On this episode we stopped by Elev8ed Hair Lounge and sat down with the owner (and official Tip Touch barber) Milca aka Trippy Barber to catch up with our friend and entrepreneur. Over the past year the pandemic has created challenges for many of us along the way. For Trippy and her family, it was no different. Faced with looming financial pressures, raising a new baby and even repossession of their new car, she said “f*** it” and took life by the horns. Along the way, Trippy refused to lose hope nor forget what made her. With entrepreneurial instincts and her own unique sense of humor to boot, she decided it was time to grow beyond the barber shop and tap into the lucrative business of women’s beauty. Put simply, she went from fades to microblades. It was such a good conversation for us and we think you’ll enjoy it too. Please check Trippy Barber out if you are in the Everett, WA area! Quarantine culture is coming. Maybe. So we start with a look at the coronavirus in comedy, COVID in culture, etc. And then: Knives Out is Rian Johnson's fifth feature film as writer and director. It's mostly a howcatchem in the vein of Columbo and an all-star ensemble cast murder mystery in the tradition of Agatha Christie adaptations like Murder on the Orient Express. It was nominated for three Golden Globes, including Best Picture (Musical or Comedy), and Johnson's screenplay was nominated for an Oscar. It's out on DVD/Blu-ray/4K and for rental on iTunes/Amazon/etc. this week. The subject of how to care for a client’s permanent makeup during the healing process can be confusing. Should you recommend dry healing or wet? Should you provide your client with an aftercare product? If so, which kind? What about washing the area? Tina Davies @tinadavies shares her personal approach to aftercare using practical examples. Tina Davies is a permanent make-up artist, inventor, product designer, wife, and mom from Toronto, Canada. She is the creator of the world's first fully disposable Microblade and the beloved I ️INK pigment line along with a host cult favorite PMU supplies and accessories. During her career, she has completed over 15,000 permanent make-up procedures and was one of the first artists to bring microblading to North America. Her passion is product design and sharing her techniques and insights to help her fellow artists improve their art. Follow Tina as she brings her next inventions to the PMU world! @tinadavies @tinadaviesprofessional
If you think all microblades are the same - you're wrong! Although they may share certain similarities, there are a variety of shapes, sizes and widths available. To provide clients with optimal results, it is important to understand these details. On today's episode, Clara @modernbeautynj breaks down the differences and shares her personal recommendations. Clara has been with the AAM since 2017. Prior to PMU she was a MUA and skin tech at a beauty studio in NY. That’s where she developed a love for PMU, after witnessing so many disasters coming thru those doors. Clara has been doing private 1-1 training for the past 2 years and has recently started doing group sessions to help PMU Artists gain additional confidence in their skills after they have completed their fundamentals course.

We also talk about an Olympic Men's Figure Skater and how we feel sorry for him because he completely choked in the competition yesterday because he got into his own head. Sandy is getting something called a "microblade" for her eyebrows even though she has no idea what it is. Marcus has learned something really gross about slowly becoming vegetarian that he did not expect. #WhoCanRelate

Michael McNerney, VP of Software Solutions and Network Security at Supermicro, joins Conversations in the Cloud to talk about disaggregated computing. Michael discusses Supermicro’s MicroBlade disaggregated architecture, which unlocks the interdependence between the major server subsystems, enabling the independent upgrade of CPU+memory, I/O, storage, and power/cooling. Jake and Michael highlight that MicroBlade’s disaggregated rack scale design optimizes data center refresh cycles and delivers better overall performance. Michael talks about Supermicro’s transition toward a more evergreen model that allows data centers to run at optimal efficiency, while being able to upgrade on independent cycles.
