I spoke with Colin Bedell of QueerCosmos about A Course in Miracles and navigating divine assignments and soul connections. Colin is a horoscope writer at Cosmopolitan magazine and has a recently published book called A Little Bit of Astrology: An Introduction to the Zodiac as well as a forthcoming book called Queer Cosmos: The Astrology of Queer Identities and Relationships. Colin was a speaker at the 2017 Sister Giant in Washington D.C and at a recent online summit called Fresh Voices in Astrology. Besides being an astrologer, Colin works intimately with A Course in Miracles, and I invited him on the show to learn more about miracles and how we can develop a deeper connection to them. We talked about A Course in Miracles, and of course, astrology!Connect with Colin on Instagram45 Hour Online Evolutionary Astrology Intensive I mentioned in the outroAs promised, the review I wrote about A Little Bit of Astrology!"I am stunned and proud of Colin Bedell's lyric reverie in his new book, A Little Bit of Astrology: An Introduction to the Zodiac. As I read through the pages of his book, I felt taken on an aesthetic journey where facets of reality were named and brightened - the personality and essences all around me. It felt like learning astrology again to read his writing and I got this feeling that I was going to be distinctly reanimated with astrology from these moments forward - the way I felt when I first began learning and started to see archetypes living in people and the world. It is the remarkably vibrant way that reality itself begins to take on more complex textures; brightens — and as though the soul of the cosmos becomes aware its finer details are being observed and it begins to reveal more of its beauty to the one whose vision courts it. I think that is one of astrology’s secrets that keeps me coming back to it every day - when approached as though a lover endlessly full of mysteries the study of astrology doesn’t reduce or put things into categories but rather opens up complex and novel forms of poetic understanding. Colin did this. His language is light and fluid and sparkling but the realities he points to are solid and robust. Reading him, my world became brighter. Not only did I get to become absorbed in the lyric beauty of Colin’s writing but I got to fall in love with the zodiac all over again through Colin’s vision. Each description contains clues into how to love people of those signs and I saw my own reality beginning to become more illuminated with appreciation because little beautiful details of the people in my life bloomed forward in my consciousness. I think Colin opens universes of love in his vision of astrology - he creates invitations to love more, after having carefully considered the unique realities of the archetypes and what they stand for. I have adored Colin’s use of language since the first time (literally) I heard him speak, and reading his book deepened my knowing that Colin’s words playfully transform and uplift the realities he engages with. I feel inspired and grateful that this compassionate magician is among us.

Most of the world's major religious traditions have been developed in and shaped by patriarchy. They emphasize masculine deities and male (often celibate) leadership. While efforts to reclaim the feminine aspects of divinity and spirituality have been underway for several decades now, in the past few years there has been an explosion of fierce feminine leadership in political, cultural, and spiritual arenas. Vera de Chalambert's essay "Kali Takes America" went viral in 2016 after the election of Donald Trump. Her exploration of the dark goddess Kali who destroys the world in order to save it anticipated the wave of feminine anger and activism that has arisen in the wake of the #metoo revelations. We sit down with Vera to talk more about the feminine divine, her darker side, and why all of us need this sacred feminine fire now more than ever. Vera starts off the interview with a powerful soliloquy that blew us away, and we're so excited to share her wisdom with you. Vera de Chalambert, MTS, is a spiritual storyteller and Harvard educated scholar of comparative religion working at the feet of the Great Mother. She offers healing process work and spiritual direction via Skype, writes and teaches classes on mindfulness in the modern world and the divine feminine. She gives talks and presentations around the world and was a speaker at SAND Science and Nonduality Conference in the US and Europe and Sister Giant in Washington DC. In the words of Mahatma Gandhi, “Politics should be sacred.” Sacred doesn't necessarily mean religious – it means stemming from the deepest part of ourselves. The search for authenticity, for our deep humanity, should not stop at the door to politics. If anything, it should extend deeply into realms that affect so powerfully the existence of earth's billions of inhabitants. From how we treat the environment to how we treat each other, our political choices are significant indicators of our moral values and spiritual convictions. At this year's SISTER GIANT, Bernie Sanders will give the keynote address. Marianne Williamson partners with Derrick Harkins, Senior Vice-President at Union Theological Seminary to SISTER GIAT in Washington DC, at the Marriott Hotel in Arlington, Va. From Feb. 2-4, 2017.
