] - HCF 2017 - Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, Season 2 [01:03:10] - HCF 2017 - Archie's Mad House Returns [01:03:58] - Das aktuelle Archie-Universum [01:08:28] - Shirtless Bear-Fighter #4 (Image Comics) [01:12:27] - Harley & Ivy meet Betty & Veronica #1/#2 (DC Comics) [01:16:50] - Motor Crush #6/#7 (Image Comics) [01:23:06] - Batman: White Knight #1 (DC Comics) [01:28:08] - Alone (Gallery 13) [01:34:30] - Skin & Earth #1 - #4 (Dynamite) [01:41:01] - Siúil, a Rún Band 1 (TokyoPop) [01:46:52] - No.1 With A Bullet #1 (Image Comics) [01:52:19] - Dragon Ball Band 17-20 (Carlsen Comics) [01:55:30] - The Infinite Loop: Nothing but the Truth #1 (IDW) [02:01:15] - Kill or be killed TPB 1/2 (Image Comics) [02:08:25] - Verabschiedung [02:10:39] - Outro [02:10:50] - Information zum Podcast Intro/Outro: Auszüge aus dem Song "Crazy Glue" von Josh Woodward.

The Joy of Geek Podcast, Special Edition: 3rd Annual San Diego Comic-Con 2017 Extravaganza On this very special episode of The Joy of Geek Podcast, we (Rich and Kevin) take a whirlwind tour through this year's San Diego Comic-Con to discuss all the latest news, trailers and announcements from the convention. From the latest Justice League trailer and DC's ridiculously large slate of announced films, to the new trailers for Defenders and Inhumans over at Marvel, this year's SDCC provided us with a generous supply of pop-culture fodder to dive into and discuss.  In addition to the news coming out of Marvel and DC, this year's event featured some groundbreaking trailers for comics-adjacent properties, including Bright, Ready Player One and Star Trek Discovery (to name a few). We offer our thoughts on those trailers, manage to squeeze in some SDCC news items that are actually about comic books, and share some of the best books we've been reading lately, including Clean Room, Motor Crush, lots of new DC Rebirth titles, and more. So join us, as we dodge and weave our way through the year's biggest pop-culture extravaganza, and celebrate the fine art of superhero movie trailers. This...is the Joy of Geek!

Welcome to this week’s issue of Comictating for the week of 12/7/2016! Kris and Sebastian will be discussing the brand-new series Motor Crush, a high-octane adventure starring Domino Swift. By day she is a motorcycle racer; by night she takes on rival gangs in pursuit of a narcotic called The Crush. From the same throbbing vein as The Mask and The Tick comes Slapstick #1, the teen-turned-living-cartoon who aims to strike it out in the big city. Sam Alexander thought he was the last member of the Nova Corps, until the return of Rich Rider in Nova #1. Sometimes he’s a skull, sometimes he’s a ghost. No, he’s not a skost, he’s Robbie Reyes, aka Ghost Rider, and he’s going to make a few friends. From the pages of Darth Vader comes the new fan-favorite in her own archaeological adventure alongside the demented droids 0-0-0 and BT-1. See Doctor Aphra in Star Wars: Doctor Aphra #1!
