Going back to the first film of George Lucas, Holly Frey and Bryan Young do a deep dive of THX-1138. Released in 1971, this film was the springboard that almost killed Lucas's career. On the other hand, it's a masterpiece of cinema that still doesn't get the recognition it deserves. Join Holly and Bryan in this in-depth look at the making of and themes of THX-1138.
With the release of the teaser trailer for Maul: Shadow Lord, Bryan Young and Holly Frey talked about details from the new show, including the differences between what they see here and what they saw at Star Wars Celebration Japan. They also talked about art history and the work of Joel Aron on the show. After, they talk about the startling and heartbreaking continued relevance of Andor and the Ghorman Massacre.
In this deeply moving episode of Radio Medium, psychic medium Laura Lee connects with Elizabeth from Oregon for a powerful spirit reading that explores guardian angels, near-death experiences, grief, and soul purpose. Elizabeth shares how a near-death experience, combined with the sudden loss of her father and the end of a significant relationship, altered the course of her life. As Laura tunes into spirit, a maternal female presence appears—revealed to be a guardian angel. A profound angelic presence emerges, surrounding Elizabeth with a soft pink aura symbolizing heart healing, love, and soul transformation. Spirit confirms that although Elizabeth feels stagnant, she is still firmly on her life path. The message is clear: before helping others heal, she must continue healing her own heart. This episode offers reassurance, validation, and hope for anyone navigating loss, awakening, or a spiritual calling.
January is often perceived as a slow month in Hollywood, but in reality it's one of the most strategic windows of the year for filmmakers. On this episode, GG Hawkins and guests Ana Liza Muravina and John Lamm unpack how the industry “wakes up” in early 2026, what that means for creative careers, and how artists can structure their time, their projects, and their expectations to thrive amid shifting economic and ecosystem forces. From understanding industry seasonality, permission structures, and macro trends in distribution to practical strategies for developing and releasing work, this conversation offers both mindset shifts and concrete guidance for filmmakers navigating careers in the current landscape. In this episode, No Film School's GG Hawkins and guests Ana Liza Muravina and John Lamm discuss: Breaking down the idea of a “Hollywood shutdown” and why January becomes a key moment of restart, planning, and opportunity. How to contextually plan your writing year and align creative output with industry cycles (inspired by ideas from Final Draft's annual planning guide). Why building structure as an independent artist (even without external deadlines) empowers your career and creative focus. “Permission structures” in the industry — what they are, how they shape opportunity, and how filmmakers can navigate or build them. The importance of community, cohorts, and trusted feedback systems for career sustainability and perspective. How macroeconomic forces, consolidation in the streaming market, and attention economy shifts are reshaping how films get financed, distributed, and found. Practical project strategies — from refining scripts based on audience/readers to building a tailored outreach atlas for producers and executives. The value of aligning ambition with realistic pathways — creating work you can make now while aiming for larger goals down the line. Inspiring perspectives on why now may be an era of opportunity for scrappy independent filmmaking. Memorable Quotes: “Most filmmakers think January is slow, but quietly it's one of the most strategic months of the year.” “It's one of those weird things … every now and then when I zoom like 10,000 feet back … it's not necessarily indictment on your art.” “You see it … LA is the concentration of us. It's artists who are so good at what they do just waiting for someone to give them permission to do what they do well… And the answer generally is unless you decide to stride and do it yourself, no one gives you permission.” “Don't get too bogged down in the how, the strategy … let's make movies, y'all. Let's just do it.” Guests: Ana Liza Muravina John Lamm Resources Mentioned: The Current: Less Chaos, More Momentum (On the Circuit) How to Plan Your Entire Screenwriting Year: A Month-by-Month Guide (Final Draft) Video: Preparing for the Creator Economy Apocalypse (with Chris Gethard) Find No Film School everywhere: On the Web: No Film School Facebook: No Film School on Facebook Twitter: No Film School on Twitter YouTube: No Film School on YouTube Instagram: No Film School on Instagram Learn more about your ad choices. Lorraine “Tracy” McAdam began having extraterrestrial contact experiences since the age of three. She remembers seeing images of two human looking “Nordic” extraterrestrials projected onto her ceiling and communicating with them. One was blonde while the other had dark hair. She would repeatedly see the blonde-haired Nordic throughout her life in different situations. Lorraine also recalls being abducted by Gray ETs and taken onto their ships, where her psychic abilities were enhanced. She has had many missing time experiences but has yet to explore what happened during all her abductions. While working as a nurse, she also recalls seeing a 7-foot-tall Reptilian-looking entity, which terrified her as she hid from it. In 2024, Lorraine was interviewed by Dr. Andrea Martin and realized that the blonde Nordic she kept physically seeing and interacting with her was in fact her husband from the planet Erra. She recalled that she was part of the Galactic Envoy program where her ET avatar self would be safely stored and protected while she lived a normal Earth life. Today she regularly communicates with her husband whose name is Dteah about his activities, disclosure and the Galactic Envoy program. After talking about some rumors and news, Bryan Young and Holly Frey talk about the coming end of Star Wars Insider, its legacy and some of their favorite work in the magazine that has been giving us some of the best coverage of Lucasfilm across five decades.
In late 1916, while treating a group of patients at his psychiatric clinic at the University of Vienna, Dr. Constantin von Economo began noticing the appearance of strange symptoms that he could not account for. At the same time, in France, Rene Cruchet began noticing similarly strange and unexpected symptoms in his patients. Though the two men had never met and knew nothing of one another's patients, they would come to learn they were both witnessing the emergence of a new mysterious disease that would soon affect millions of people around the world. The illnesses documented by von Economo and Cruchet would eventually come to be know as encephalitis lethargica, or sleeping sickness, a strange condition that caused profound lethargy, hypersomnia, and a wide range of other frightening symptoms. Between 1919 and the early 1930s, millions of people all around the world contracted the illness, with nearly half of all cases resulting in death, and many more suffering long-term effects; yet a cause of the illness has never been established and the terrifying epidemic appears to have faded from memory not long after the disease itself ostensibly disappeared. Bryan has had the privilege of talking with Rian Johnson twice for Script Magazine, once for Knives Out and once for Wake Up Dead Man. Both times they talked about his philosophy on writing and both times it touched on techniques and ideas that intersected with things that were relevant to his work on The Last Jedi. Though these interviews focus on the craft of writing and deal as much with Rian's other movies as they do Star Wars, we hope fans of Star Wars and Full of Sith will enjoy them.

Today's message points to the birth of Jesus and how it should awaken a passionate faith in believers. For Matthew, the strange events began in childhood: glimpses of something impossibly tall leaning out from behind furniture, tapping on doors in the dark, and a shove that sent him running for help. Years passed with nothing… until he and his wife bought a new home that should've been nothing more than a fresh start. Instead, the shadows returned. Footsteps in the night. Doors that open without opening. A figure that looks exactly like his wife, appearing in places she isn't. And moments of physical contact that leave no trace — but no doubt something is there. But the most disturbing encounter wasn't his. It was his wife's: a pale, dust-colored man crouched in the hallway, replaying the violent moment of his death in a loop she could see but Matthew could not. Whatever is in their home shifts shape, intention, and emotion — playful one moment, heavy and suffocating the next. And the question they're left with is the one no one wants to ask: Did something follow them into this house…or was something already waiting? #HauntedHouse #ShadowFigure #MimicSpirit #ParanormalStory #RealGhostStories #GhostEncounter #ReplayHaunting #ChildhoodEntity #HomeHaunting #TrueParanormal Love real ghost stories? Send us a text Anthony Freda is an accomplished educator, artist, and activist whose creative journey shaped by moral reckoning and bold shifts in perspective ultimately led him to Jesus and a renewed focus on Christian art. A tenured professor at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York, Freda has built a distinguished career as an award-winning illustrator, with work featured in major publications such as The New Yorker, Time, Rolling Stone, and The New York Times. His art is showcased in a permanent exhibit at the 9/11 Memorial, and he has been honored by The Society of Illustrators, Communication Arts, and American Illustration. Known for his provocative, politically charged imagery, Freda blends vintage American ephemera with modern commentary, using his work as a platform for cultural critique and creative activism. His StoryHe began his career in advertising, notably working on the infamous Joe Camel campaign. When the FTC ruled the campaign illegal for marketing cigarettes to children, Freda experienced a profound moral awakening that led him to leave advertising behind. He went on to work with prestigious publications such as The New York Times and The New Yorker, but it was his work on an OpEd piece for The New York Times promoting the Iraq War that sparked another ethical reckoning. Realizing he had gone from selling cigarettes to selling war, Freda transitioned once more, joining the early alternative media movement in the 2000s.Freda's work has often pushed boundaries, both politically and artistically. His art is part of the permanent collection of the 9/11 Museum and Memorial in New York, where his piece is one of the only works that questions the official narrative of the events of 9/11. His ten-year tenure with Infowars as an illustrator and writer further cemented his place in the world of controversial alternative news, and he has been vocal about his role in the space.Freda's work, especially his art, continues to stir debate. In 2024, an author in Germany faced legal consequences for simply posting one of his book covers on social media, and Freda himself has been extensively censored for his dissent against the official COVID-19 narrative. He has even been flagged as a potential domestic terrorist for his critical stance and controversial imagery. One of his most notable works is a covert illustration for The Wall Street Journal in 2025, where he secretly adorned Xi Jinping's tie with skull motifs as a subtle critique of global politics. In 2024, Freda worked as an illustrator and media consultant for RFK Jr.'s Super-Pac, AV24, further cementing his role in the political and media landscape. However, in recent years, Freda has pivoted his artistic focus towards Christian art. After decades of political commentary, he now sees the battle as spiritual and has committed to dedicating much of his creative work to Christ, producing original pieces as a devotion to his faith.Freda is also working on an ambitious project called Jesus Park, a sculptural earthen garden designed as a peaceful space for prayer and meditation. The project aims to provide a tranquil setting for spiritual reflection and devotion. To explore his ongoing projects, including his Christian art, visit his website: AnthonyFreda.com, https://www.instagram.com/anthonyfredaart/,The Thought Crimes of Anthony Freda - Book PreviewConnect with Angie Taylor on:IG: https://www.instagram.com/mrsangietaylor/?hl=enFB: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100090424997350

This week on the Normal Nerds Podcast, Maxwell and Davis deliver a loaded Weekly Anime Recap. They kick things off with My Hero Academia Season 8, Episode 9, talking Deku's questionable haircut, Bakugo refusing to rest, and the Todoroki family's heavy, emotional wrap-up—plus why Endeavor's redemption hits harder than the fandom gives him credit for.Next, the boys rave about Spy x Family Season 3, Episode 9 with Double Starlight Anya, Damien sprinting to her rescue, Becky's chaos, Melinda's unhinged emotional whiplash, and Anya's ego skyrocketing into villain-cape territory. Then they tear into One Punch Man Season 3, Episode 8—a rare episode with decent animation that STILL can't save the season. Flashy Flash's fight pops off, Kid Emperor is actually interesting, but the stiff faces and still frames keep dragging the whole show down. From there, it's pure hype with Tojima Wants to Be a Kamen Rider Episode 9. Tojima lands the punch heard 'round the world, Rider Man goes feral, V3 gives respect where it's due, and the show continues to be one of the season's biggest surprises. They follow it up with the comfy, consistently fun May I Ask You One Last Thing? Episode 10, featuring Scarlet punching monsters into paste, Julius shutting down betrayals instantly, dragon-guy simps going wild, and a war brewing in the background. Then they officially consider dropping SANDA Episode 9, after another episode that leans way too hard into the bizarre. With the series' tone spiraling and its creative lineage showing, they debate if it's even worth continuing. After the main block, they jump into two big highlights of the week:Gachiakuta Episode 21 delivers insane action as Bundus takes on multiple Cleaners at once, Rudo evolves his 3R into a railgun-level weapon, Zodyl reveals his real plan, and Noerde's terrifying return sets up massive consequences. One Piece Episode 1151 goes OFF: Gear 5 Luffy returns, Bonney awakens a Nika-style form of her own, and the Iron Giant finally steps in—setting the stage for one of Egghead's most explosive episodes yet.If you're into big analysis, big fights, and big laughs, this is one of the most packed recaps the guys have ever done.Support the show

In Episode 19, Alpha Warrior and Josh Reid dive headfirst into a seismic day of information warfare as General Michael Flynn issues a cryptic but unmistakable call to digital soldiers—“Get ready.” The hosts break down Flynn's timing and his reference to post 532, connecting it to a rapid series of White House reposts featuring 11 veterans, one of them Alpha himself. Josh unpacks the deeper meaning behind these mirrored posts, linking them to long-running military intelligence drops, the Ghost Army, and a newly released PsyOps video echoing the Anon movement's origins. From there, Alpha and Josh explore the explosive revelations surrounding Smartmatic, Venezuela, election interference, and Patrick Byrne's firsthand account of the systems used to manipulate global elections. They connect Byrne's inside intel to the escalating actions taken by Trump, including terrorism designations aimed at networks tied to Soros, Maduro, the Muslim Brotherhood, and cartel-driven insurgencies. This episode ties together covert operations, military presence in Venezuela, corruption inside U.S. institutions, and the cleanup now underway, all while hinting at major dominos preparing to fall. A high-energy, deeply sourced breakdown of a rapidly accelerating timeline.
Today's guest, Paula Scatoloni, is a rare bridge between science, spirituality, sound, and the deep intelligence of the body. Her work began in the clinical world—training therapists, treating eating disorders, and helping people come back into their bodies—but seven years ago she felt a profound inner call: the work she was doing was too small for the collective healing that was needed. That call led her into a new mission: to help usher in the rebirth of humanity by restoring safety, coherence, and heart centered living through sound, nervous system healing, and ancient wisdom. In this conversation, you're going to hear: how grief cracked Paula open into an altered state that awakened her intuitive capacities how sound technology can revealwhere our nervous system holds unresolved traumawhy we are all tuning forks, constantly influencing each otherthrough tone, pacing, presence, and resonancethe missing link in most relationships: how our inner child, nervous system, and ancestral patterns shape the way we hear, react, and love what harmony actually means, scientifically, spiritually, and somatically why music, ritual, and collective sound have always been part of humanity's healingand how each of us can retune our nervous system toward kindness, compassion, and grace. This episode spans everything from trauma to archetypes, from the frequency of a mother's coo to Lemuria, from the inner masculine and feminine to the power of collective singing.More than anything, Paula reminds us: Your nervous system is not your destiny. It can be reshaped, softened, retuned and when it changes, everyone in your field changes too.If you are curious about embodiment, sound healing, ancestral memory, relational repair, or the emergence of a heart-centered world… this is one of those conversations that will stay with you long after you've heard it.Those with ears, let them hear. Ten years ago, Bryan Young did an exhaustive multi-part story about the NPR Star Wars Radio Dramas for Star Wars Insider Magazine, but so much of the interviews that were conducted had to be left on the cutting room floor. One of the best was with Tom Voegeli. From the Full of Sith Archives, Bryan presents this interview with the post-production supervisor for all three Star Wars radio dramas producer by National Public Radio.
Holly Frey and Bryan Young return to the studio to record an episode about all the recent goings-on in Star Wars. From the trailer for Mandalorian and Grogu to the Starfighter pictures to Holly's recent visit to Lucasfilm for the release of LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy, they cover it all.
In this episode, we talk about how God is at work in our lives even when sorrow feels overwhelming. This Jubilee year of hope is still a light for us, especially when we feel stuck, overwhelmed, or tempted to despair. We talk about the “fatigue of living”, what happens when we isolate ourselves, and why the micromovements of our hearts are so important. God has not guaranteed us an easy life, but He abundantly offers us Himself. With Him, we can encounter Jesus deeply, allow the Spirit to help us overcome our fears, and journey through this life with more hope than we thought possible. How have I been tempted to isolate myself? What distractions do I turn to in suffering? What heartbreaks have I been holding back from the Lord in prayer? Where am I feeling afraid? Discussion Questions: Where in your life are you struggling to see the Lord? How has the Lord given you daily bread today? What lessons have you learned throughout the Jubilee Year of Hope? Where in your life are you waiting for a personal Pentecost? What resonated with you in Sister Miriam's prayer? Quote to Ponder: “The Holy Spirit bestows understanding. The Spirit overcomes the ‘breach' that began in Babel, the confusion of mind and heart that sets us one against the other. The Spirit opens borders... The Church must always become anew what she already is. She must open the borders between peoples and break down the barriers between class and race. In her, there cannot be those who are neglected or disdained. In the Church there are only free men and women, brothers and sisters of Jesus Christ.” (Homily for Pentecost, 15 May 2005, Pope Benedict XVI) Scripture for Lectio: “Daughter, your faith has saved you.
