Let's start by saying you have to listen to This or That...I finally catch Brendan out with a few questions...priceless. We also talk about a couple of events we just attended, including a non-sigmar Con. The main topic, Creating An Army, is meant as a primer to guide those who are relatively new to the hobby, and hopefully a discussion to get all you Sigmar/hobby die hards thinking about things in a few new ways. Either way, we hope you find it useful and interesting. By the way, we didn't forget the Bonereapers update in White Dwarf (Brendan would have NONE of that)...next episode for sure. Be sure to check those time stamps! Thanks as always for joining us. Greetings Magical Souls!! My dear student RUBY began her own podcast, and interviewed me! Join us for Transmission #14 “Safety is BullShit” with & Ruby Freecon. Here is the magic that unfolded: Safety is BS. We’ll never feel safe enough to live our truth. And yet if we truly want to help move the conscious collective forward, we must live our truth, despite feeling unsafe. Join me and my dear Shamanic soul sister Briana for a conversation that dives deep beyond the paradigms of our current monarchy to uncover the reasons why we feel experience anxiety when we want to share our truth. In this episode, you’ll get a history lesson that will help you understand why we experience fear when we want to speak our truth, how your individual wounds are impacting our collective wound, the difference between feeling safe and feeling secure, and why living in your truth is the greatest contribution to our collective. Briana Lynn loves the human heart. She believes that within each of us, we possess all that we need. Her work as a soul coach is to support access to this infinite source. She coaches, teaches and lives the top ancient technologies and transformational journeys to get humans free of what has been slowing them down, standing in their way and sabotaging their life experience. She earned her NLP Masters Practitioner and began WholeLife NLP in 2010. She integrates this with her Masters in Peace Education from The United Nations University for Peace. This, along with her 13 years of adventures and study in Latin America, serve as the foundation of her Soul Purpose - Inner Peace for World Peace. NLP, family constellations, meditation, soulful movement and sacred ceremony of various traditions are the tools she weaves into her in-person and online courses, 1x1 sacred Initiation work, and guided journeys around the world. Briana found the convergence of her love for academia and esoterica in the deep study of ancient healing, celebration and rites of passage ceremonies. While she has sat with, researched, and prayed with Earth Traditions spanning Latin and North America, the deepest dive into this resurgence of Today's Ceremonialist comes from her own relationship with nature and spirit. She weaves this into the Re-Tribing Movement - Our Return, together as a community in an intentional and sacred way. Her contributions as a ceremonialist include: Doula Work, Sacred Union Ceremonies, home blessings, rites of passage, relationship clearing, and intention casting. Live from Freecon 2018...It's Tales from the Glass-Guarded World! This is a recording of a one-shot game we played at Freecon 2018 at Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida. Danielle couldn't make it, so the PCs are not the ones you are accustomed to hearing. Instead, we're going to follow some thieves through an exciting evening of burglary. You'll meet these thieves again, in an adventure that takes place 30 years in the past, in a few more episodes.
We have a really fun interview with someone that I really enjoyed being interviewed by her in the past because we share this common trait of being genetically unemployable. That’s the name of her brand. Emily Leach is just one of the most amazing powerhouses. She just goes and is so passionate about the solopreneur, freelancer, gig economy, whatever you want to term it. I really wanted to bring her on personally because this is our show. When we find somebody really interesting, we want to bring them to you because we think you will too. She is one of the more interesting people I’ve interviewed in the last couple of years from Inc. as well as I spoke at her conference and I just adored the way that the conference has run. It was called Freelance Conference and #FreeCon, which was the giggles that was going around Facebook when I started posting about FreeCon. It was absolutely fun though. It was an amazing event in terms of the quality of people. The passion that she has just comes through everything that she does. She really is just so strongly aligned with this community of freelancers and solopreneurs that don’t have support system. They want to go beyond the conventional job and they want to be on their own, and they have all of that drive in them but they might be missing network, and skills, and tools, systems, whatever it might be. She really wants to bring that to them. Let’s hear from Emily because she’s a fascinating person and we just really wanted to bring you her story and how she does it. She’s got some great tips on how to get sponsorships. Whether you want them for your show or you want them for your next event, listen to this. Love the show? Subscribe, rate, review, and share! We are going to talk about hacking and making today. It's hacking in a general sense. It's a definition. Broadly used hacking is the way we're talking about it today; involved in everything from real hackers in makerspaces to even also incubator-level hacking with software and life hacking. Anil Pattni who I got to meet at the FREECon, the Freelance Conference in Austin, Texas which we went to. It was so interesting to meet him. It was ironic because he started doing some of the first OC Maker Faire stuff here in Orange County, California and yet we met him in Austin, Texas which is where he is now. It was like, “How did we not meet you before?” that kind of thing.
After not having any luck finding a conference where Emily could network with fellow Freelancers, she did what any true entrepreneur does and did it herself. She lived in Austin, and knew she was on a time crunch because she would be backing up to SXSW, so she put together her entire first conference in 100 days and FREECON was officially born. Now, just completing her 3rd year, Emily and I talk about: - How she put together her first event - Why the details mean everything to her, and why she feels they're important - What's the most important thing to do when landing large sponsors - Her biggest lessons learned as she has grown from year to year - An incredible piece of advice for those who are jumping in To find out more about the Freelance Conference, visit: http://freelanceconference.com/ Interested in jumping into live events?
