F-35 'Jailbreak' Talk, AMC Rejects AI Film, Gmail Training Confusion, and the AI Productivity Paradox Host Jim Love covers four stories: Hashtag Trending would like to thank Meter for their support in bringing you this podcast. Meter delivers a complete networking stack, wired, wireless and cellular in one integrated solution that's built for performance and scale. You can find them at Meter.com/htt Dutch Defense Secretary Gijs Tuinman suggests the F-35's software could be "jailbroken," highlighting allied concerns about U.S.-controlled update pipelines and mission systems (formerly ALIS, now ODIN) and arguing the main barriers are contractual and operational rather than purely technical. An AI-generated short film, "Thanksgiving Day" by Igor OV, wins Screen Vision Media's Frame Forward AI Animated Film Festival and a promised two-week theatrical run, but AMC declines to screen it, reflecting ongoing Hollywood sensitivities around generative AI, authorship, and labor. Google responds to reports that it uses Gmail content to train Gemini by stating it does not use Gmail content for training, while confusion stems from wording and placement of Gmail "smart features" settings; the episode critiques the lack of plain-language clarity. Finally, a survey of 6,000 executives (reported via Tom's Hardware) finds over 80% of companies see no measurable productivity gains from AI, drawing parallels to the historic "productivity paradox" and suggesting organizations aren't redesigning processes; the show previews a deeper discussion on Project Synapse. 00:00 Trending Headlines + Sponsor: Meter 00:45 Can You 'Jailbreak' the F-35? What happens when AI safety filters fail to catch harmful content hidden inside images? Alessandro Pignati, AI Security Researcher at NeuralTrust, joins Sean Martin to reveal a newly discovered vulnerability that affects some of the most widely used image-generation models on the market today. The technique, called semantic chaining, is an image-based jailbreak attack discovered by the NeuralTrust research team, and it raises important questions about how enterprises secure their multimodal AI deployments. How does semantic chaining work? Pignati explains that the attack uses a single prompt composed of several parts. It begins with a benign scenario, such as a historical or educational context. A second instruction asks the model to make an innocent modification, like changing the color of a background. The final, critical step introduces a malicious directive, instructing the model to embed harmful content directly into the generated image. Because image-generation models apply fewer safety filters than their text-based counterparts, the harmful instructions are rendered inside the image without triggering the usual safeguards. The NeuralTrust research team tested semantic chaining against prominent models including Gemini Nano Pro, Grok 4, and Seedream 4.5 by ByteDance, finding the attack effective across all of them. For enterprises, the implications extend well beyond consumer use cases. Pignati notes that if an AI agent or chatbot has access to a knowledge base containing sensitive information or personal data, a carefully structured semantic chaining prompt can force the model to generate that data directly into an image, bypassing text-based safety mechanisms entirely.Organizations looking to learn more about semantic chaining and the broader landscape of AI agent security can visit the NeuralTrust blog, where the research team publishes detailed breakdowns of their findings. At this morning’s federal hearing in Manhattan, Judge Margaret Garnett reaffirmed that Luigi Mangione will not face the death penalty and continued weighing key pretrial issues, including whether evidence seized from his backpack will be allowed at trial. The appearance comes just one day after a Minnesota man allegedly attempted to break Mangione out of federal lockup by impersonating an FBI agent and presenting fake release paperwork at the Brooklyn jail. Authorities intercepted the suspect, who carried a barbecue fork and pizza‑cutter‑like blade. Step into the portal with Lionel for a "mental jailbreak" designed to shatter the conditioned beliefs of the "normies". This episode pushes past the daily news cycle to expose our fragile dependence on Wi-Fi, the "Uni-party" illusion, and the myth that American exceptionalism is anything more than good marketing. From tributes to Erich von Däniken's Chariots of the Gods to theories about aliens appearing at the 2026 World Cup, Lionel explores the unexplained while warning against the existential threats of AI and deepfakes. The conversation concludes with a deep dive into the dark psychology of predation, "baseball bat justice," and the necessity of "vaccinating" children with the truth. The Queen of Westminster exposes a seething Labour leadership coup, with whispers circulating that Health Secretary Wes Streeting and Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood are plotting to oust Keir Starmer post-Budget amid cratering polls and No. 10 infighting. Streeting fires back, slamming "toxic culture" in Downing Street and denying any "Celebrity Traitors"-style betrayal, while allies warn Starmer's ready to fight to the finish. Then, Justice Secretary David Lammy drops a bombshell: 91 prisoners accidentally freed since April 1st in a jailbreak farce, with three still on the run—including a foreign national drug baron who's evaded capture since August. The boys drink and review Jailbreak's Citra Lady Friend then discuss the implications of a million year old skull from China. P&C start with a review of the prevailing views on human evolution, including the "out of Africa" hypothesis. A little while ago, scientists in China found that a find from a few decades ago was older than expected, and more modern than expected. It's become common for headlines to claim that "this changes everything" -- but maybe this one does. How does this million year old skull fit into the picture? The boys discuss.

In the United States, the back-to-school season signals more than just a return to “traditional” classrooms—in a moment of open white nationalist warfare on our common humanity, it is also a moment for renewed reflection on origins, connections, and relationships. This fall, a new iteration of that search in the discipline of Africana Studies takes shape with the launch of “The Black University,” an open public course running in parallel with a Howard University class that initiates students into a deeper investigation of the meaning and purpose of Black educational institutions. Rooted in our ongoing project to “Jailbreak the Black University,” the course will center on uncovering the origins of Africana Ways of Knowing, Governance formations, and the search for connected traces of Movement and Memory. As our annual Kemetic (Ancient Egyptian) Study Tour draws to a close, we are guided by a central conviction: A search for “foundational Blackness” is essential to understanding and advancing the intellectual and cultural traditions of the African world.
