March 25, 2024 - The Korea Society is delighted to present Colloquy: Translating Korean Poetry, featuring five poets and translators –Stine An, Eunice Lee, Seo Jung Hak, Megan Sungyoon, and Soje– for an evening of poetry reading and conversation. Colloquy: Translators in Conversation is an event series presented by World Poetry Books in collaboration with Montez Press Radio and a partnering New York City institution. Since 2022, Colloquy event series provides a forum for translators to engage with live audiences in an exploration of the art of translation. Each Colloquy event presents a group of two to four translators of recently published works (or works-in-progress) for short readings and moderated conversations, followed by Q&A's with the audience. October 6, 2023 - Three poets. Three translators. One conversation. Join us for an evening of bilingual poetry readings. Three poets - Moon Bo Young, Kim Liyoun, Kim Sono - along with three translators - Soje, Eunice Lee, Jenny Jisun Kim - explore the power of language to connect us with one another. Not as well known to many audiences, Korean poetry contains a rich and vibrant tradition that is yet to be understood. It is through the exchanging of dialogue, breath, and verse that the moment of Korean poetry is revealed. This program is a collaboration between The Korea Society's Arts and Culture Department and Education Department and is moderated by Education Program Officer, Amanda Grant. Tulane University Campus Programming (TUCP) has always gone above and beyond in bringing talent and entertainment to Tulane students, and the concerts committee did not disappointed this time around. For the fall 2015 concert, Trey Lopez and Eunice Lee led the committee in bringing Jeremih to Tulane's campus! Jeremih, most known for his songs "Like It," "Planes" and "Don't Tell Em," has had numerous Billboard Top 10 appearances. We had the pleasure of speaking with Trey Lopez, one of the executives of TUCP's concert committee, about what life in TUCP Concerts is like and got a little preview of the performance this weekend.
