Lara Love Hardin is a New York Times bestselling author, literary agent, and founder of True Literary, known for her memoir The Many Lives of Mama Love. Her story details her journey from suburban soccer mom to opioid addicted felon, eventually becoming a successful, award-winning ghostwriter with four New York Times Bestsellers, including The Sun Does Shine. In this episode we discuss the following: Lara spent years trying to outrun her past—building a résumé of goodness, hiding the worst parts of her story, convinced that if people really knew her, they'd walk away. And then she did the one thing she feared most: she told the truth. And everything flipped. Instead of rejection, she got connection. Instead of judgment, she got empathy. Instead of isolation, she found community. The very things we hide to protect ourselves are often the things that would most connect us to others. Lara's story teaches us about struggle. At the time, her lowest moments felt like the end. In retrospect, they became the new foundation—making her a better mother, writer, and human being. When you're managing shame or fear, your cognitive bandwidth is consumed—no room for imagination, long-term goals, or “delusional ambition.” Her inbox of “thousands of secrets” suggests a massive hidden distribution of private struggle across seemingly functional people. First-person, present-tense narrative collapses psychological distance—you simulate the decisions, not just observe outcomes. When we're in a hard season, sometimes all we can do is look forward to looking back.

Stijn Schmitz welcomes Dr. Stephen Leeb to the show. Dr. Stephen is Author and Founder of Leeb Capital Management. In this wide-ranging discussion, Leeb provides a comprehensive analysis of the global economic landscape, focusing on commodities, geopolitics, and the potential role of gold in reshaping the international monetary system. Leeb argues that the world is at a critical juncture, with natural gas and gold emerging as key strategic assets. He highlights the United States’ unexpected advantage in liquefied natural gas (LNG) and suggests that cooperation, rather than conflict, is the path forward for global economic stability. The conversation then delves into the declining status of the US dollar and the potential for a gold-backed monetary system, with China and Russia playing significant roles in this potential transition. Stephen emphasizes the critical shortage of fundamental commodities, particularly copper and silver, and the need for sustainable energy solutions. Leeb warns that a shortage of any major critical commodity could lead to severe economic consequences, underlining the importance of international cooperation in resource management. A central theme of the conversation is the potential for gold to serve as a unifying monetary force. Leeb views gold as more than just a commodity, describing it almost as a spiritual bridge between beauty and materiality. He suggests that countries adopting a gold standard have historically performed exceptionally well, and that gold could be instrumental in creating a more cooperative global economic system. Leeb is particularly critical of current geopolitical tensions, especially between the United States, China, and Russia. He advocates for a collaborative approach, arguing that cooperation is the key to addressing global challenges in resource scarcity, technological innovation, and economic development. Andrea Beaty is an award-winning children's author. Before she became known for her curious and clever characters in Rosie Revere, Engineer, and Ada Twist, Scientist, she was on track for a career in STEM. In college, Beaty studied biology and computer science, and then went on to work at a software company. Her start in writing came when she volunteered to write a tech support newsletter for a customer audience. The job helped Beaty hone her skills as a writer and copy editor years before she decided to try her hand at fiction. She started by writing stories inspired by the books she read to her kids before getting published in the 2000s. Since then, Beaty's work has landed her on the New York Times Best Sellers list multiple times and has even been adapted into an award-winning Netflix animated series. She often credits her time as a technical writer as what gave her the skills to break down big concepts and life lessons for kids. Now, more than 20 years after her first book was written, Beaty shows no signs of slowing down with more stories on the way this year.

In this deeply moving episode of Out of the Clouds, host Anne Mühlethaler welcomes Ashley Bernardi, an award-winning podcaster, author, media relations expert, and founder of Nardi Media. Ashley served as a network television news producer for nearly a decade, with credits including CBS News, energyNOW! on Bloomberg TV, and Washington Post Live. She has helped multiple authors launch their books and become New York Times Best Sellers, including Mel Robbins, Dr. Susan Peirce Thompson, and Dr. Gabrielle Lyon, with client placements in top-tier outlets like The Washington Post, The New York Times, TODAY, Good Morning America, CBS This Morning, NPR, Fortune, and hundreds more.Ashley's personal story begins with profound childhood trauma - losing her father to a sudden heart attack at age 11 - and traces her journey through decades of burying her emotions while excelling professionally as a journalist and PR expert.Ashley shares with Anne how she grew up in a creative military family, with her father serving as an Army colonel at the Pentagon and her mother running a successful dance studio in the DC area. The sudden loss of her beloved dad became a defining moment which brought her to suppress her grief and emotions for over two decades, channeling her energy into professional achievement while struggling with various coping mechanisms. The conversation takes a profound turn as Ashley describes how unprocessed trauma eventually manifested in her body through a severe case of Lyme disease following the birth of her third daughter. After being medically gaslit by numerous doctors, Ashley experienced what she refers to as her "dark night of the soul" –- a moment of complete surrender that finally opened the door to processing her long-buried grief for her father.Ashley details her healing journey, which involved developing daily practices of meditation, journaling, breathwork, therapy, coaching, and more. She explains how learning to "feel her feelings" in real-time became the foundation for both her physical healing and her relationship with her deceased father. The experience transformed her approach to life and work, impacting the work she does at Nardi Media, a PR agency specialising in health, wellness, spirituality, and mission-driven organisations.Throughout their conversation, Anne and Ashley explore the importance of storytelling as both a healing tool and a way to connect with others. Ashley shares practical advice for those wanting to share their own stories, emphasising the difference between written and spoken communication and the necessity of practicing your story out loud. She also discusses her work with renowned clients like Dr. Jill Bolte Taylor and Dr. Emma Seppälä, and how her personal healing journey informed her professional mission. The interview concludes with Ashley's insights on the transformative power of authentic connection, the importance of honoring both masculine and feminine energies, and her belief that everyone has healing wisdom within them. She emphasises that feelings are meant to be felt and processed, not buried, and that our authentic power comes from getting quiet and listening to our inner wisdom.A raw, honest, and ultimately hopeful conversation about trauma, healing, and the courage it takes to live authentically.Connect with Ashley:Ashley Bernardi's website: ashleybernardi.comNardi Media: nardimedia.comInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/nardi_media Visit our website Out of the Clouds : https://outoftheclouds.com/Find us on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/_outofthecloudsAnne on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/annvi/Anne on BlueSky: https://bsky.app/profile/annvi.bsky.socialAnne on LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/anne-v-muhlethaler/Please subscribe and leave us a review ✨ Hosted on Acast. Is There Really Pus in Milk? What does the “milk pus test” tell us about the U.S. milk supply? Dairy cows might normally live for about 20 years, but they are typically slaughtered for hamburger after they're just a few years old when they produce less milk and their profitability drops. But another leading cause of cow culling is mastitis––udder inflammation and infections––which affects 99.7 percent of all dairy operations in the United States. Bird Flu: Emergence, Dangers, and Preventive Measures In the United States in January 2025 alone, approximately 20 million commercially-raised birds, mostly egg-laying hens, were affected by the highly pathogenic avian influenza (H5N1). These numbers are staggering yet barely scratch the surface of a potentially larger threat looming over the country. If action is not taken now, the next pandemic could be far deadlier than the 1918 influenza and COVID-19. Listen to today's episode written by Dr. Michael Greger at @NutritionFacts.org. "It doesn't take money to make money, it takes relationships and ideas. It takes value and exchange. So if you think you have a money problem, it's not really a money problem. It's a mental capital problem, which means ideas, knowledge, wisdom, insights, strategies, and tools." - Garrett Gunderson Value Creation "Money is a byproduct of value creation. Value creation means that we've served someone, we've solved the problem, we've added value in their life. Vision is what determines value. And if we have a limited vision, we're going to limit our value." - Garrett Gunderson Take Responsibility for Your Actions "Responsibility is the key reason why people don't have wealth. You have to be responsible for your actions and reactions. You have to be responsible your next thing that you do, and even for your mindset. And if you don't take responsibility, you can't have prosperity because one doesn't exist without the other." - Garrett Gunderson Links From Today's Show Garrett Gunderson What Would the Rockefellers Do? by Garrett Gunderson + Michael Isom Killing Sacred Cows by Garret Gunderson + Stephen Palmer Click (2006) Multiplier Program JV Crum The Body Keeps The Score by Bessel van der Kolk The Town (2010) MissingMoney.com Dave Ramsey Josh's Trusted Products | Up To 40% Off Shop All Products Biohacking MANNA Vitality - Save 20% with code JOSH20 HigherDOSE - 15% off with the code JOSH15 PLUNGE - $150 off with discount code WELLNESSFORCE Pulsetto - Save 20% with code "JOSH" SaunaSpace - 10% off with discount code JOSH10 Ultrahuman Ring Air - 10% off with code JOSH Wellness Test Kits Choose Joi - Save 50% on all Lab Tests with JOSH Blokes - Save 50% on all Lab Tests with JOSH FertilityWize Test by Clockwize - Save 10% with code JOSH Tiny Health Gut Tests - $20 off with discount code JOSH20 VIVOO Health Tests - Save 30% off with code JOSH SiPhox Health Blood Test - Save 15% off with code JOSH Nutrition + Gut Health Organifi - 20% off with discount code WELLNESSFORCE SEED Synbiotic - 25% off with the code 25JOSHTRENT
