Getting the word out last night on @offthelipradioshow. We have to stop and put a pause on the MPA designations for Santa Cruz and CA. They are trying to push these through without anyone knowing. We are gaining lots of support from important people like Santa Cruz County Supervisor who also serves on the CA Coastal Commission. Take a listen to the podcast and hear more. Justin really lays out the “why” this is a bad idea. Please get informed. Please get involved if you have any cares. Do you know that an MPA is “no take” that means you can't even take home that shell of the beach in pleasure point
The prevention of MPA (Marine Protected Area) …. This is a BAD idea and will be fought by our community who are going to stand up on the rooftops to stop this proposed action from becoming law…. listen to this podcast and please join the fight!

Slam the Gavel welcomes new guest, Rhonda Reyna to the podcast. Rhonda shares her story about what she and her 13 year-old daughter have gone through at the hands of the uneducated and corrupt police of Santa Cruz County, California. Reyna's daughter has a manipulative and coercively controlling wealthy father who has prevailed in family court in order to separate Mother from Daughter. He is also paying Dr. Rebecca Bailey, a reunification therapist from," Transitioning Families," to continue to brainwash her daughter. SIDE NOTE:Kathleen Russell is looking for other victims of Dr. Rebecca Bailey. The issue at hand is law enforcement is failing to protect Reyna and her daughter and participating in the family court kidnapping as evidenced by the two videos up on YouTube (in podcast notes). Reyna has filed a complaint on Santa Cruz PD, but so far no backing from the PUBLIC outraging directly to them for what was done to her then 13 year-old daughter Reyna believes law enforcement needs to be transformed. There are too many sociopaths abusing power and harming women and children and the Family Court needs to be Abolished. Tuesday's Santa Cruz City Council meeting was the last with Martine Watkins as mayor. In a ceremony, the city council swore in Justin Cummings as the new mayor for 2020. Donna Meyers will be vice mayor. Cummings is Santa Cruz’s first black male mayor. It was a difficult year for the city council — accusations of disrespectful behavior between councilmembers, an investigation into workplace misconduct by two councilmembers, an ongoing recall campaign against those same councilmembers, and a decision for the council to undergo mediation. Mayor Martine Watkins, Cummings and Meyers all gave speeches Tuesday with ideas on how the city can heal and move forward. We're sharing the audio recording because we thought it was worth a listen. For a full report on Tuesday's meeting, visit santacruzlocal.org.

In this week's show, I'm talking about needles and why if we saw less of them, everyone would be happy. I'm also talking about what the county can do to make that happen. And I'm still throwing virtual dap at Justin Cummings, and how I'm hoping for a new “pragmatic majority”. I'm also talking about a couple items from the next Weekly Dump, and throwing support to the Janus staff workers this week.
