Pull up a seat and join us at the campfire as we dive deep into the wild world of hunting, fishing, and the art of outdoor cooking with Victoria Tori Loomis - a Beretta ambassador, a gourmet game chef, and the brains behind the Gathering Girl. An adventurous spirit, Tori shares her remarkable transformation journey from a vegetarian to an ardent hunter and fisher after returning from culinary school. Listen to her enthralling stories about hunting and fishing experiences that brought her closer to nature and revitalized her sense of life. You'll get to hear our co-host, Chris Cantrell, and myself reflect on our personal memories of bass fishing, and Tori's triumphant first catch on a fly rod.We venture into the realm of binoculars and how the right tools can significantly enhance your hunting adventures. Tori's fascinating narrative of transitioning from using regular binoculars to those with range finders offers invaluable insights for both seasoned hunters and novices. Our conversation takes an even more exciting turn as we discuss cooking wild game. Ever wondered about the dangers of consuming too much rabbit or the intricacies of cooking a rabbit pot pie with bone broth and cornbread? Tori's got you covered. Navigating the complex world of hunting and fishing regulations can be daunting. We highlight the importance of understanding these rules to ensure a safe and enjoyable outdoor experience. Ending on a delicious note, we explore Johnny cakes, the revered southern delicacy, its origin, and the history behind it. The episode takes you through a whirlwind of hunting, fishing, cooking, and the connections they promote with the great outdoors. Wrap yourself in a warm blanket, grab a cup of coffee, and join us on this wild ride.Find Josh on Instagram or Twitter.Presented by:Spoke Hollow Outdoors - find them on Instagram or Facebook. For more great BunkHaus content, check out:BunkHausPodcast.com | Youtube | Instagram

In this annual episode of The SXS Guys Offroad Podcast, I reach out to people all across our industry for gift ideas for the offroad community for the 2022 Holiday Gift Guide. Typically, this is a guide that we put together ourselves and then expand upon, but I though it would be fun to get different perspectives. We have guests from racers to media personalities, vloggers to manufacturers, installers to desert pre-runners. If you need a gift idea for the offroader in your life (even if that means for yourself), this is the episode for you! This week the Crew begins a series of discussions on being godly fathers. Welcomed into the Undisclosed Location is our own Easy Target's dad, Chris Cantrell, father of three adult children and five grandchildren, and a long time pastor who brings a balancing experience to this journey into fatherhood. In part one the men reflect back on what they remember about their own fathers while growing up and what they all hope their own children will remember about them as dads. Drawing down on some key qualities every good (but not perfect) dad should possess: Genuineness, Patience, Teachability, and Faith. A special thank you to our friend Bruce Frye for the theme song, "Heart of a Champion." You can find more of Bruce Frye's music and ministry at Bruce Frye Ministries - Singer, Songwriter & Evangelist | Online Christian Music and Book Store Also, we welcome your emails at codeofmangen127@gmail.com

Chris Cantrell will attempt to run 100 miles on a treadmill between December 26th-28th 2017 in the We Run store located in Cedar Rapids Iowa. Chris is a member of Team Red, White & Blue who have teamed up with the Alzheimer's Association to raise money for Alzheimer's research in a first of its kind event in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
In Episode 20, we're taking a look at CMON's latest big release: Massive Darkness! It's a big box, co-operative dungeon crawl that attempts to inject a few new ideas into the genre while still retaining the simplicity of earlier games like Zombicide. Does it work? Is there any fun to be had? We discuss! Also on the menu are our spoiler-free thoughts on the latest season of Game of Thrones, along with some of the news that excited us most out of this year's GenCon. Episode 9, the one where we try to stay calm while engaged in submarine warfare (and fail)! Captain Sonar is a real-time, team game for 2-8 players, and we weigh in on whether it's great fun on just great stress. Our Music With Boardgames segment included some great fan suggestions, though it should be noted that the sonar soundbite used in the podcast is not from the YouTube video originally linked to us; the original creeped Robert out too much! Joe extends his thanks to Chris Cantrell (of Riot Games) after receiving a resolution on his defective crystal (from Mechs Vs Minions). We also had the opportunity to play the older (and sadly now out of print) WarHammer 40k strategy game Forbidden Stars (from Fantasy Flight Games) and give our initial impressions. Rum & Bones: Second Tide (Cool Mini Or Not) is arriving in the mail and we gave the core box a quick spin. Also from CMON, our Arcadia Quest: Inferno kickstarter arrived in one giant shipment, and we're plugging our way through the new campaign therein. Finally, Joe saw The Great Wall: the movie where Matt Damon fights monsters on the Great Wall of China. It's a thing. 0:02:20 - Forbidden Stars 0:09:28 - Rum & Bones: Second Tide 0:12:29 - The Great Wall 0:18:12 - Arcadia Quest: Inferno 0:20:05 - Captain Sonar - Intro 0:22:42 - Captain Sonar - The Story 0:25:48 - Captain Sonar - The Rules 0:30:00 - Captain Sonar - Initial Gameplay Thoughts 0:36:12 - Captain Sonar - Theme & Components 0:47:37 - Captain Sonar - Gameplay & Mechanics 0:56:13 - Captain Sonar - What we didn't like.. 1:11:46 - Captain Sonar - Final Thoughts 1:17:12 - Music With Board Games: Captain Sonar We can also be reached at: Email: boardgameandgeekout@gmail.com Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/boardgameandgeekout/ Twitter: @boardgameandgo Download this and other episodes via: iTunes Google Play Libsyn RSS Have fun and stay geeky!
