RAVENS BEFRIEND DALLAS AND DISPLACE THE COCKATOOS Colleague Jeremy Zakis. Zakis updates the backyard wildlife saga, noting the arrival of intelligent Ravens that have befriended his dog, Dallas. Unlike the aggressive Cockatoos that damaged a neighbor's roof, the Ravens displayed strategic dominance by organizedly displacing the Cockatoos from a pine tree. Zakis describes the Ravens' "surgical" approach, using vocal harassment and gradual escalation rather than brute force to claim the territory. He observes that while the Cockatoos still lurk, the Ravens have established control. Additionally, he counts at least five Magpie families in the area, with several actively visiting his property to interact with Dallas.

Tragic Magpie Attack Blinds Girl; Massive Eastern Brown Snake Invades Home. Jeremy Zakis reports that a massive five-foot-long great eastern brown snake was found rearing up outside a woman's bathroom in Veil View, Queensland, necessitating a snake catcher. This highly venomous species requires prompt antivenom administration within the "golden hour." Separately, a 12-year-old girl in Australind, Western Australia, was tragically attacked by an aggressive magpie, which targeted her eye, causing severe damage and potential sight loss. Dallas the Dog Fosters Trust with Magpie Family, Enhancing Their Intelligence. Jeremy Zakis chronicles how Dallas the dog has adopted a magpie family, leading to a comfortable second generation residing nearby. Jeremy Zakis discusses how the destructive behavior of cockatoos is confirmed as they pulled so many nails from a neighbor's iron roof that the structure is now drooping, necessitating expensive, specialized repairs. Cockatoos are described as "pure evil with wings" and are known for tearing up building structures. Conversely, Dallas the poodle's friends, the magpies, are growing bolder. One teenage magpie walked four feet into Jeremy's kitchen and calmly listened to him before eventually walking back out. Australian magpies are even said to have a unique, twangy "Australian accent."

3.  Magpie Breeding Causes Bird Substitution: Dallas the Dog Meets the Courageous Currawong Family Guest:Jeremy Zakis Dallas the dog was "absolutely dumbfounded" before dawn when he found a family of currawongs on the back lawn instead of his usual magpies. Currawongs are similar in size to magpies but resemble crows, retaining some white feathers. They appear to be substituting for the magpies, who are now dedicating more time to their nests during breeding season. Dallas eventually became accepting of the currawongs. These substitute birds are courageous, sometimes standing at the kitchen window looking in at eye level. Furthermore, the destructive cockatoos ("cockies"), known for stripping pine trees and dropping debris like half-eaten pine cones and sticks, are also staying away during their own breeding cycle, offering a "nice little reprieve."
