This week on Wrestling Omakase we talk a trio of big shows from big companies! But first, John REALLY doesn't want to talk about what just happened to the Toronto Blue Jays, but for some reason returning guest Arametha insisted, so there's that. Also there's a little bit of talk about everyone's favorite subject, AMERICAN POLITICS! Yeah! And some other stuff too, who even knows at this point. Probably the Japan trip I'm guessing. The first real topic of the show though is STARDOM (as usual), as they talk about the Crimson Nightmare show that took place on Monday 11/3 from Ota Ward Gym. John & Arametha do things a little backward here as they first discuss what's coming up in STARDOM next, mainly with the two Saya Kamitani title matches announced for Dream Queendom and Wrestle Kingdom. John gives their case for why Saya might actually lose to Saori Anou, despite what current conventional wisdom would seem to have you believe. Then they get into a full review of the show featuring a very controversial Saya vs. Momo Watanabe main event, the end of Starlight Kid's epic white belt reign, yet another High Speed title defense for Mei Seira and more. Finally, they wrap up the STARDOM portion with a look ahead to the upcoming Goddesses of STARDOM Tag League that kicks off in just a couple days, giving some early picks for who might make it out of each block and even win the entire thing.Next up they head over to New Japan and again do things kind of backwards, first looking ahead to the upcoming World Tag League and giving the thoughts on the (kind of hilarious!) field of competitors. Then they review the top matches from the Hiroshi Tanahashi Homecoming show on 11/2 from Gifu, discussing the finals of the world's most pointless tournament that apparently made everyone except John really mad, Tanahashi having one more great match against Yota Tsuji in his hometown, how we somehow STILL don't know who Tana's retirement opponent will be, and a Takeshita main event that John almost skipped right over. The last but certainly not least slot goes to DDT for their annual Ultimate Party show, also from 11/3 at Ryogoku. John & Arametha break down the entire ten match card in detail, discussing some truly funny comedy, a lot of fun matches, and the good vibes around this promotion right now in general. They also speculate a little on what might be coming next with the tease of Takeshita vs. Takechi, and look ahead to some future cards in general. Yet another packed show!Fill out this form if you're interested in appearing on our Wrestle Kingdom Week preview show: https://forms.gle/PoTPsfetRribc4Av9Follow Wrestling Omakase on Twitter: http://twitter.com/wrestleomakaseFollow John on BlueSky: https://bsky.app/profile/justoneenby.bsky.socialAdvertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy

A wild police pursuit tore through downtown L.A. as an assault suspect on a motorcycle weaved dangerously in and out of traffic. In South L.A., police arrested a woman after discovering a body inside a car at a tow yard. At Dodger Stadium, one four-legged fan stole the spotlight — Tiger Rocco, the dog whose owner runs the Palm Springs Dodgers Nation Fan Club. Meanwhile, a San Ramon jewelry store robbery suspect had bail set at a staggering $8 million. For most of us, things like electricity, water, and gas are some of the most essential things in our lives. Over the last few decades, many of us have added high-speed Internet to that list. We've reached the point where the speed and stability of our connection are most important. With all the devices and all of the streaming we do, we need something dependable and very fast in our neighborhood. We've had a few options over the years. Some are good, some not so much. But for the last few years, there have been rumors that Google Fiber was coming to our neighborhood. And from what I saw yesterday, it looks like they're here... Shawn O'Malley and Daniel Mahncke break down Ferrari (ticker: RACE), a company whose stock is arguably just as impressive as its high-performance and ultra-luxury vehicles. By global automotive standards, Ferrari hardly has any sales volumes, selling about 14,000 cars a year, yet these vehicles come with such premium price tags that the company can reasonably command a $90 billion market valuation still. IN THIS EPISODE, YOU'LL LEARN 00:00 – Intro 09:27 - Why Ferrari obsesses over keeping supply below demand. 11:45 - Why Ferrari is more like Hérmes than Porsche. 16:27 - Ferrari's response to the hybrid and EV movements. 30:35 - What makes Ferrari special amongst even other ultra-luxury vehicle makers. 33:53 - What it actually takes to buy a Ferrari, and how Ferrari chooses its customers. 42:40 - How Ferrari has created a long-term ownership culture amongst its clients, similar to the mindset among shareholders of Berkshire Hathaway. 48:05 - How to think about modeling RACE's intrinsic value. 57:45 - The creative ways Ferrari has leveraged its IP to sell cars at higher and higher prices. 01:04:28 - Whether Shawn and Daniel add RACE to their Intrinsic Value Portfolio. *Disclaimer: Slight timestamp discrepancies may occur due to podcast platform differences. National Broadband Ireland (NBI), the company responsible for delivering the Government's National Broadband Plan (NBP), has announced that over 400,000 homes, farms and businesses in the State's Intervention Area can now connect to high-speed broadband.?This follows a decision earlier this year to accelerate delivery to an additional 65,000 homes, farms and businesses, bringing forward access to high-speed broadband for communities across rural Ireland. NBI has achieved the milestone ahead of schedule, meaning the company is now on course to surpass its 2025 target of 420,000 premises passed. When a premises is passed, an order can be placed to connect to high-speed fibre broadband on the NBI Network. People living and working in rural Ireland can enter their Eircode on the NBI website, www.nbi.ie, to see if their home or business is included in the rollout and how to get connected. With more than 50 broadband providers actively selling on NBI's open-access network, rural communities now have access to the same level of competition and choice as those in urban areas. Customers can select from a wide range of internet providers, with competitive pricing and bundled packages available nationwide. The rollout is already delivering meaningful impact with over 140,000 premises already connected. Take-up rates average 35% and continue to climb, approaching 60% in areas where the network has been live the longest, such as the rural areas near Athlone, Castlebar and Emyvale. Fibre broadband is also available to order on 19 islands, including Achill Islan,d where the first homes and businesses began connecting in June. Independent research continues to highlight the real-world impact of the National Broadband Plan such as improved quality of life and better access to essential services as well as stronger digital capacity for rural businesses. Minister for Culture, Communications and Sport, Patrick O'Donovan, T.D. said: "The advent of rural broadband has been truly transformative, not only bridging the digital divide, but also breathing new life into once isolated communities. Even the most remote parts of our country now have the opportunity to sustain local businesses, educate their children, and preserve a way of life in a modern, connected world." "National Broadband Ireland is playing an instrumental role in delivering one of the most ambitious infrastructure projects in the history of the State. Great credit is due to NBI, its leadership, contractors, and the men and women on the ground who are making this happen. They are ensuring that every home, farm and business, no matter how remote, has access to the kind of connectivity that levels the playing field and unlocks opportunity for all." TJ Malone, Chief Executive Officer, National Broadband Ireland, said: "Passing 400,000 premises marks another major step forward in the delivery of the National Broadband Plan. Every week, thousands more premises are being made ready for service, and the level of interest and demand we're seeing is remarkable. As the rollout progresses, the full potential of a connected rural Ireland is becoming increasingly clear. "This progress reflects the tireless work of our build partners, engineering teams and broadband providers across the country. It also wouldn't be possible without the support and leadership of the Government, which has made a long-term commitment to connecting every part of Ireland and ensuring no one is left behind in the digital age." There are currently 564,000 premises included in the NBP Intervention Area, up from 537,000 premises at the time of contract award. Progress update as of 20.08.2025: The number of premises passed, and which can connect to NBI's fibre network, is 400,147. 140,592 premises are already connected. The average take-rate is 35%. Take-up is approaching 60% where services have been available for longer. 100% of surveying works are complete, and all remaining premises are now in the construction phase. 95...

On this week's show we take a look at the pros and cons of Low Earth Orbiting Satellites and ask if competition from them could lower your Internet bills. One of our listeners does a good analysis of what it would cost cordcutters to watch every NFL and most College football games. We also read your emails and take a look at the week's news. News: Hulu App to Be Phased Out as Disney Is ‘Fully Integrating' Service Into Disney+ Fubo drops 100,000 subscribers in Q2 HBO Max to enforce password-sharing crackdown in Sept. Fubo readying sports-only plan for 2025 season Amazon Launches 24 Satellites Aboard SpaceX Rocket to Build Its Home Internet Service Other: dbx 510 Subharmonic Synthesizer for Creating Amazing Deep Bass in Your Home Theater LEO (Low Earth Orbit) Satellite Internet On a recent show we talked about High Speed internet eliminating the need for over the air broadcasting. However we understand that not everyone has access to high speed internet. We mentioned Low Earth Obiting (LEO) satellites as an option. With the news that Amazon has begun putting it's network together, we decided to look at the pros and cons of this type of Internet delivery. LEO satellite internet, like Starlink and the upcoming Amazon Project Kuiper, offers several advantages over traditional satellite based internet. Here's a comparison of the benefits: Benefits of LEO-Based Internet Lower Latency: LEO satellites orbit at 200-2,000 km, much closer than geostationary satellites (35,786 km). This reduces round-trip data travel time, resulting in latency of 20-50 ms compared to 600+ ms for geostationary systems. Benefit: Faster response times for gaming, video calls, and real-time applications, closer to terrestrial fiber (10-30 ms). Global Coverage: LEO constellations, with thousands of satellites, provide internet to remote and rural areas where terrestrial infrastructure (fiber, DSL) is unavailable or costly to deploy. Benefit: Connects underserved regions, ships, planes, and isolated locations. Higher Speeds: LEO systems can deliver download speeds of 100-400 Mbps (with potential for more as technology improves) and upload speeds of 10-40 Mbps, rivaling or exceeding many terrestrial broadband connections. Benefit: Supports streaming, large downloads, and multiple users simultaneously. Scalability: LEO constellations can add more satellites to increase capacity and coverage, adapting to demand more flexibly than laying new cables or building cell towers. Benefit: Easier to expand and improve network performance over time. Resilience: Distributed satellite networks are less vulnerable to single points of failure (e.g., damaged cables or local outages) compared to terrestrial infrastructure. Benefit: More reliable in disaster-prone areas or during natural events. Portability: LEO user terminals (e.g., Starlink dishes) are compact and can be set up anywhere with a clear sky view, enabling mobile or temporary use. Benefit: Ideal for travelers, RVs, or temporary sites like construction zones. Limitations of LEO Internet Compared to Traditional Internet: Cost: LEO internet often requires expensive user equipment (e.g., $300-$600 for a Starlink dish) and monthly subscriptions ($50-$150, depending on region/plan). Traditional internet typically has lower upfront costs (e.g., modem/router) and competitive pricing in urban areas. Weather Sensitivity: LEO signals can be affected by heavy rain, snow, or dense cloud cover, though less severely than geostationary systems. Traditional fiber or cable is generally immune to weather-related disruptions. Network Congestion: In high-density areas, LEO systems may experience reduced speeds if too many users connect to the same satellite or ground station. Traditional broadband, especially fiber, often handles high user density better in urban settings. Line-of-Sight Requirement: LEO terminals need a clear view of the sky, which can be challenging in dense urban areas or locations with tall trees/buildings. Traditional internet (e.g., cable, fiber) doesn't require line-of-sight. Data Caps and Throttling: Some LEO providers impose data caps or throttle speeds during peak usage, whereas many traditional ISPs offer unlimited plans in urban areas. Benefit to traditional: More predictable performance for heavy users. Summary LEO-based internet excels in global reach, low latency, and flexibility, making it a game-changer for remote areas, mobility, and disaster resilience. However, traditional internet (fiber, cable, DSL) often provides lower costs, higher reliability, and better performance in urban areas with established infrastructure. The choice depends on location, use case, and budget, at least for now.

We've received several requests to update our low/full-speed USB isolator breakout, which used the ADUM4160. Low speed is for peripherals like mice and keyboards, where bandwidth demands are minimal. Full speed suits microcontrollers, audio interfaces, and simple USB accessories. High speed is needed for flash drives, video devices, data acquisition units, and external disks. Unsurprisingly, there's demand for high-speed isolation. We're now exploring USB isolation ICs that support high-speed performance. Stay tuned! Formula 1 is the highest level of motorsport, with cars hitting speeds of over 200 miles per hour and teams making split-second, high-stakes decisions behind the scenes. Now the drama of this sport is coming to the big screen, with the new Apple Original film F1 The Movie, starring actors Brad Pitt and Damson Idris, in theaters June 27. Director Joseph Kosinski and producer Jerry Bruckheimer wanted to make it the most authentic car-racing movie possible, and they shot real F1 races, incorporating those scenes into the film. They sat down with Apple News In Conversation host Shumita Basu to talk about bringing the world of F1 to life.

#CA: HIGH SPEED FAILURE. BILL WHELAN, HOOVER 1917 TURKEY
Tom Clarkson is joined in the Jeddah paddock by Alpine Test and Reserve Driver Paul Aron to preview this weekend's Saudi Arabian Grand Prix. What challenges does this circuit provide drivers and teams? Are McLaren still the clear favourites? Or could we see another Suzuka-esque surprise from Max Verstappen? With just three points between championship leader Lando Norris and his teammate Oscar Piastri, Paul draws on his own experience from Formula 2 to explain how being the hunted compares to being the hunter in a title fight. Paul also raced against most of this year's rookies in F2 last year so shares his thoughts on how Kimi Antonelli, Ollie Bearman, Isack Hadjar, Gabriel Bortoleto and Jack Doohan are performing so far. And he tells Tom why Alpine were able to score their first points of the season in Bahrain and how Pierre Gasly has stepped up as team leader this season. *** WIN A £100 F1® STORE VOUCHER, A LEGO F1® COLLECTION BUNDLE + MORE THIS EASTER WITH F1 UNLOCKED Thanks to F1 Unlocked, you can win an amazing F1® Partner prize bundle, which includes: £100 F1® Store voucher, 2025 Miami Grand Prix poster, Puma F1® Racing Jacket, Hot Wheels F1® diecast bundle and a LEGO F1® collection bundle Don't miss out on this exciting opportunity.
