This was a wild and interesting interview!I sat down with Lisa to discuss her role in this very disturbing movie, and we also chatted about her death scene. Getting the insight behind that is pure gold! I loved how she described how she prepared for it, how the scene was shot in one take (which is very rare), and how the atmosphere was still very chill afterwards. There is no question that she is indeed very talented and it's no wonder I'm a huge fan of her and her work. I also had a fanboy moment speaking about her role in one of my favorite Sci-Fi shows, “Altered Carbon” – she went into great detail about her scene in the show. We also spoke about fan theories in this movie; one she hasn't heard: Nicholas Cage's character, Longlegs being a former pop/rock star that sold his soul to the devil. Which may explain his high tone of voice and screaming. Though there may be a plethora of fan theories about this movie, you definitely won't miss the easter eggs and nods towards other horror movies. You will have to watch the movie to catch them. By far, this movie is one of the scariest movies I have watched because I have a thing for serial killers and true crime. The connections made in this movie are just uncanny. The cults and the dolls, the blaming the devil, etc. Longlegs is now streaming on Hulu and be sure to have the lights on when you watch it. I can guarantee that you will not be disappointed. You can also follow and support this very talented actress on Instagram!

Lisa Chandler has been making an explosive impact in the entertainment industry, both figuratively and literally, leaving an indelible mark that resonates with sheer force. In the second season of the MGM+ series "Billy the Kid", Lisa portrays Susan McSween, a prominent cattlewoman of the 19th century, once called the "Cattle Queen of New Mexico", and the widow of Alexander McSween. This epic romantic adventure series, created by the acclaimed Michael Hirst of "Vikings" fame, delves into the captivating life story of Billy the Kid (Tom Blyth), also known as William H. Bonney. Throughout her career in film and television, Lisa has consistently delivered standout performances across a spectrum of genres and platforms. This summer Lisa can be seen in Neon's highly-anticipated film, LONGLEGS, and most recently she appeared in Apple TV+'s “Monarch: Legacy of Monsters”, alongside Kurt and Wyatt Russell. Additional television credits include CBS' gripping drama "Fire Country", The CW's hit teenage drama “Riverdale", Paramount Plus' limited event series The Stand”, and Netflix's sci-fi series “Altered Carbon". Past feature film credits include Paramount's Buddy Games; Spring Awakening starring Josh Duhamel and Sony Pictures' S.W.A.T: Under Siege alongside Sam Jaeger and Adrianne Palicki. What truly distinguishes Lisa is her extensive stunt background, boasting over 200 credits. Her remarkable contributions extend to HBO's "The Last of Us" and popular CW series like "Riverdale" and "Supernatural." Notably, she served as the stunt double for Chyler Leigh in 58 episodes of The CW's "Supergirl," showcasing her versatility and expertise. For me it started with Blade Runner. I remember being blown away by the majestic sweeping images while Vangelis played in the background. It was that mixture of noir and sci-fi, dark tech and it just oozed attitude.Snow Crash was next, the 1992 novel that really opened my eyes to the full cyberpunk experience. Ghost in the Shell, Altered Carbon, Akira, Battle Angel Alita, the Matrix and more recently Kacey Ezell's Second Chance Angel rounded out my hard drive. As for roleplaying I played in a short lived GURPS Cyberpunk campaign, and while I enjoyed it, I felt like it was missing something. Something that didn't quite connect what was in my head to the game we were playing. So, a couple of years ago when Mike asked if I was interested in playing Cyberpunk Red I jumped at the chance. It was fun and I had a good time, but to be honest, it was missing something. That same something that was missing the first time I gave it a go. The cyberpunk in my head just wasn't jiving with the cyberpunk in the game. Then, at the urging of Mike and Christina I downloaded Cyberpunk 2077. And that was it. What I had been missing in those games is what I found in 2077. The world of cyberpunk. The world your characters lived in. In the table top attempts, the story took front row to the world, but for cyberpunk to really flourish the world has to take priority over the story. What is it to be human? What is it to truly live? After a few hours of 2077 I hit Mike back up.“So, I would love to play more cyberpunk, especially in the 2077 world.”His response was “Well, I'm working on it”And here we are. We thought this would be a perfect opportunity to talk more Cyberpunk while getting a behind the scenes look at how Mike goes about building a campaign.Mike, I described what I was always chasing in cyberpunk. What about you? What draws you to cyberpunk?

Karima K. Jeffrey-Legette's book Speculative Film and Moving Images by or about Black Women and Girls (Lexington Books, 2022) examines depictions of African-descended women and girls in twentieth and twenty-first century filmmaking. Topics include a discursive analysis of stereotypes; roles garnered by Halle Berry, the only Black woman to receive an Oscar for Best Actress in a Leading Role; the promise of characters, relationships, and scripts found in works ranging from Altered Carbon, Lovecraft Country, and HBO's Watchmen series; and a closing chapter that considers the legacy of Black women in horror. Jeffrey-Legette illustrates the ways in which recent texts explore the trauma endured by people of African descent in the United States of America in evocative ways. In doing so, she provides a compelling interpretation of prevalent, well-received, and recurring images of Black women and girls in American popular culture. Jeff Russo has composed music for sci-fi fantasy shows like Star Trek Discovery and Picard, The Umbrella Academy, Altered Carbon, For All Mankind, and Lucifer. But he didn't set out to be known as a composer of SF projects, or even a composer at all. He began as a rock musician, and found he had a knack for writing music for the screen because he understood that music plays a crucial role in grounding unreal stories in the emotions of the characters. We talk about his approaching to scoring and why it's so challenging to write a theme song. Our ad partner is Multitude.
