In this week's release prior to the anniversary of 9-11, Frances is joined by Carlos, a veteran who served 4 years of active duty as a Marine. Carlos shares some of his experiences serving several tours as a Marine Infantryman in Iraq and the difficulty he and others face reintegrating into civilian life after service. Frances provides a quick, easy-to-understand review of what “anxiety” actually means and how a proper diagnosis and treatment may be helpful in managing the disorder. The two chat about the struggles, the misconceptions, the triumphs and not-so-pleasant side effects of when their anxiety got the best of them. While a healthy amount of fear has kept us humans at the top of the food chain, anxiety in 2018 is one of the most mislabeled and misunderstood mental health issues in today’s conversations. Lots of accidental one liners in this week's episode 10 of the Hilarious Humanitarians Podcast where Deanna & Frances are talking about setting goals for ourselves and asking for help in achieving those goals.  Before they get into the main topic, (0:40) Frances explains why she was crying prior to recording this show and Deanna figures out that she is the "Kylie Jenner" of her family. (6:00) Deanna talks about big news in her life and (6:22) shows us the importance of not leaving out important words in sentences or you will end up saying things like, "Stop eating a child unsupervised on Halloween" when she really meant to say stop eating LIKE A CHILD. (14:35) Frances discusses why she backed out of a planned trip for New Years & how insurance companies should consider refunding people for canceled plans due to falling in love.   (18:55) The girls get back on track and start talking about New Year resolutions, (20:35) stages of change and (21:25) discuss the art of asking for help.
