I went into this episode not a huge fan of Disney, but my mindset has been shifted. I learned a lot from Jen Hoffman & Lauren Gaggioli, who dissect the life lessons of Disney movies on their podcast Magical Mindset Moments. I really enjoyed this conversation and hope you do too. In this episode of Keep Moving Forward I interview entrepreneur, podcaster, fitness expert, and founder of the Healthy Moving Company, Jen Hoffman. If you guys are inspired by the stories that my interviewees and I share with you each week, please consider becoming a patron of Keep Moving Forward. At five-years-old, she was run over by a Suburban and was told that for the remainder of her days, she would suffer from heel and ankle pain. For years, she accepted her fate, believing that this was the life she was meant to lead. She had to find ease in this discomfort, but she did not want to. After seeking the advice of a yoga expert by the name of Judith Lasseter, Jen came to the realization that living with chronic pain was in fact not living at all. From that moment, the trajectory of her life changed. She quit her job with Price Waterhouse Coopers, studied everything she could get her hands on about healthy moving, fitness, yoga, restorative exercises, anything that would help in the development of her business idea, and she became an expert in all that she learned. From this new passion to not only live but to live well and desire to impart this wisdom on others suffering as she had suffered, Jen created the Healthy Moving Company and Podcast. Her aim is to help all who seek her assistance experience the lasting improvements of continuous healthy moving. Her premise is not that you need to carve out chunks of your day to go to the gym or frequent a spin class, but rather, that living healthily is something that you achieve through your actions at every moment throughout your day. You simply have to learn to weave these positive changes into your hectic schedule. Like the life she leads as an entrepreneur as well as the one in constant search of living well, Jen has come to internalize the saying “be at ease with your disease.” It might not always be comfortable, but progress begins outside of your comfort zone. It was a pleasure to speak with Jen and I am so grateful for the opportunity to have her on my show. I hope that you all enjoy my discussion with healthy moving expert, Jen Hoffman.
