Chained (2012), Honeymoon (2014), and Relic (2020) With over 60 episodes so far in our podcast history, we realized that in all that we covered, we had never covered anything by a woman director. We knew we needed to change that. Going through the history of women directors, we realized that not only wasn't something new, but have been working in the industry since the beginning of film. And in the last two decades, have really started to show their stuff. So to help celebrate Women's History Month, we figured it was well past due that we tackle three films that were directed by women, once again, picking three random titles, but amazed to find just how similar they were to each other, not to mention being very effective in their craft, and storytelling. Movies mentioned in this episode: American Mary (2012), Army of Darkness (1992), The Babadook (2014), Chained (2012), Cockney vs Zombies (2012), Coffy (1973), Dead Hooker in a Trunk (2009), Fear Street: Part One 1994 (2021), Fear Street: Part Two 1978 (2021), Fear Street: Part Three 1666 (2021), Ganja and Hess (1973), Ginger Snaps (2000), Hollywood Chainsaw Hookers (1988), Honeymoon (2014), Humanoids from the Deep (1980), In My Skin (2002), Inside (2007), Invasion of the Body Snatcher (1956), Kids (1995), Look What Happened to Rosemary's Baby (1976), Maniac (1980), The Monster and the Girl (1914), Near Dark (1987), The Nightingale (2018), Pet Sematary (1989), The Pit and the Pendulum (1913), The Relic (1997), Relic (2020), A Serbian Film (2010), The Silence of the Lambs (1991), Starry Eyes (2014), Slumber Party Massacre (1982), Street Trash (1987), The Taking of Deborah Logan (2014), Vampire (1915)

You should know by now that there's little we love more than a surprise lesbian reveal here at Spooky Tuesday — and when a movie pulls that off while throwing in a handful of Scream references, Maya Hawke, and one of the best deaths we've ever seen, you know it's going to be a winner in our book. Fear Street Part One: 1994 (2021) is only the first third of a trilogy, but the way it starts the story off with a bang earned it a place in our Pride Month Lineup. With (debatably) iconic dialogue and intense Riverdale vibes, this sapphic story is at the very least a good time.
FEAR STREET - 1994 : A circle of teenage friends accidentally encounter the ancient evil responsible for a series of brutal murders that have plagued their town for over 300 years. Welcome to Shadyside.
This is one I have been excited to talk about for a while. Fear Street was a series of books created by R.L Stine that was geared more to teenagers. In today's episode, I talk about the 2021 Netflix adaptation Fear Street Part One: 1994, Fear Street Part Two: 1978 and Fear Street Part Three: 1666. I discuss the three parts and my favorite moments from the series. SLASH, STAB, SLICE, DICE, RUN FOR YOUR LIFE!! Fear Street is a "Hot Off the Press" contemporary Horror/Thriller/Slasher film brought to you by Netflix. As titled Part One, this is the first installment of a three part trifecta series that travels through current events and then explores the history of prior events that lead our main cast in this film to the situation they are all placed within. It's been a long time since a traction-grabbing, new slasher-esk film has been so kindly placed in our laps especially at a time that we've started a movie review podcast. Stuff like this is right up our ally so hopefully you'll enjoy how we critique this film. Wanna know what we think... then what the hell are you waiting for!? Growing up reading R.L. Stine was a lot of fun and gave us the creeps when we were younger. Now that we are older, he STILL gives us the creeps! Fear Street 1994 is the first step towards a great horror trilogy. Listener beware there are MAJOR PLOT SPOILERS AHEAD!
As Chris Pratt gets recruited into the future war, I do a bit of recruiting myself, drafting two guest-hosts for this week's show... AJ Quevy and Darin Young from the hilarious Genre Geeks podcast! They're here to help me discuss the time-bending blockbuster The Tomorrow War, but we also fine time to geek out about Jaws, game shows, and time travel movies (better time travel movies!). We also briefly give our thoughts on Netflix's Fear Street Part One: 1994 and Soderbergh's new movie No Sudden Move, as well as pay our respects to legendary director Richard Donner, who sadly passed away this week at age 91. My thanks to AJ & Darin for joining me for this episode. Listener beware, you're in for a scare! Originally planned for a theatrical release, the classic R.L. Stine book series gets its very own 3 part event exclusively on Netflix. With elements pulled from series installments 'The Betrayal', 'The Secret' & 'The Burning', the first in this terrifying trilogy has finally dropped and the Dumpster trio is here to tackle it!
