While the party is still reeling from their foray to the Grey Heron, the Koro army is spotted moving out from Typhon Head. Malaia jumps into gear, and helps the party decide where they'll go next. They bid farewell to many fine folks, and find themselves with nobility in tow. Jo throws privacy to the wayside, Jasoo discovers the structure of the region's religion, and Titan brings as many clothes as the Little Sip will hold. But as they sail across the bay, a new development is spotted on the far shore. Then, in Dirty Crit, the Couples of Crit almost get political. With beautiful weather hitting the east coast this week, Beer Sessions Radio is gearing up for spring and summer with Lawson’s Finest. This week, Jimmy catches up with Sean Lawson from Lawson’s Finest Liquids in Waitsfield, VT, and Katherine Kyle, formerly the longtime general manager of Blind Tiger Ale House in New York City. The conversation kicks off around Sip of Sunshine, which has grown tremendously popular since it launched a few years ago. Sean explains the process of scaling up, and where the magic comes into play during small, artisanal production. Sean and Katherine then get into a lively conversation about hops, and Sean gives us a great preview of the Super Sessions series. With the warm weather getting everyone excited for spring, Katherine and Sean both give us an update on how their breweries fared in the cold, and what exciting plans they have for customers looking to enjoy beer all summer long. Sean also introduces us to the “little cousin” of Sip of Sunshine, the Little Sip IPA! Finally, the gang wanders down a sweet sap rabbit hole before shouting out a few great summer classics they look forward to trying this year.Photo Courtesy of Sean Lawson.Heritage Radio Network is a listener supported nonprofit podcast network. Omnipollo is a brewery from Europe I think. It’s my first beer from this brewery called Fatamorgana. It is a big bad QIPA at 12% abv! The next one is from Lawson’s Finest Liquids. It is called Sip of Sunshine, a DIPA at 8% abv. The brewery is from Vermont. It is also my first … Continue reading "Omnipollo Fatamorgana QIPA and Lawson’s Sip of Sunshine IPA"
This week on Beer Sessions Radio, Jimmy is joined by Sean Lawson of Lawson’s Finest Liquids in Vermont. Katherine Kyle from Blind Tiger Ale House and beer writer, Ben Keene also join the conversation to talk about the IPA that made Lawson’s famous and the newest beer being added to the Sunshine series. Together they talk about what hops Sean is working with, the relationship between Lawon’s Finest Liquids and Two Roads Brewing, and what came first, New England IPAs or Vermont IPAs. Sean also shares his journey from somewhat reluctantly expanding his one-man operation to developing the strong set of HR policies and the impactful philanthropic program that guide the brewery’s work today.Beer ListAslan Brewing, Tateyama Japanese LagerLawson’s Finest Liquids Little Sip IPALawson’s Finest Liquids, Sip of Sunshine IPALawson’s Finest Liquids, The Space in BetweenHRN will be donating 10% of our membership drive proceeds from now until June 15 to the Philando Castile Relief Foundation. Join Jonny and Max for this week's episode for a thorough discussion of the latest installment of films from the magical universe of JK Rowling in "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them." "The year is 1926, and Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) has just completed a global excursion to find and document an extraordinary array of magical creatures. Arriving in New York for a brief stopover, he might have come and gone without incident, were it not for a No-Mag (American for Muggle) named Jacob, a misplaced magical case, and the escape of some of Newt's fantastic beasts, which could spell trouble for both the wizarding and No-Mag worlds." They also drink two tasty brews in "Sip of Sunshine," a hoppy and refreshing IPA by Lawson's Fine Liquids (Vermont) and a High West bourbon barrel-aged imperial coffee stout by "Lagunitas Brewing Co" (California).
