It's a SWERVE in the boxing promotional world as the new start up, Zuffa Boxing, in the U.S. has snatched away British prominent fighter Conor Benn from U.K. based Matchroom Boxing. We had a spirited discussion on this weekend's "Fight Freaks Unite Recap," as host T.J. Rives particularly is criticizing the terms of the signing by Zuffa and how it hypocritically contradicts their supposed "revolutionizing" boxing promotions with their own system, fighter pay model and ignoring the boxing organizations.Insider Dan Rafael provides his counter points, but also agrees and is questioning how Zuffa can justify the apparent ridiculous money that Benn is getting for a "one off" fight with them?Benn is off his career best win defeating Chris Eubank Jr. in their rematch last November. And what about how he left Matchroom, whom had stood by him, including financially, during his PED suspension?Enjoy this portion of the Pod and a reminder to hear the whole show, just click the previous podcast on this feed. There's clearly a lot more to this Conor Benn and Matchroom relationship than we are being led to believe because Conor would've made good money with Matchroom, and so for him to leave and move to Zuffa, and essentially relocate his whole career to the United States tells us that maybe the garden wasn't as rosy as people made out. You never saw them being particularly close which is always a red flag. It's the same with Anthony Joshua so you feel like Conor Benn moving to Zuffa Boxing has left Match very exposed and very devoid of star power in the UK.
Matchroom boss Eddie Hearn explodes in a fiery, no-holds-barred interview, reacting to the latest headlines in boxing and shutting down critics in typical fashion. From Anthony Joshua's next move to promoter rivalries and heavyweight shake-ups — Hearn doesn't hold back. In this video:

Emily Frazer is the CEO of Matchroom Multi Sport. She's led the charge in transforming sports like 9-ball pool into fast-growing, commercially compelling global properties, building new formats, elevating athlete storytelling, and bringing fresh audiences into what we could call a challenger landscape. The Multi-Sport story was told to perfection in the recent Matchroom Netflix series, shining a light on the lesser known side of the organisation at the centre of the boxing world and driving the boom we've seen in the darts. A very intriguing heavyweight main event in England leads our show and we got lots of news incluidng on the heavyweight division's top stars on the newest "Big Fight Weekend Preview Podcast!"Host T.J. Rives returns with insider Dan Rafael to give their takes.First a preview of Saturday's Queensberry/DAZN PPV main event from LondonJoseph Parker vs. Fabio Wardley, 12 rounds, for Parker's WBO interim heavyweight title. It's a significant risk for Parker against the hard punching Wardley, when he's already in line to be the full WBO champ or get the undisputed title shot with Oleksandr Usyk next year. Then, some NewsWe are recapping Danny Garcia's KO4 of Daniel Rodriguez last Saturday night in Brooklyn, NY. Is Danny done and is he a HOFer?Next, Usyk says he is back in training after back injury, plans to fight in 2026 and wants to fight for three more years (until he is 41). We're not so sure on that last one.Meanwhile, Tyson Fury strongly reiterated his retirement (yet, again) in an interview with YouTube channel FurociTV. We still don't believe him at this point. And, then that leaves... After teasing a December return for Anthony Joshua, Eddie Hearn has said he won't be back until at least February and perhaps, in Africa. Will Joshua end up fighting Fury??Next, Matchroom Boxing on Thursday won the purse bid for the fight between IBF lightweight titlist Raymond Muratalla and Matchroom-promoted mandatory challenger Andy Cruz. Dan has the latest.Former IBF welterweight titlist Kell Brook is ending a four-year retirement an will fight on February 13 to honor his friend Ricky Hatton. He fights Eisa Al Dah, who was supposed to fight Hatton in December, in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. It's yet another light weekend worldwide in the sport, but there is a decent name coming back in the ring in New York and the WBO interim heavyweight champ Joseph Parker is also our guest on the newest "Big Fight Weekend Preview" Podcast.Host T.J. Rives returns with insider Dan Rafael of his Fight Freaks Unite Substack and newsletter. There's good back and forth on the situation. Also, Amanda Serrano will return to featherweight to defend her unified WBO/WBA women's titles against Erika Cruz in a rematch of their epic battle in 2023. The fight tops the MVP card on January 3rd on DAZN in San Juan.Back to the always comical WBA, as they ordered newly elevated welterweight titleholder Rolando Romero and mandatory challenger Shakhram Giyasov to meet next. Rolly supposed to, however, fight Manny Pacquiao in January. They have also ordered WBA featherweight titlist Nick Ball to next face mandatory challenger Brandon Figueroa, which is a much better fight, if it comes off. And, Matchroom announced super middleweight contenders Diego Pacheco and Kevin Lele Sadjo will meet in the main event Dec. 13 (DAZN) at Adventist Health Arena in Stockton, California. Meanwhile, WBC cruiserweight titlist Badou Jack and former titlist Noel Mikaelian will meet in a rematch on Dec.13 at a venue to be announced in Los Angeles. In this episode, Dakota and Lukie talk about Jaron "Boots" Ennis' first-round knockout over Uisma Lima. How good is Ennis? We discuss in the lead. Also, Keith Thurman and Sebastian Fundora will no longer fight at he end of October. Then, heavyweight Guido Vianello knocked out Alexis Barriere, with thoughts on Tahmir Smalls' win over Jose Roman and Dennis Thompson's close fight with Sean Diaz. Prospect alert on the undercard, watch Giorgio Visioli. He is good, and Naheem Parker beat unbeaten Justin Palmieri. Earlier in the day, Arslanbek Makhmudov revived his career by defeating Dave Allen in an action fight in the U.K. We also talked about Bilal Fawaz defeating Junaid Bostan in their rematch. Plus, we discuss Josh Padley's win over Reece Bellotti. A brief conversation about Red Owl Boxing's very fun card, but also a very late card on Friday Night. Friday we have a solid domestic British card promoted by Matchroom Boxing. The main event is a crossroads middleweight bout between Kieron Conway vs. George Liddard, which will show the trajectory of Liddard's potential. Other notables featured on this card are Jimmy Sains, Leli Buttigieg, and Taylor Bevan. A fight I think could be good is Shannon Ryan versus Chloe Watson, which is an evenly matched bout. On Saturday, Danny Garcia will fight for the final time in his career against Daniel Gonzalez. The bout will take place on Millions.co. Supporting bouts are Nahir Albright taking on former champion Richard Commey, Damian Knyba facing Philly veteran Joey Dawejko, the return of Chris Colbert, and possilby the most interesting fight on the card Gabriel Rosado vs. Vaughn Alexander.Saturday on DAZN in Texas, WBC junior flyweight champion Lourdes Juarez will face women's boxing modern legend Yesica Nery Plata in the main event. The co-feature will see a crossroads battle between local favorite Omar Juarez and Omar Rosario. Both were viewed as prospects. Now they both have two losses. Unified women's middleweight Desley Robinson will face Logan Holler, and former titleholder Shurretta Metcalf will face undefeated Krystal Rosado, who is managed by Amanda Serrano. In Long Beach, one of my favorite prospects in boxing, Albert Gonzalez, will face veteran Leonardo Baez in the main event. Dave Allen's spirited effort just wasn't enough to overcome the power and precision of Arslanbek Makhmudov. Despite coming off a huge knockout win over Johnny Fisher back in May, Allen fell short on the scorecards, with all three judges giving the fight to the Russian, even after Makhmudov had two points deducted for holding. Where does Dave go now, and is this down in the hole Matchroom are now?
