Kev sits down to chat with Actor turned Director Philip Barantini. After seeing his debut feature Villain starring the awesome Craig Fairbrass, Kev just had to get the Director on to talk. Before we get there though we find out that Barantini has had a varied career in Acting. Starting at a young age on Brit show Dream Team as young Billy O'Neil before moving onto Band of Brothers working for Spielberg and Hanks. Movies wise Philip broke into flicks like Ned Kelly, The Escapist and recently Nightshooters. All of this before turning to Directing with Short films like Seconds Out which is showing at Romford Film Festival this year. Boiling Point was his second short, a one take short starring Stephen Graham which has now been turned into a feature film coming soon. Villian is available on Dvd and all good streaming sites, we recommend the crap out of the flick. Its a London Gangster movie with a ton of heart and a compelling story breathing fresh life into the genre... Villian on Amazon Click Here Thank you again to Philip for coming on the show and also for being so open with his experiences. A true inspiration. Philip Barantini on Twitter

When Jean-Paul Ly moved from Cambodia to London to make it in the movie business, he predicted that within three years, he would be the lead in a martial arts action film. It only took two and a half years until he completed work on Jailbreak (out now on Netflix) – Cambodia’s first martial arts film and a runaway international success. Despite being made on a shoestring budget and facing a number of on-set challenges, Jean-Paul Ly’s hard work as the lead actor as well as one of its main fight directors helped the film to receive rave reviews from The Hollywood Reporter and Variety, and win international awards from film festivals including Fantasia, where it beat competition from huge Hollywood productions like Atomic Blonde. Since then, Jean-Paul Ly has been working on a number of exciting new projects, from the UK action comedy Nightshooters (which gets its world premiere at the Raindance Film Festival in London on 6-7 October, and lands on Blu-ray, DVD and digital download from 26 December), to 14 Fists (directed by the Nightshooters' Bart Ruspoli), The Prey (a new action film from the team behind Jailbreak), Vengeance 2, and The Division, a short film which also marks Jean-Paul Ly’s directorial debut. Jean-Paul Ly will also be appearing in Disney’s Artemis Fowl, directed by Kenneth Branagh, which will be released in August 2019. Marc Price is writer, director, camera operator, editor & producer of COLIN, which was internationally renowned for its minuscule production budget and became known as the ‘£45/$70 feature film'. Told entirely from the perspective of a sympathetic zombie, COLIN received a wealth of critical acclaim and screened at the Cannes Film Festival as well as Raindance, Frightfest and Sitges. COLIN was even praised in a recent GQ interview by Martin Scorsese who called it "Savage, with an energy that takes the zombie idea to another level".Marc performed similar duties on his second feature "Magpie", which was released theatrically in the US last summer. Marc has also directed bumpers and shorts for Film 4's Frightfest and is currently developing 2 television series with Lime Pictures and E4 along with a zombie-based show for CBBC and PBS through MopMedia. He has recently completed production on two features this year. An action thriller Nightshooters (distributor, Ascendant Releasing) and western Fistful of Lead (distributor, Sony US). Marc occasionally works with the BFI Education Department, passing on his experience as a low budget film maker and often inviting students to work on various film projects. In this episode we chat about Star Wars, getting fired from productions, his new films Nightshooters & Fistful of Lead, and tons more! Pre Show Notes— Want to help me make a short trailer project? The weather is finally getting nice in Philly, and I'm finally going to make something again.I'm aiming for a September 2018 shoot date for a fun, fake trailer project here in the Philly area.
