When I was little there were a pair of twins in my Mom's Sunday school class. They were kinda wild and my Mom, not wanting to blame the wrong one when disciplining them, would secretly find some way to "accidentally" mark one of them with a magic marker right at the beginning of class so she'd know them apart. When their Mom asked my Mom about it, my Mom timidly admitted to the deed...and their Mom called her a genius. They then started letting the other one know who was marked and where. Bobby Timony is a twin. Let's take it from there. Follow Our Patreon Community! https://www.patreon.com/c/randomactsofcomicspodcast

ReedPOP’s Emerald City Comic Con once again takes over the immense WA State Convention Center in Seattle, attracting tens of thousands of comic book and pop culture fans from across the globe, by showcasing some of the best creative talents there is to offer – our correspondent on the ground, Samantha Maybe, has been very lucky to be invited along as Press, meaning she's got the chance to speak one-on-one with members of this outstanding creative melting pot. Here at The Convention Collective, we really like THE SEQUELS. Like, *really* like THE SEQUELS! Published by Fanbase Press, written by Norm Harper, with art by Val Halvorson and Bobby Timony, it has been ticking all of our boxes in terms of '80s nostalgia, sci-fi, horror and action tropes and a wonderful sense of empowerment and self-analysis that you don't often find in modern comics. (Seriously, we've flipped for this book: do check out Samantha Maybe's reviews for Issues #1 and #2, here http://theconventioncollective.com/sandbox/the-sequels-1-holy-80s-nostalgia-batman, and here http://theconventioncollective.com/sandbox/the-sequels-2-review-testing-the-limits-of-friendship-in-space) At Emerald City Comic Con, Samantha was given the chance to talk to writer Norm Harper about the book, about what drove him to write it, about the methods he took to tackling some of the more fundamental underpinnings of THE SEQUELS in terms of how it deals with mental health, and what he has in store for the book down the line as well as his upcoming book, HAPHAVEN. It's a great chat and we hope you enjoy... Thanks to Norm for taking time out of his busy con, and to Samantha for bringing the interview to us…
This week the Two Gay Geeks have a round table discussion with three of the creatives behind The Sequels. We chat with Norm Harper, writer, Val Halvorson and Bobby Timony, Illustrators for the Sequels to be released by Fanbase Press. We discuss how each got into the comic book industry and their roles in creating the Sequels. About the Sequels Remember the ‘80s? Avery, Gwen, Russell, and Dakota will never forget. As children, they each experienced unique adventures . . . saving the life of a sentient robot, partying with an intergalactic alien, battling the likes of vampires and werewolves, and defeating a nightmarish monster to protect imagination itself. Now, 30 years later, they’re directionless adults, still obsessed with their pasts. When a mysterious figure brings the group together to cope with their experiences, will they be prepared to live out the "sequels" to their childhood adventures? Order yours here.
