John Wright is an author and past racer who started driving in 1970 and after a self-described, undistinguished record, and running out of racing funds, switched from racing to writing about the drivers, mechanics, and builders in the sport. Initially, John's stories of Canadian drivers and cars were published in the Canadian publication ‘Old Autos' in Bothwell, Ontario followed by the California-based magazine ‘Victory Lane'. From there, other publications published interviews John was doing at vintage events and things took off from there. John goes to vintage events around the country, including Mosport, Road America, Watkins Glen and the Laguna Seca tracks. He and his racing friends meet and talk about how fast we were… or not. Today he is here to share his newest book titled Fast Faster Fastest: The Bill Sadler Story from Dalton Watson Fine Books.

NASCAR is headed to the ROVAL this weekend for the final race of the round of 12 (5:30). Steve Letarte and the guys discuss which drivers are safe, who can point their way in, and who has to win to advance. They also discuss racing strategy and expectations with the new track configuration (9:00).The Professor lists the drivers in tier one of his models and they are shocked by two names that are missing (10:50). Shane van Gisbergen is a fan favorite but not on the model. Denny Hamlin had a less-than-stellar start to the Playoffs last weekend in Atlanta. Steve Letarte chats about why he didn't like Hamlin's strategy. On the flip side, The Professor's model nailed it with seven of the top nine correctly predicted.NASCAR is now headed to Watkins Glen and Letarte breaks down what to expect with the new tires before the guys handicap the field.In tier 1 of the predictor are: Tyler Reddick, Chase Elliott, Kyle Larson, and Christopher Bell.Chris Buescher sits in tier 2 but he is the hammer of the week, especially with plus money for a Top-10 bet.Letarte is high on William Byron but with him being second in the books, but it's not as easy of a bet to play. He has his ticket punched to the second round and the guys think this allows him to race for the win.Juan Pablo Montoya returns to NASCAR driving the third car for 23XI this weekend. Letarte knows Montoya is a talented driver but not being in a Cup car for a while makes him believe he might struggle a little. Shane van Gisbergen is always a name to watch on the road courses but don't expect to see him in Victory Lane.Buescher isn't the only driver that is worth betting for a Top-10 finish. Tampa Timms also likes Austin Cindric, Alex Bowman, and Logano. He also likes Ty Gibbs and AJ Allmendinger for pre-made Top-10 parlay. And, he is making one of his own with Bell and Reddick at plus money.Margin of victory didn't go the guy's way last week thanks to the caution but they believe it's worth a bet this weekend. They also take a look at average finishing position and a few matchup bets.With football in full swing the guys also hand out some of their bets for college and NFL. Sting Ray Robb has the coolest name in motorsports. As an up and coming driver in the NTT IndyCar Series racing for AJ Foyt, he's looking to build on his junior level career experience and work towards getting to Victory Lane. Denny Hamlin and Jared Allen are back after a bittersweet race in Michigan. Before getting into the race, Denny and Jared talk about NASCAR taking away Austin Dillon's playoff berth and how the appeal process works. Denny also explains what happened last year during his appeal hearing for his incident with Ross Chastain.Tyler Reddick was victorious on Monday, getting his second win of the season, but a late-race caution almost ruined it. The guys debate whether NASCAR's caution for Martin Truex Jr. was the right call. Another decision discussed was the start time of the race. If there is bad weather expected like NASCAR got on Sunday, should the start time be moved up? Or, should the start time be earlier for every race?Denny had a fast car when the race started on Sunday, but things got bad when he spun out trying to pass Bubba Wallace. He explains why the mistake happened and what was going on in his mind. Denny and Jared also answer a question circulating on social media: is Kyle Larson a better driver than Max Verstappen? One factor teams didn't expect to play such a big role in the race was the wind. The driver who got the worst of this was Corey LaJoie, who found himself airborne. And while it looked bad, Denny believes flipping is a better outcome than hitting the wall head on. Tyler Reddick ended up in Victory Lane and has been on a tear lately. Denny isn't shocked, and it's this kind of driving that made him go sign Reddick in the first place. Sonoma's repave proved to be a success as we saw slick track conditions cause chaos early on in Sunday's  Toyota/Save Mart 350, there would be 8 cautions by the end of stage 2, but by stage three the drivers got a handle on their cars and the fans got to see a bunch of strategies play out.
