Dave Kitson is an ex-Premier League footballer who made his name with Reading and Stoke. Following his career he has not been without controversy. He has stated that he would like to become PFA Chairman (trade union for footballers). On many occasions he has also been accused of being the “secret footballer” an as of now unknown ex-footballer who has written a number of tell all books about the professional game. As you can imagine quite an interesting character to have on a podcast! Believe it, or not footballers are just people too. Whilst they might have a reputation for playboy lifestyles and holidaying in places like Dubai, Dave Kitson is very much the exception to the rule. In fact it was his interest in “weird” countries that led him into contact with us, from where a friendship was formed. The first half, the free bit we shoot the breeze about travel in general, before the second half where we go into a bit more juice detail and ask some slightly more interesting questions. Ben and Andrew discuss the home defeat to Southampton, including Che Adams' return and an almost legendarily-bad performance from a Blades midfielder. For the meat of this week's podcast, it's back to 2013 for our Memorable Match: Chris Morgan and David Unsworth form the hardest managerial pair possible, attempting to steer United from the wreckage of the Danny Wilson era and into the playoffs, starting with this dramatic 2-2 draw with Brentford. Perhaps better known as "the Keith Stroud game", it's a match that featured 11 yellows, 3 reds, and 4 penalties. Plus some fun facts about Dave Kitson's hair. Thanks as always for listening, and UTB!

Neutral grounds, shorter games, no relegation, CGI fans... the Premier League is so desperate to get games going again that 'Project Restart' is leaving no stone unturned. Money is the driving force, of course. But will it tear the game apart? Looking further ahead, how will Brexit affect transfers? The FA have pounced on an opportunity to promote young English talent but will it come at the expense of talent? We also discuss Dave Kitson's bid to succeed Gordon Taylor as chairman of the troubled PFA. After the break, UFC, Nascar and... er... Mike Tyson are all set for a comeback. We discuss. We end with our 'favourite' sporting wrong'uns – from David Icke to OJ Simpson it's a diverse list. We should also mention, we've been loving The Last Dance on Netflix... Michael Jordan, he was good, wasn't he? Anyway, enjoy the show.Every week on Left Field, Wogan and Allen dissect the latest in Football and Not Football. More decisions have been made in Europe as Ligue 1 decides to give the title to Paris St Germain. It’s not yet confirmed if they’ll also give them next season’s title but let’s be honest, they might as well. There are also rumours that the Premier League will resume behind the closed doors of the remote and impenetrable St George’s Park fortress… but those rumours appear to have come from WhatsApp voice notes. On top of all this we’re pitch for Neil Warnock to join the cast of Gogglebox, Marcus and Pete are having some troubles in their long distance relationship, Tim Sherwood annoys everyone and Dave Kitson annoys everyone.Search ‘Football Ramble’ on social media to find us, and email us here: show@footballrambledaily.com ***Please take the time to rate and review us on Apple Podcasts or wherever you get your pods.
