We kick off another Inside Music Row with the mention of Kenny Chesney.  We all know Kenny is quite fond of the Virgin Islands, and spends a great deal of time there, so it's no surprise that he is donating proceeds from his new "Life On A Rock" album to "Friends of the Virgin Islands National Park."  The Roys are up next as they are going full throttle with their new single and title track of their new album, "Gypsy Runaway Train."  Also in the news is "Everybody Has A Story" - a new musical collaboration with patients form Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital and music row superstars.  Through thte last six years, patiets in clinical music therapy sessions have written songs as they were being treated for a variety of illnesses.  Artists like Kix Brooks, Vince Gill, Amy Grant, Faith Hill, and Phil Vassar have lent their voices to bring these tracks to life.  We also mention the return of "Dancin' In The District" - the series will be called "Nashville Dancin' presented by Dollar General" and will be family-friendly out on the riverfront with free parking at LP Field.  Look for the series to kick off June 13th.  Finally, we go Inside The Song with Ben Hayslip to hear about a hit song he co-wrote for Rodney Atkins called "Farmer's Daughter."

Throughout the CMA Music Festival, fans are the number one priority for the artists.  One example of that is seeing Colt Ford delivering CMA Fest survival kits with Church’s Chicken and Biscuits to fans at 5:30 am waiting to get into the convention center.  Now that’s giving back to the fans!  Besides meeting their favorite artists, one highlight of the week is the incredible concert series at LP Field, where some of country music’s top performers took the stage for four nights of fun.  We caught up with a few of them backstage to hear about their CMA Fest experiences.

Hey there!  I’m Bailey, and I’m so glad you joined us for another Inside Music Row.  The 2010 CMA Music Festival is now in the books, and it looks like very positive news for Nashville.  Many in town were worried that visitors would stay away due to the May floods, but record numbers of fans turned out.  Daily attendance at Riverfront was up almost six and a half percent over 2009, and all four nights of shows at LP Field were sold out.  Overall it was very positive news for Music City.  Now the week started off with the City of Hope Celebrity Softball Game.  Founded in 1913, City of Hope is the leading research center dedicated to the prevention, treatment and cure of cancer and other life-threatening diseases.  For twenty years, the organization has held the annual fundraising celebrity softball game at Greer Stadium, so you never know who will show up.  Here’s Kelly.
