He dominates, with Sarah g Mass and Rebecca Garris, both featuring heavily on top of the list. Heated rivalry of course, stick Around. We've got the Nick Jonas film that I did know existed and are now having an existential crisis over Helena Bottom. Carter has exited the White Lotus and the Sires family at a stagecoach moment that signals a full reconciliation. Welcome back to Morning Tea. Now over the weekend and you trailer dropped for a movie I didn't know all about until now, and I can't believe it. I'm beside myself with anticipation for May twenty nine. The film is called Power Ballad and it stars Paul Rudd and Nick freaking Jonas so Rad plays a wedding spinger past his prime. Nick plays a washed up boy band member. They have a late night jam by coincidence, and Paul Wright's character plays him a song he's been working on. Fast Forward. The pop star releases the song, reigniting his career. But this is when it gets complicated. You don't recognize it, should I of course yes you should. If that's my chorus and verse. I wrote at that time, when Wow, Danny Wilson, you were great up there, come with me. I could tell with any two minutes of any you you are ninely some boy band guy, and you are too good for that wedding band to him with this one for years. So every Signverrold in my life, it's about you. Sockered. The film is directed by the same guy who made Once, which if you haven't seen, please stop what you're doing and watch immediately, and he's already receiving rave reviews. Paul Right and Nick Jonas in a music film about songwriting, friendship and betrayal, put it in my veins. Helena Bottom Carter announced it as part of the White Load of season forecast back in January. Has exited the show and the timing is extraordinary. HBO released his statement seeing the character did not align once on set, and that the role has subsequently been rethought, is being rewritten, and will be being recast in coming weeks. So what we understand is that she got to Saint Trepe, unpacked her bags, got a couple of days into filming, and then it became clear to both parties it wasn't working. Reports suggests the role was central to the season story, which is why the decision was made to rewrite it entirely. I want to know if she got paid for a couple of days or she just got a free holiday at Center Pay, which I said wouldn't be bad about. The season is set during the Cannes Film Festival on the French Riviera, filming in Center Pey, Monaco and Paris. And finally, Noah Cyrus made her stagecoach debut on Friday over in the States and saved the best of last. After a studying set, she brought out her brother Brazen and then her dad, Billy Ray to perform their new song on Our Way Along a song tonight. There's most definitely a change in the air, and we don't mean the launch of the FOUR channel Sky TV network. Relax everyone, UK Gold and TOTP reruns are coming in three years!No, real change was coming. The second summer of love in 1988 (sorry Danny Wilson, probably a year out) as witnessed on the utterly imperial NOW 11, 12 and 13 had demonstrated that the 90s were calling and they would be decked out in dayglo. And most importantly a new positivity was being felt in the air, across the airwaves and through the pop we were all immersed in.And let's not beat about the bush, folks, 1989 was a seismic year for music. Let me indulge you listeners:Disintegration, Three Feet High and Rising, Doolittle, Technique, Club Classics Volume One, Raw Like Sushi, The Stone Roses, , Like A Prayer, Hats, The Seeds of Love, Flowers In The Dirt, Paul's Boutique, The Raw And The Cooked…And of course Neither Fish Nor Flesh (A Soundtrack of Love, Faith, Hope & Destruction).And so, to our favourite compiler of variously compiled pop. 1989 saw four (yes, as many as that!) new NOW, That's What I Call Music albums. Why four, I hear you cry? Well, because the summer was adorned with the first new dance volume since 1986, an album that, NOW fans will know, featured Love Can't Turn Around by Farley Jackmaster Funk - the first House track to break the UK. And 1989 was time (not for the guru, that's 1990 of course) to celebrate how dance was back, Back, BACK!And this additionally delicious dance volume enabled the BIG summer fifteenth volume to go deeper into the year's genres. The Bases Project is derived from the early pioneering Irish UFO Research Centre, created by Miles Johnston, John Hind and Danny Wilson in the 1970s, publisher of The Irish UFO News. For most of the last three years, Tracy Schlapp and Danny Wilson have been working with a group of writers incarcerated at the Oregon State Penitentiary in Salem. Schlapp and Wilson's writing program comes out of their nonprofit Bridgeworks Oregon, which is focused on art and music in prison.Some of the writers in custody are serving long sentences, life sentences without the possibility of parole. Some have children -- and grandchildren -- they won't likely ever see on the outside. More than 70,000 children in Oregon are impacted by incarceration.The storytelling group is called Ground Beneath Us, and it uses prompts that come from school children's questions - questions they may be too uncomfortable or afraid to ask an incarcerated family member directly.Some of the men's essays and poems are published in the new anthology called “Prisons Have a Long Memory.” Schlapp is the creative director of Bridgeworks Oregon. She edited the anthology with Wilson, and she joins us to tell us more about the program and the process.Kyle Hedquist's essays appear in the book, and he served on the editorial board. He now works as a lobbyist with the Oregon Justice Resource Center after being granted clemency by Governor Kate Brown last year. He also joins us to share about how he spent his time the 28 years he served, his writing and his commitment to creating community.
