Many of you are still trying to figure out why people are walking around wearing shirts that say “let's go Brandon.” Long story short, never before has a sideline sports reporter made more of a cultural impact. The Associated press likes to report that it all started at an Oct. 2 NASCAR race, but that's not the whole story. It really started in early September, primarily at college football games, and then spreading to other sporting events as fans would break out in chants of “F*#K Joe Biden. A month later, at the Talladega Superspeedway in Alabama, Brandon Brown, a 28-year-old driver, had won his first Xfinity Series Race and was being interviewed by NBC Sports reporter, Kelli Stavast. The crowd behind Brown was chanting…what we still don't know, as Stavast has not publicly commented, is whether she knew what they were chanting and was trying to provide some “family friendly” cover to viewers, or whether she legitimately misheard the crowd. Either way, she suggested on live TV that they were chanting “Let's go, Brandon” to cheer the driver, and it immediately went viral. Since “Let's go Brandon,” contains no profanity, it has become the rallying cry of at least half the nation to express their displeasure with the 46th President of the United States. https://apnews.com/article/lets-go-brandon-what-does-it-mean-republicans-joe-biden-ab13db212067928455a3dba07756a160 And while its' sentiment is crass, crude, vulgar, immature, and indicative of the society we live in…can you really blame them?I always remind you that I am here to merely call political balls and strikes. I have praised and criticized Presidents Clinton, Bush (W), Obama, and Trump equally. And, yes, that's just one way of pointing out how old I am. In all seriousness, every one of those presidents did both great and awful things, and I have never been shy about pointing out both. Unfortunately, as we've talked about, in today's political environment, it is no longer allowed to not be in either the left or right tribe, so suggesting that a Democrat or Republican president did anything good at all is a surefire way to be ostracized by anyone in the opposing tribe. So, bring it on, libturds, because it's time to acknowledge what is painfully obvious to, according to all polling, everyone that isn't in your tribe: President Biden is a disaster.Yes, I know he hasn't even been in office for a year. Sadly, the way most Americans feel is “I can't believe he hasn't even been president for a year!”Anyone not wearing their tribal glasses please feel free to present me with anything that President Biden has accomplished that has been, in any way, positive. He most certainly has not governed across the aisle and found compromise as he promised, nor has he in any way united the country. The one thing that he was elected to do, more than anything, was manage covid better, which he has botched in every way. In fact, by his very own metric, he should resign. President Biden may not recall what he said during a 2020 campaign debate last fall, but that doesn't make it any less true: “Anyone who is responsible for that many deaths should not remain as President of the United States of America.” At the time the U.S. had recorded 220,000 Covid deaths.Covid deaths this year have now surpassed the toll in 2020 with 350,000 since Inauguration Day. https://www.wsj.com/articles/bidens-covid-death-milestone-biden-administration-trump-11637708781Even things covid-related that are popular, he has mangled. Poll after poll shows that overwhelming numbers of Americans support vaccine mandates, yet his heavy-handed, angry grandpa presentation has further split Americans. Rather than recognizing that Anthony Fauci has become a polarizing figure and replacing him with not only a better adviser, but a better messenger, Biden has just lumbered along, making things worse by the day. As of this writing, his administration is once again ramping up the fear over the new Covid Omicron variant, as the never-ending pandemic plods forward. Never mind the fact that the very South African doctor who discovered the variant has made it clear that while it's very easily spread, the symptoms are mild at worse. So in other words, yes, exactly as predicted, we're all now just afraid to get the sniffles. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/covid-vaccine-mandate-work-poll-americans-favor/https://universitybusiness.com/more-than-70-of-college-students-favor-vaccine-mandates-most-republicans-dont/https://www.medicaleconomics.com/view/majority-of-americans-favor-president-s-vaccine-mandate-pollhttps://www.foxnews.com/health/south-african-doctor-omicron-variant-symptoms-unusual-mildhttps://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10251327/Fauci-warns-arrival-Omicron-variant-unusual-symptoms-inevitable.html What of other things? The withdrawal from Afghanistan was an unmitigated disaster, global supply chain challenges are being completely mismanaged, along with historic levels of inflation, including skyrocketing prices for gas, food and other goods, much of which is being exasperated by his policies, most notably his shutting down of any type of domestic pursuit of energy independence. China is eating our lunch, and according to one study has already surpassed us to become the richest nation on Earth, the southern border is a catastrophe, and crime is surging across America.https://www.timesnownews.com/business-economy/world-news/article/china-overtakes-us-to-become-worlds-richest-nation-as-global-wealth-surges/832538https://www.pewresearch.org/fact-tank/2021/08/13/migrant-encounters-at-u-s-mexico-border-are-at-a-21-year-high/https://www.foxnews.com/category/us/immigrationhttps://www.reuters.com/world/us/flash-mob-thieves-target-us-retail-stores-black-friday-2021-11-27/https://www.cnn.com/2021/06/22/politics/crime-surge-white-house-concern/index.htmlhttps://www.aljazeera.com/news/2021/11/3/hld-surge-in-us-homicides-continues-in-2021-whyThings are so bad that Democrats are starting to try to claim that Biden's policies are actually popular, citing no actual evidence, but that there's um….a disconnect, yeah a disconnect between how thrilled Americans are with the direction of the country and their ability to express gratitude towards the President. https://news.yahoo.com/disconnect-between-bidens-popular-policies-163520184.htmlDefenders of Biden try to manipulate statistics as best they can and point out that the economy is growing, but of course, how could it not, since those numbers are compared year to year? Of course the economy is surging compared to a year ago, after we had shut down a nation for the better part of 6 months collectively. And, by the way, Brandon…you're welcome from those of us who are living with the virus and embracing life rather than continuing to cower in fear. The only other stat the Brandon tribe has is low unemployment, which is a total canard because the unemployment rate only measures people actively looking for jobs. The truth is that tens of millions of Americans are not working because they either don't have to, thanks to entitlement programs, or because they're afraid of a virus they keep being told to be terrified of, even though vaccinated Americans have a .001% chance of even getting a breakthrough case of Covid, and if they do, they won't wind up in the hospital or dead. https://www.cnn.com/2021/07/31/health/fully-vaccinated-people-breakthrough-hospitalization-death/index.htmlhttps://www.cnbc.com/2021/10/20/global-shortage-of-workers-whats-going-on-experts-explain.htmlhttps://www.bloomberg.com/news/audio/2021-11-28/why-job-openings-are-surging-podcasthttps://www.usatoday.com/story/opinion/2021/11/28/many-ways-america-remains-crisis-president-biden-blame/6381467001/ President Biden is a calamity, and there is no light at the end of the tunnel, and no reason to believe that things are going to turn around. Perhaps the only thing more horrifying than three more years of this would be three years of President Kamala Harris. America's two greatest economic decades have been the 80's and 90's, when one party ruled the White House and the other ruled congress. For the good of America, we should all pray that the Republicans regain control of congress and, at the very least, stop the Biden agenda. The days of “working together” are over, and until someone like Mike Rowe sacrifices himself and decides to truly unite the nation, all we can hope for is endless wild swings of the pendulum, hoping that the end result is something close to the middle. P&C drink and review Southern Tier Nitro Coconut Truffle, then discuss the "Let's Go Brandon" phenomenon. The "Let's Go Brandon" chant should have been a 2-day story. Brandon Brown wins his first NASCAR race. Kelli Stavast hears the crowd chanting "F Joe Biden," and interprets it as "Let's Go Brandon." It's funny and silly, and that should have been that. But then, people who have a bone to pick with Joe Biden started picking it up as a less crude way of making their disappointment known.
An anti-Biden rap song inspired by the viral “Let's go Brandon!” trend is now sitting at the top of the iTunes hip-hop chart. The song, performed by rapper Loza Alexander and entitled “Let's Go Brandon,” first went viral on TikTok before making a fast rise up the iTunes hip-hop chart to clinch the number one spot. The “Lets Go Brandon” song includes the lyrics, “Don't nobody like his ass, huh? Tried to cover up, by telling the people are saying ‘Let's go Brandon”. But we know what they saying, though. You can hear the chant in every post.” The official music video has more than 1 million views as of Monday morning. The song was inspired by the “Let's Go Brandon!” trend that has been sweeping the country since NBC sports reporter Kelli Stavast interviewed NASCAR driver Brandon Brown following his victory at Alabama's Talladega Super Speedway earlier this month. During the interview, the crowd could clearly be heard chanting “Fuck Joe Biden” in the background, which the NBC reporter desperately tried to pass off as “Let's Go Brandon!” --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/global-reportage/support
