For the Duck family in DuckTales, life was like a hurricane, there in Duckberg. Scrooge McDuck, Launchpad, Donald Duck, Webby, Huey, Dewey, and Louie had used race cars, lasers, and airplanes to do everything from solve and mystery to rewriting history! Few TV shows bring as many good memories as those from the Disney Afternoon block. But, as great as Talespin, Chip n Dale: Rescue Rangers, and Darkwing Duck were...there was something special about the wild adventures of the McDuck family. Maybe it was the wild adventures or maybe it was scrooge's swan dives into his money bin. But if you ask me, it was the fact that all of Scrooge's riches would've meant nothing if his family wasn't there to show him what real wealth is!
The guys jet off to Duckberg with Mr. McD this week to talk about the updated DuckTales first season, and how reboots sometimes just crush it.

Everyday we're out there making podcasts (woo hoo) and this particular one is about one of the most awkward-to-pretend-to-be-at-recess superheroes of them all, Gizmoduck! He of the popular 80s cartoon Ducktales (woo hoo). What is the ethnic history of a quasi-multicultural society in a city called Duckberg ruled by a duck ethnic elite? What exactly is the purpose of money in this universe of swimming, skiing and sunbathing in cash? What's a blatherskite? Does Ducktales (woo hoo) have the greatest television theme song of all time? What else is in the running? We'll find out today in this turducken of cartoon super-powered adventurrrrrrrre!
In which Dan and Alia con-DUCK-t a spec-QUACK-ular discussion of the BEAKs and valleys of the new DuckTales reboot! Hear us harp on about all things Duckberg, the absolute incomprehensible dialogue of Donald, all alongside a long diversion into what makes an effective reboot. Just try not to get DuckTales stuck in your head now...WhooOO!
(Originally recorded 10/2/16) Debuting in 1987 and changing the landscape of syndicated animation forever, the miser with a reluctant heart-of-gold Uncle Scrooge and his three love-able color shaded nephews Huey, Dewey, and Louie set the stage for many other beloved Disney animated shows of the late 80s and early 90s. Life is like a hurricane in Duckberg! Caleb leads the Junior Woodchucks through the development of the catchy DuckTales theme song (we know you're already singing it) and it's award winning writer. The cast of characters and the amazing voice actors who played them are highlighted, but it would be impossible to do them justice in this one episode. The feature DuckTales film and video game, and it's subsequent 2013 remastered release, are also dissected, and we all agree that Gizmo Duck is a poor man's unicycle-riding Iron Man... er, Duck. Blathering Blatherskite! Caleb whips up another edition of 6 Degrees of Ryan Gosling to replace CryptoGeekology while Colin is on Paternity Leave. Congrats Colin

We are just expressing our opinion, and you are more than welcome to disagree.
