Taking a look at the odds for Super Bowl 56 MVP. Which players on the Los Angeles Rams and Cincinnati Bengals can win the award? Cooper Kupp might be almost as likely as Matthew Stafford to be Super Bowl MVP. If the Bengals win the Super Bowl and Joe Burrow doesn't get the award, a Cincinnnati defensive player could win MVP. Plus, a look at some 2022 NBA playoff futures. The Chicago Bulls and Philadelphia 76ers aren't the postseason locks that some might think.
In this episode, we're joined by two photographers who work in medium format, Caroline Bell and Bruce Bennett. Bell is joining as a guest host. Bennett was in town for his latest photo series, Love II, which was on view at the Weston Art Gallery from Nov 19, 2021 - Jan 16, 2022. Bennett explores issues of gender, sexuality, race, and socioeconomic status in large-scale black and white photographs. In this interview, we ask Bennett about how he got to this point, what it's like to balance editorial and personal work, his love for film photography, and what he misses most about art school.
The Nats edged the Reds 3-2 for their 3rd straight victory. Al & Mark search for the proper superlatives for Juan Soto as his torrid stretch continued on Thursday night. He yet again reached base four times, set a franchise record in walks, and has lifted his average to .325. Is it fair to say he is the NL MVP frontrunner with a week to go? How does this recent run affect potential extension talks?(22:52) Patrick Corbin did not allow a run as he almost lasted seven innings. Can fans be optimistic about the lefty for next season as he has had three good outings this month? Corbin looked like the 2019 version of himself while on the mound in Cincinnnati.(28:01) Tanner Rainey pitched a scoreless eighth inning while Kyle Finnegan struggled to lock down the save. Will we see Rainey become the closer in the final week?(34:44) Carter Kieboom went 0 for 4 Thursday night and his September stats are not looking good. Do we have a feel for how 3B is stacking up for Opening Day next season?
Kelsey Conway and Charlie Goldsmith recap the Bengals vs. Dolphins preseason game.

In an at times excruciating to watch CNN town hall in Cincinnati, President Joe Biden bumbles, fumbles, and stumbles his way through an answer for Don Lemon about the FDA clearing vaccines for children 12 and under. Also, Biden states that those who are vaccinated cannot become infected with COVID-19 or the Delta variant - which has not yet been scientifically determined, one way or the other.

We catch up with Senior Director of New Media and Broadcasting Tom Gelehrter fresh off his vacation. Although, we could just call this the breaking news podcast as we unveil seven pieces of breaking information. Some that are even relevant! Outside of that we discuss our favorite moments of the year that was in UC athletics, the state of the baseball program under new coach Ty Neal and more football fodder. Plus, Tommy rejects an in-house call while on air, we talk about the socially acceptable places for adult men to go shirtless and wax poetic about the absence of our normal podcast artist Shane Harrison. Sidenote, sorry about a small bit of technical details with Tommy's mic, for a few small portions it goes in and out, but don't bail on the pod when you hear it, the sound soon after comes back clear. Plus, you should be focusing on me anyway. #SarcasmFontTake a listen to the podcast below, or as always, you can subscribe here on iTunes or search Inside Bearcats Podcast on your mobile device and the podcasts will come directly to you so you can listen to our smooth voices on those long road trips. Enquirer reporter Bill Koch joins me on the podcast this week. If you haven't read Bill's five-part series on the state of UC athletics, stop and do so now. It's required reading for any Bearcats fan at this point. Here's the main UC page with all the pieces listed. Bill joins as we talk about what he discovered chatting with nearly every figure involved in creating the past, present and future of UC athletics. We also delve into the optimism, frustration and general awkwardness that comes with maneuvering through such a difficult landscape as that which evolved over the last few years. Of course, the conversation tangents to cookies, golden quote nuggets and spurned girlfriends, but was as informative as any podcast you will hear anywhere in covering the state of the program. Thanks again to Bill for joining. You, of course, can read his regular reporting on UC athletics here at Cincinnati.com, follow him on Twitter here @bkoch or hit up his blog at this link. On the latest edition of the Inside the Bearcats Podcast we go national as I welcome back Rob Dauster, senior college basketball writer for NBC Sports' College Basketball Talk. Many of you will remember Rob and his partner in college basketball crime Troy Machir from last year when they ran the college hoops blog Ballin' Is A Habit and made an 18-day trek across the country to take in the best games/locations in the middle of January. During that trek they sat down with me and while we recording a podcast talking basketball and eating lunch at Montgomery Inn Ribs. Without the draw of offering their first foray into the beauty that is Montgomery Inn, I was still able to bring Rob back today as we talked about his move from BIAH to NBC Sports, late-night West Coast tweeting, the national view of UC, ranking the Big East conference teams, why people need to stop talking about college basketball being "a" shambles and how watching six basketball games at once can place a strain on your relationship. Great stuff, as always, and remember to follow Rob and company at the College Basketball Talk blog here and fill your 2 a.m. tweeting fix by following him on Twitter here. Unfortunately, Troy couldn't make it on the pod today, but make sure you follow him on Twitter as well here. Direct Download
The latest edition of the Fox Sports Ohio Podcast welcomes pod newbie Kevin Goheen, the newest writer for FSO based out of Southwest Ohio. He joins the FSO team after 15 years spent covering sports in the area, including the Bengals beat writer for the Post from 2001-07.He's been tracking the Bearcats all season and especially since jumping on the job a few weeks back. We talk about the travails of being a prep cross country writer, how to UC can shake the current negative momentum, the Bearcats relative to the bubble, Kevin's sights and sounds from his time spent with Bearcats at the combine, George Winn=Alfred Morris, Travis Kelce=Rob Gronkowksi and we also break down the life and times of Lil' Dawg the most famous bobblehead in Cincinnati media. If you are looking for a specific topic, the basketball convo ends around 18 minutes and the final 18 minutes flip to the football Bearcats conversation. Make sure you check out all Kevin's work at FoxSportsOhio.com and follow him on Twitter here @FSOhio_KGoheen. Direct Download
Welcome to the latest edition of the Inside the Bearcats Podcast. Today I welcome back Tom Gelerhter, our resident New Media and Broadcasting director as myself and Tommy G talk about the behind the scenes of the basketball team's big win against Villanova, the resiliency of a battered group, the addition of a baseball game at GABP, Signing Day extras with Tommy Tuberville and, most importantly, the Harlem Shake. For those who don't know what the Harlem Shake is, it's taking over The Interwebbings. Here are some examples. We spend about the first seven minutes discussing what will be a forthcoming UC edition and what makes a great Harlem Shake. We then of course make our way into all things UC. Enjoy and remember to subscribe to the podcast on iTunes and it will come directly to you. Direct Download
The Podcast returns as I sit down and chat with Tommy G following UC's 62-54 victory over Rutgers. One of the more entertaining podcasts in the history of the ITBP. Really, I can explain the podcast all I want, really this incredible artist rendering of all the topics covered by our guy Shane Harrison explains it all. As for my attempt to explain, we flip the script on Mr. Gelehrter as we take the questions he's been peppering to the freshman and sophomore players in his Know Your Bearcats series and play Know Your New Media and Broadcasting Director. Before that we touch on the stress of buying new glasses, the #JustinJacksonMeanFace Twitter contest/subsequent prize package the wild goose chase for a bike on Wednesday night and, of course, Fred Savage. We also talk plenty of Bearcats, we hear from Mick Cronin while talking about mentoring players, the first/second half debate, Cashmere Wright and plans for National Signing Day including the possible return of critically acclaimed Fax Cam! If you aren't interested in all our delightful, witty banter you can scroll to the 6:40 mark when we delve into UC hoops, though, I can't think of a reason you would want to do so. Enjoy. And don't forget to subscribe to the podcast through your iTunes account by following the link here, opening it in your iTunes and clicking subscribe. Direct Download
The Inside the Bearcats Podcast -- now officially on iTunes! -- returns this week as I sit down with the Voice of the Bearcats and GoBearcats blogging colleague, Dan Hoard. It has been a while since we sat in the bleachers at Fifth Third Arena in early December and Dan made fun of my less than spectacular setup. Well, he was welcomed into the new, improved New Media Suite/Podcasting Studios (otherwise known as commandeering Tommy G's office space) on Thursday to see how far this feature has risen. Always great to have Dan on as we chatted about what happened to the uptempo offense, the injuries to Cashmere Wright and Jeremiah Davis III, Marquette, the odd state of the Big East beyond Louisville/Syracuse and what the heck is going on with the struggles at home. Of course, as always we struggled to stay completely on track. We veered into odd Hollywood couples, how exactly Russell Brand became famous, a statement that may force me to turn in my man card, the Syracuse meal itinerary and Dan's time in college spent playing alto sax in the pep band. Again, to remind everyone, you can now have this podcast come directly to you on your mobile device, notebook or whatever. Just follow this link and click the button to open the podcast in your iTunes account and subscribe. From that point forward, as soon as I post a new pod it will pop directly into your iTunes account and be waiting on you. If anybody has any problems with it or just wants to send in reaction to what we talked about, shoot me an email to pauldehnerjr@gmail.com or hit me up on Twitter at @pauldehnerjr. Enjoy everybody. The Inside the Bearcats Podcast opens the new year by welcoming back Tom Gelehrter, UC Director of New Media and Broadcasting as we discuss the football season that was, wild Belk Bowl, Travis Kelce's future, football storylines for 2013 then jump into basketball for the second half of the program to talk about the win against Pittsburgh, the David Nyarsuk development and home games against St. John's (Saturday, 4 p.m.) and Notre Dame (Monday, 6:30 p.m.). Also, we tangentially touch on Tommy G's bedazzled mic, the three-stimulus listening method, tweeting self-baby pics and, the latest bobblehead to grace Tommy's collection. As you can see here, TG received a bobblehead of himself and it seems I look remarkably like Travis Hafner. So, this photo is merely a dramatization of what the podcast actually looked like. For reference, football talk goes until about the 24-minute mark and the final 14 minutes focus on basketball and other random ramblings. Enjoy. Direct Download
The Inside the Bearcats Podcast returns as I head to the ESPN1530 studios to chat with UC football/basketball engineer/play-by-play/talk-show host and versatile member of the Cincinnati media, Mo Egger. We dissect all things UC basketball right now from the comfort in being discounted nationally, what evolution of Shaq Thomas could mean, impact of Justin Jackson's benching and the never-ending topic of the effect of the schedule. Also, we veer off into Mo's brush with Dennis Rodman, the concept of the double-dip buffet, Charlie Manuel's texting ability and the grand honor of winning the Atlantic Division. Much thanks to Mo for his time, which ended up being more than he probably bargained for, and I'm extremely grateful. Of course, you can read his blog here or follow him on Twitter here or listen to him on ESPN1530 pretty much every day from 3-6 p.m. Enjoy. Direct Download
