Stephen Carty (BBC Radio Scotland, Radio Times, Empire Magazine) and Simon Williams (You're Going to Need a Bigger Boat film quiz) return to Flixwatcher to review Stephen's choice Extraction 2. Extraction 2 (2023) is the sequel to the Netflix 2020 film Extraction. Directed by Sam (Extraction) Hargrave and based on the graphic novel Ciudad by Ande Parks, Joe Russo, Anthony Russo, Fernando León González and Eric Skillman. Spoiler, after surviving (just) a previous mission, Tyler (Chris Hemswoth) Rake retires to Austria but his retirement is short-lived. A mysterious stranger (Idris Elba) arrives with a rescue mission involving Tyler's ex-wife's Mia's (Olga Kurylenko) sister Ketevan (Tinatin Dalakishvili) and her children. Her husband,Davit Radiani, just happens to be one of the co-leaders of the largest crime syndicate of Georgia and much violence and destruction follows the rescue. Chances are if you enjoyed Extraction, you'll enjoy Extraction 2. Unlikely to make the top ten list of films of the year but it knows what kind of film it is and plays to those strengths - ridiculous levels of violent action. Scores for recommendability reflected this and scores across the other categories give an overall rating of 3.66. On this week's episode of the Worst. Comic. Podcast. EVER!: We sit down with creator Phil Hester to talk about The Wretch Omnibus from our friends at OmahaBound. The omnibus is now available on Comixology, so we thought this would be a good time to visit with Phil about the origins of Glass City's hero. With three decades in the business, Phil is a familiar face for comic fans in the midwest, often seen with his long-time collaborator Ande Parks at cons. Phil is also currently working on Family Tree with Jeff Lemire for Image Comics. Jerry recounts the perils of home-ownership, as a water line break turned his world upside-down over the holiday weekend. We discuss the second episode of Stargirl, which has the guys excited to follow this summer. Plus the return of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D has the team traveling to the past to save Hydra! We have our Pick 3 selections, sponsored by our friends at Clint's Comics. We were a little catty with our picks, as this week sees the release finally of the Catwoman 80th Anniversary Special. Listen up, friends. Despite the movie theaters being closed, there is still a #1 movie around the world right now - Extraction on Netflix. And if you pay attention to the credits, you will see that this film is based on the Ciudad graphic novel done by friend-of-the-show Ande Parks. For the long-time listeners, you are well aware of Ande Parks by now. As a fixture in the Kansas City comic book scene and a wearer of hats, Ande joined us back on Episode 37 when Ciudad was first published. In the five years since that recording, Ciudad was optioned, went through a few script revisions and title changes, and debuted at the end of April as Extraction starring one of those Chris guys from the Marvel movies.  Ande has a print for sale of Extraction's main character Tyler Rake for sale over at his website. Be sure to pick up one (or two or three...) Also, we turn our attention to creator Neal Adams for our Pick 3 choices. With a career starting in the early 1960s, we have a lot of books to choose from Adams' credit list.   Finally, we check in on our reading progress for the #My500ComicGoal challenge. Meanwhile, Tenzin and his family arrive at the Southern Air Temple, where Jinora is drawn to the statues of Aang and an unidentified ancient Avatar.

Love ‘em or hate ‘em, there’s something about the precocious little tykes that continues to attract the imaginations and minds of creators around the world. But which kid genius is the most brilliant? Who could outsmart whom? Discussion: THE KILLING JOKE Batman: The Killing Joke is a one-shot superhero graphic novel written by Alan Moore and drawn by Brian Bolland. Published by DC Comics in 1988, it has remained in print since then, and has also been reprinted as part of the trade paperback DC Universe: The Stories of Alan Moore. The plot revolves around the Joker's attempt to drive Gotham City Police CommissionerJames Gordon insane, and is intercut with the villain's flashbacks to his life before his disfigurement and criminal life. The story's effects on the mainstream Batman continuity included the shooting and paralysisof Barbara Gordon (a.k.a.
