Who perpetrated this vast, real-life conspiracy, and how were they caught? Join Ben and his returning special guest, CarStuff's Scott Benjamin, as they explore the strange, twisting tale of Volkswagen's attempt to swindle the public, exposing a genuine conspiracy and asking, perhaps most importantly: What happens next? They don't want you to read our book.: https://static.macmillan.com/static/fib/stuff-you-should-read/See omny.fm/listener for privacy information.

Farts are also universal, but that's just an observation and has nothing to do with the episode. Ben is a LEGEND in the podcasting space and host of Stuff They Don't Want You to Know, Ridiculous History, and CarStuff. You can find more of him on Instagram and Twitter. E17 | Was it worth it to buy a 403,000 miles (648,000 km) 2010 Prius from its first owner? Grab the 8 Point Checklist: What to check on a 2004-2009 TOYOTA Prius to save $$$ and find out where can the water get into the Gen2 Prius' trunk as a bonus: www.priuspodcast.com No.1.: These cars are not new, and likely the tires on them will be a few years old as well. Search for the 4 digit code on the tires such as "2315", meaning the tire was made in the 23rd week of 2015. If the tires are more than 5 years old, they should be changed. A new set of 195/55 R16 tires (factory size for the gen2 Prius in Europe) can be costly ($400-$700) due to its rare size. If they should be changed, you could negotiate a new set of tires or ask for a lower price.
