Christine was at a breaking point when she met the guest for this episode, Lauren Brim. Her third daughter was born with colic, which is a very general term to explain a baby in discomfort and typically crying all the time. After following a friend's recommendation to try Craniosacral Fascial Therapy from expert Lauren Brim, Chrisitne's daughter Josephine found relief from her colic and made a bowel movement after days of constipation. Lauren also helped Christine uncover the underlying causes of the colic and discomfort for Josephine. Craniosacral therapy is a gentle massage that uses a light touch and stretch techniques to assess and release restrictions of the connective tissue throughout the whole body. This can help relax and release tension that is causing pain, it helps to align the body structurally, and gets all the systems working properly - like eating, pooping, sleeping, and basically normalizing a baby's central nervous system. It also helps to restore a calm balance to the natural biorhythms of the child. Dr. Lauren Brim is the creator of Bodywork for Babies International. She is a Craniosacral Fascial Therapist, an Advanced BodyTalk Practitioner and Instructor, and she runs a busy practice of treating babies and working with families in Los Angeles while teaching this work to others in her online course. She loves sharing this gentle work with our youngest population and watching the miracles that unfold with feeding, breathing and development and how this early intervention helps not only the baby but the whole family thrive. Whether you are dealing with colic and need relief or you're interested in hearing about the benefits of this therapy for yourself, Lauren's here to explain: 5:00 What is cranial sacral therapy 7:30 Symptoms you may have injured fascia 9:00 Why craniosacral therapy is great for babies 11:00 How craniosacral therapy helps the body heal itself 12:00 Why a breastfeeding mother needs a healthy nervous system 14:00 how often she sees tight fascia in mouths of babies 16:45 How early can babies receive craniosacral therapy 19:00 Explanation of a craniosacral therapy session for babies 20:00 What else to expect during craniosacral therapy 21:28 Relief you can expect after a craniosacral therapy session 23:29 The powerful work of craniosacral therapy 26:15 How often does one need craniosacral therapy 27:53 You can learn to do craniosacral therapy with Lauren's course For more on Lauren and her course www.bodyworkforbabiesint.com Follow on social @bodyworkforbabiesinternational Connect with Christine on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/christinebullock/ Connect with Christine on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/ChristineBullockFitness Follow Christine on Pinterest: https://www.pinterest.com/chrissybullock/_created/ Text Christine questions at 1-310-361-8697 Sponsored by Kayo Body Care Kayo Body Care was the first to create Face Grade Body Care® products. Babies need bodywork on the day they are born. Birth can create injury to the fascia, and with bodywork babies can feed better, sleep better, and feel better. Babies are only as balanced as their environment and bodywork can be applied to both mom and baby from day one to relax the central nervous system. This technique supports the baby's own healing. Babies/moms are seen at home or in the office. Interested in learning more? Tune in to hear Dr. Lauren Brim discuss all the details. #41 - Dr. Lauren Brim, sexologist, author, coach, and the founder of the Adult Play Mat, is sharing her thoughts on how comprehensive sex education can create a healthier environment for all of us to live in, why there is stigma around sexually transmitted diseases, and why there doesn't need to be. We explore the challenges of balancing our need for social connection with the need for individual exploration and freedom, and discuss why it is important for medical practitioners to be educated on sex and pleasure. Today's topics branch out into how self-pleasure can help women to have better sex with their partners, before we talk about how understanding the three gates of orgasm can lead to an enriched experience. Finally, Dr. Brim shares her thoughts on how learning about sexuality can enrich all your relationships, far beyond the intimate ones, and we land on the revelation that embracing yourself and your authenticity can lead to greater confidence and a sense of freedom in your life. Lauren has worked in the healing arts for over a decade and began to specialize in women's sexual health after training to be a midwife and witnessing that health care providers weren't speaking with women about sex. In this episode, we talk about how sex enriches our lives, how our bodies relate to our businesses and what is possible for us if we let our sexual energy be free. Lauren shares how her own pain and frustration pushed her to research and share her story. We live in a society where sexuality is so suppressed and as women, we are taught not to talk about this. This changes how we are in the world, our relationships, how we relate with money and how much money we are able to make and receive. Highlights you won’t want to miss: How sex can help you become powerful in your business. What is sexual energy and how it influences your results as an entrepreneur. How sex enriches our lives, our physical health, and our spiritual and emotional health. How Lauren’s frustration after training to be a midwife led her to research and to write her book: The new rules of sex. What is sexual liberation? And what is your life going to look like when you achieve it? Why it’s so important to be able to embrace who you are without feeling any shame. Why no fantasy is bad or wrong. How to bring intimacy into your relationship and your business. Shareable Quotes: “We don’t spend 15 years on the planet and then suddenly start having a sexual relationship.” - Lauren Brim “Is it safe to be that powerful, to have that desire, to be that sexual woman when the world is constantly telling you: I don’t know if I can love you if you are that sexual or have that much desire, and you have this belief deep down that something must be wrong with you.” - Lauren Brim “They are powerful women, leaders in the arena, they are not actually afraid of failing. They are actually afraid of how powerful they are.” - Emily Aarons “We don’t need to use language to communicate; we have power over our own bodies.” - Lauren Brim Resources Mentioned: Free Resource: Free Intimacy Meditation Lauren's Website Find Lauren on Facebook Find Lauren on Instagram Adult Play Mat

Episode 2: Let’s Talk About Sex: Learning to Fully Love and Enjoy Your Sexuality with Author and Sexual Wellness Coach, Lauren Brim Welcome to episode two of Embraced Podcast! Today we are talking to Lauren Brim, a mother, author, and sexual wellness coach. Lauren is passionate about helping women move through physical and psychological barriers to help them more fully enjoy and love their sexuality. She has two books out: The New Rules of Sex and The New American Family. She also blogs about sexual health, happiness, and motherhood, and has several courses aimed at sexual education, all of which you can find on her website, laurenbrim.com. Lauren first became interested in the business of wellness after suffering from a spinal injury dancing with the Radio City Rockettes in 2004. Lauren was forced to confront the emotions underlying her physical health which completely shifted her outlook on her life. She began to specialize in women’s reproductive health and through her training to be a midwife she realized that no one in the healthcare industry was taking the time to speak with women about their sexuality, and that women were being given one-size-fits-all treatments that ignored the emotional aspects of their sexual health. From that point on, Lauren devoted herself to “[freeing] women from the old paradigm of sexuality and relationships and helping them discover who they truly were, what they needed, and the pleasure that was possible in their lives and bodies.” I had so much fun talking to Lauren about the life experiences that lead her to becoming a sexual wellness coach and how she chose a nontraditional path to create her own family. In today's episode we discuss: -Her experience as a dancer with the rockettes -Her unexpected departure from a career as a midwife -How she got into sexual coaching and how it affected her own sexuality. -Her decision to have a baby with a friend -The pros and cons of co-parenting with a friend -Sex after giving birth -Why women struggle with sexual desire and expressing their sexual needs Hope you enjoy this episode as much as I did! xo
Episode 21: Body image, trauma and sexuality. Dr. Nina talks with Lauren Brim, author of "The New Rules Of Sex" about the relationship between body image, shame, and sexuality. They explore the underlying reasons why so many women struggle with shame about their bodies and sexuality, and how that relates to body image, weight and food. For more information on Lauren Brim please visit laurenbrim.com
Women's sexuality, and sexuality as a whole, are deeply influenced by cultural beliefs, religion and upbringing. August chats with coach and author Lauren Brim about her journey from a costly search for "the one," to a whole new view of sex and relationships. Learn the real meaning of "sodomy," facts about anal play, why you should love flaccid penises and sex-positive parenting. Dr. Megan Fleming weighs in for a listener, whose boyfriend can't maintain an erection without porn.
Shownotes: http://orgasmicdiscourses.com/ep6-new-rules-of-sex Lauren Brim is one of those women who manifest their passions and change the world by their actions. She is not just a sex coach - she is a spiritual coach, drawing her knowledge from her dance career, her background in the healing arts, and various other fields. She just birthed her new book “The New Rules of Sex” (Note: she is a midwife, too). Outlining a new picture of sex in the 21th century. The book “is an examination of the Western cultural beliefs that shape how we judge ourselves and others in regards to sexual behavior”. This book is definitely on my reading list! In this podcast Lauren and I have a look at exactly this aspect - why we try to fit into a model of sex which we are taught instead of what is true for us. In this episode, we go into detail about: • Lauren’s life and how she arrived at the point she is right now • Why society has such a big impact on our sex life • Why we try to fit into a model of sex which might not be true to us • How to figure out what our true desires are • Why sexual empowerment is still in its infancy • Why awareness is so important to start with • And some more juicy and useful information
