In the first half of today's show I am joined by Margaret Bensfield Sullivan, an author, illustrator, and family photo curator, whose work combines her personal passion for archiving with visual storytelling skills she honed over nearly two decades in brand marketing. Margaret was a partner at WPP's marketing and branded content agency Group SJR, where she designed storytelling campaigns on behalf of clients like TED, Target, Disney, and USAID. She left corporate life to spend a year with her husband and two young children crisscrossing the globe, visiting 29 countries and six continents. She wrote about their adventures in Following the Sun: Tales (and Fails) From a Year Around the World With Our Kids (December 5, 2023).Our conversation just skims the surface of the richness of her book where she details: what to consider when planning a trip like this, the pitfalls and pluses of traveling with kids, how to keep marital and family peace during a year of togetherness, and the transformative and lasting effects of time away from life's daily routine. I love that Margaret concluded our conversation with the notion that you don't actually have to travel the world to get the benefits from ditching the treadmill of the daily routine. If you are interested in this type of experience for yourself and your family, in addition to getting Margaret's book, she suggests finding a Worldschooler group on Facebook.________________________________________________________________In the second half of the show, I am joined by the one and only Tami Lynn Kent, a women's health physical therapist and the founder of Holistic Pelvic CareTM where she utilizes her ability to read energetic patterns of the body to help women reconnect to their bodies and feminine. Tami maintains a private practice and an international training program in Portland, Oregon. She has authored three previous books. Her latest, Wild Mothering: Finding Power, Spirit, and Joy in Birth and a Creative Motherhood (Atria Books, May 7, 2024), is a newly updated edition of her classic, Mothering from Your Center.I first learned of Tami's work back in 2016 when my dear friend Neslihan lent me her book, Wild Feminine. It was a life changing read that helped me to understand some of my own conditioning and subconscious biases as well as take me down a road of deep healing and a reconnecting with my own feminine energy. Today, Tami shares about the importance of reconnecting both physically and energetically with the pelvic bowl. Beyond the healing that is possible for an individual, it's an important collective act for reclaiming the energy of the feminine and re-establishing its value in an imbalanced patriarchal society. Tami's idea of Wild Mothering is offering permission and possibility to do mothering and life differently, from a place not solely lead by the head, but supported and embraced by both an inner compassion as well as a greater connection to the creative resources that exist beyond ourselves. She believes that every woman at her center has a wealth of creative resources for mothering. These abundant resources can provide guidance, bring energy when it's needed, and restore the mother-child connection. To tap into them, it's essential for women to connect with the energy medicine in their female centers. Wild Mothering — allows women to move beyond stereotypes and create the type of mothering that both sustains their families and also feeds their mothering souls. As a part of our conversation, she touches on the energetics of birth and the birth field, what the feminine means to her, what Wild Mothering means and how to embody it, and how all bodies have access to the healing medicine of the feminine."What Tami has created here is nothing short of a bible for us. Wild Mothering elevates mothering to its rightful place as the axis of culture, requiring proper due and respect and refusing to accept the invisibility and the unrecognized labor of mothers that is all too common." Click here to send me your Q's, comments, lovenotes, or a quick message here :) Okay, wait what!? Is it actually possible to experience an empowered pelvic exam?If you've ever laid on an exam table with your feet in stirrups awaiting a cold speculum from a practitioner who's giving dozens of pelvic exams each day, you'd probably answer, 'hell no.' Almost every part of a gynecologic exam feels awkward to most of us. Pants off, feet in stirrups (are we riding a horse?), some veritable stranger examining one of the most intimate places in our entire body -- often without gentleness or really much communication at all, and sometimes entirely distracted. I mean, who can blame them. They learned that way.But that doesn't mean it's right. That doesn't mean we have to just accept the status quo. There are ways to take back your power. I'm actually currently training with Tami Lynn Kent (author of Wild Feminine) and she mentioned that when she prepares herself for a gyn exam, she prepares herself with self-care and acknowledgement of what will be happening, that it may not feel gentle, and that if it is uncomfortable (which btw it doesn't HAVE to be), then just to allow her body to relax into it as much as possible knowing this is a beneficial thing for her health. So that's one option for sure, is to prepare our tissues with our own personal tender loving care and acknowledgement. But another option is what this week's guest fertility coach Françoise Molenaar shares about, which is to actually ASK for what you want. It takes courage for sure, because so many of us defer to the power-over structure especially in doctor's offices. You can actually ask to insert the speculum yourself, or even to play music(!), or ask for gentleness, or say you'd like to take some breaths to relax first. You can take the speculum back. It's your body. No matter how many degrees or letters or years of study or practice your provider has. YOU are the one whose body they are touching and you can ask for what you want or need. They are serving you. If you want to hear about how Françoise found her way to empowered gynecologic exams and how this was a key to her own personal fertility journey, this week's episode is perfect for you. Listen to learn:how advising governments in conflict zones led to Françoise's fertility journeywhy it's important to cultivate patience and nourishment while TTCwhat an empowered gynecologic exam could look likehow asking for what she wanted led to pregnancy after 10 years of TTCthe results of Françoise's 1500-response survey on pelvic exam discomfortadditional keys to supporting the fertility journey Resources:Today's shownotes: Get links to the articles and Françoise's workEpisode 10: Traditional womb healing practices w Sondra HamiltonEpisode 61: How to heal embodied womb trauma w Dr Emily WilsonEpisode 119: Clearing, tending, releasing womb trauma w Dr Sarah WylieFREE guided Womb connection and clearing meditationIf you loved this episode, share it with a friend, or take a screenshot and share on social media and tag me @herbalwombwisdom. What can a grown-up, experienced woman possibly learn from any talk about virginity? Well, when so many women go through life being made to feel dirty, deviant, shameful, and even sinful about sex and their own sexuality, we wonder, where do those beliefs originate? Is it too far-fetched to look for seeds in a belief that insists women renounce their sexual nature until marriage, and only then can they express it in the name of motherhood? That might work for some women but not for Gina Cloud. Gina's the best-selling author of W.O.M.A.N.: A New Definition For Reclaiming The Feminine and a deeply devoted teacher and speaker who inspires women to embrace their bodies fully and learn from their inner wisdom. We also welcome Stephanie Horton, a women's circle facilitator who recently created a social group called The Wild Feminine. It's a conversation most women are never encouraged or invited to have, but all will be inspired to hear.

I'd love to know what YOU think about this week's show. Let's carry on the conversation… please leave a comment below. What you'll learn from this episode: In order to reclaim the Wise Woman, we need to reclaim the woman, the whole of her… which is the reclamation of Fox Woman, the Wild Feminine I absolutely loved what Elizabeth said about the role of the Maven, moving from doing to teaching what you used to do so well. Everyone listens to the Wise Woman as they know she is concerned with what's good for her whole family or community and her wisdom will benefit all. What or who is the Wild Feminine within? There's a lot in the online space these days about unleashing the wild feminine or re-wilding the feminine. While I think that's awesome, I think some of the marketing out there can be misleading.I've seen a lot of messaging that implies that for a woman to reclaim her wild she needs to be overtly sexual and/or she needs to go through some kind of deep dark messy cathartic process that will totally disrupt her life. While that may be some women's experience, it doesn't have to be that way. And I feel that message can end up putting pressure on women to be performative. Or it gives the feeling that there's a certain way to "do it right".What I've found to be true is that our erotic wild nature is intimately connected with the rhythm and flow of nature and when we honor that and celebrate that our re-wilding becomes a lot more easeful, and natural. Not to mention fun!We tend to over complicate things. You are a wild child by nature. It's your birthright to claim it. The permission you need is right in your own back yard, or local forest, or any where in nature that speaks to you.I wanted to share 5 fun ideas to support you in this.In this episode I share:What is the wild feminine?Reclaiming our sensual and erotic connection to nature5 fun ways to unleash your wild feminine this summer from PG to spicy:)Let's dive in!Want to dive deeper?Join the waitlist for The Vital Goddess Mastermind hereView my video on Bone Breathing and access the guided audio here.Join my free breathwork membership Shakti Core® Breathwork Journeys here.View my video on Taoist Breast Massage hereView my video on Yoni Breathing here
When I first dreamed into the Menstruality Podcast, my guest today was one of the first people I knew I wanted to interview, and it's taken a while, but boy, is it worth the wait!Tami Lynn Kent is the author of Wild Feminine and the creator of Holistic Pelvic Care, and I've been lucky to study with her several times over the past decade - the results have been transformative for me. Today's far-reaching conversation explores the power and medicine we hold in our pelvic bowls and how we can resource ourselves as we 'work on the frontlines of the feminine'.We explore:What could become possible if we continued the ancient indigenous practice of listening to the menstrual dreamers in our communities, as guides. Why Tami came to be known as the Vagina Whisperer, and the shame that shifts when we are deeply honoured in this part of our bodies. The funny, and deeply beautiful thing that happened when Tami taught her sons about the power of menstruation. ---Receive our free video training: Love Your Cycle, Discover the Power of Menstrual Cycle Awareness to Revolutionise Your Life - www.redschool.net/love---The Menstruality Podcast is hosted by Red School. Dr. Sharon Stills interviews Kate Strakosch on “yoni health” for women. The word yoni is a Sanskrit word which describes both the female genitalia and reproductive system, as well as the energetic and emotional connection a woman has to those parts of the body. Our society has stigmatized much surrounding sexual health, and today's episode takes a look at how women can come into better balance with their own bodies and sexuality, as well as supporting overall health by accessing tools such as yoni steam ritual. This is a mind-opening conversation you will want to make time for, regardless of gender! (Kate will be coming back to discuss the men in part 2 of this series so stay tuned.)

I love Charlie's concept of "culturescaping " which gives us insight into the time we were born into and how that impacts our “who” and our personal definitions of feminism and how we should “be” as women. This insight enables us to boldly and bravely look at the culture scape. I believe that there's a wild, primal, sexual power inside every single woman that's waiting to be discovered. On today's episode, I break down the consequences of the ‘good girl' programming, explore the wild woman archetype, and share ways to step into this embodied, powerful side of you. It requires a lot of courage to take off the veil of being an even-keeled, conventionally pretty, and agreeable woman. I've been reflecting on what my life looked like when I was a people-pleaser and ferociously hid parts of my spiritual and sexual self. I was so enmeshed in patriarchal programming and feared the chaos that lived inside me. All of that changed when I discovered my embodiment practice. It's amazing what happens when you learn how to harness your power in a way that's respectful to yourself and express who you truly are. In this intuitive flow, I share how you can integrate your wild woman into every part of your life and highlight how I've seen women transform their lives after embodying this archetype. Plus, I share a few steps for how to unleash your inner wild woman, including an upcoming offering that I have for women who are ready to tap into this more wild, embodied self Listen to the episode on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Google Podcasts, Pocket Casts, Radio Public, or on your favorite podcast platform. The rise of the feminine is here! This is the dawn of the new day. Ancient feminine wisdom once hidden and silenced has awakened and is now ready to rise.""Goosebumps ran down her side, she knew that she was not alone. She was held by all of her sisters who came before her, guided by their voices, strengthened by their goal".-Rebecca CampbellÅrets Wild Feminine Rising Retreat hölls förra helgen men vi hoppas att de återkommer med en ny Retreat innan nästa sommar - annars ses vi där nästa sommar!! For decades upon decades, we as women have been conditioned that if we want to lead, if we want to be powerful, if we want to be taken seriously, we need to be strong, show less emotion, be ruthless, be less caring. Basically, we have been taught to leave our femininity behind as it is a sign of weakness and step toward being more masculine.Thankfully, we know better know, or at least we are starting to. In this episode, we go into why we stepped away from our femininity leaving behind some of our most powerful instincts, and how to connect with it.I am honoured to share this conversation I had with Carole Tetreault, shaman, Reiki master, spiritual guide, and facilitator of the Wild Feminine course. On this weeks episode of The Beats with Kelly Kennedy we sit down with Sunshine Kate to explore Yoni Wellness. “Yoni” is a Sanskrit word meaning sacred opening and temple. This is all encompassing of the reproductive system: physically, emotionally and spiritually. The womb center is our connection to the very essence of what makes us women. This space within a woman's body is the "house" of our Sacred Soul. This connection is accessible regardless if physical organs are present or not. In this episode we explore everything you need to know about Yoni wellness and why it is an integral part of our overall well-being. Kate Strakosch is a nourishment coach who believes in the inner and outer connection of wellness and radiance. On the Secret Witch Show today I vulnerably freestyle on the topic of how to use our body's sensations as a compass for life. I had in mind to talk about desires in this episode, but had an unexpected change as I shared from the heart on what was present for me about how it is necessary to go into our darkness to find our gold and express our Soul's truth. In this episode I illuminate how without honouring the sensations we experience in our darkness, we can't begin to fully feel the sensations of Soulful aliveness. I explore how there is always a price to pay for either ignoring our bodies calls or diving into them to feel them fully - and how the benefits of diving in far outweigh the suppression of sensation we are used to in our modern culture. Finally, I invite you into the deepest unconditional love of your body - in all its sensation, and to harness it as a powerful and wise messenger. What You'll Learn from this Episode: It is a huge part of magical women's journeys to suppress and numb their body's sensations in this culture - and yet, we have the choice to choose out of that in order to create a magical life. Through the magical lens, sensation is a powerful messenger, and we can learn to communicate with our bodies and harness their wisdom to heal - we are our own medicine To fully feel the aliveness of Soul we must be willing to give ourselves permission to really descend into our darkness to alchemise it into gold; that can be inconvenient and messy and painful - we can have to deal with feelings of pain, shame, guilt and fear - but it's also the only path worth walking if we desire to live a magical life Only when we are willing to descend - even if we take it very softly and gently - can we be fully living our truth and able to shine our light into the world Often, our gold is found in the depths of our wounds - and that can be so beneficial for others and allow them to heal and alchemise too, so your darkness is a gift for the world. Who or what is the sacred feminine, and why is her wisdom essential at this time in our collective evolution? Liz Childs Kelly is one of my favorite people, and while I have not known her long, she is someone that feels so familiar - as if I've always known her. I fell into an instant kinship with her after she interviewed me on her own podcast, Home To HER, which I highly recommend subscribing to. In this episode, we dish about her work with the sacred feminine and how the sacred feminine intersects with all things mysterious, Indigenous, natural, messy, and wild. She is everything and yet defies definition. In many ways, she is paradox itself! Enjoy our nuanced and delicious conversation and laugh along with us as we try to find the language to describe the sacred feminine. In addition, we share some personal stories about messy human “stuff” that's coming up in our everyday lives and why these gritty conversations need more space and grace in honor of the sacred feminine. Liz shares her personal story of awakening to the sacred feminine and who she was before and who she was after. What does the word “sacred” mean when describing the feminine source? Hear how Liz has come to know her own experience with the sacred feminine and how it influences her work in the world. Listen in as we talk about God as a male and why we call “bull” on that. Liz realized that there were gaps in our spiritual experiences - especially the spiritual nature of childbirth. Why were women purposefully steered away from knowing her story? How can knowing our herstory and actual history help us reclaim the sacred feminine? What is the connection between the sacred feminine and the natural world? Learn about Liz's experience in mystery school. Why does life get so much better after uncovering the hidden wisdom of the sacred feminine? How can we reclaim our relationship with the sacred feminine? Join us to learn what we can do to seek and explore more of her in our lives. Liz Childs Kelly is a writer, Sacred Feminine researcher and educator, community builder, initiated priestess in the 13 Moons Lineage, and the host of the Home to Her podcast, which is dedicated to amplifying the voices of the Sacred Feminine. She is also the co-host of the Revelry series of online events, which invite women from around the world to participate in ecstatic, embodied celebrations of the gifts of each season, and she is an instructor in the social change platform Advaya's upcoming 12-week online course, The Call of the Wild Feminine. Liz is in the process of completing her first book, titled Home to Her: Reclaiming the Ancient Wisdom of the Sacred Feminine. She is a mother of two and currently lives in central Virginia, USA, on the ancestral lands of the Monacan people.

Welcome to part 1 of our 2 part series on feminine power. We go to the root of what it actually means to be in your feminine power- without the boxes, chains and stories that have been attached to feminine energy by the patriarchy. What it looks like when a woman is truly connected to herself, her body, her womb, and her heart is open. And how to reclaim this for yourself if you find that you are so often disconnected from your feelings and emotions, in your head and projecting your power into things outside of you! What is “power”? How do you define power in your life? And what is the true energy of powerful, grounded, connected certainty that a radiant woman exudes! That you all have the ability to reconnect with. Together, we identify and disprove the paradigms that sensual, powerful, intuitive women are too much. “All of these conditions that have been “pushed onto” women, to have us subconsciously rejecting what we think femininity is supposed to be”. What are the wise wild decisions that come straight from connection to our femininity that often make no sense, but have become the accelerated path to abundance and expansion. Success is no longer rooted in pressure, force and denying our deepest desires. REDEFINING success one woman at a time- tune in and let yourself absorb the energy, concepts and opportunity that lies in this episode. Honoring the natural evolution of a woman and her deepest desires, her heart opening, her connection to her p*ssy and the birthing of a new world for all of us. Enjoy.
