In this episode of Gun Talk Nation, host Ryan Gresham chats with Kirk Foreman from Aero Precision about trends in the firearms industry, particularly focusing on custom gun builds. They explore how gun builds, once the domain of experienced enthusiasts, have become more accessible thanks to better tools and information. Kirk highlights Aero Precision's role in popularizing DIY gun builds, especially AR-15s, and discusses how trends have evolved from 16-inch carbines to more specialized builds like pistol variants and custom rifles for specific use cases. They also touch on the rise of bolt-action rifle builds, with Aero's Solus action making it easier for regular gun owners to create custom, high-quality rifles. Kirk emphasizes that sometimes, builds are just for fun or aesthetics, and there's no shame in that. The conversation also covers Aero's upcoming products like the lightweight Solus actions and 22 suppressors, as well as Aero's monthly limited-run builder sets that offer unique customization options.Aero Precision: https://alnk.to/hhB9iakAero Precision ARs & AR Parts: https://alnk.to/5Q5Tx9MAero Precision Solus: https://alnk.to/87ZKhMfAero Precision Tephra-22 Suppressors: https://alnk.to/1N2sYq1This Gun Talk Nation is brought to you by: Franklin Armory, SDS Imports, Range Ready, Silencer Central, SecureIt, Ruger, Ballistic Advantage, Guns & Gear, Stag Arms and Hodgdon Powder. For more content, subscribe to Gun Talk at guntalktv.com, on Gun Talk's Roku, Apple TV, iOS app, Android app, or find Gun Talk on YouTube, Rumble, Facebook, Instagram, X and guntalk.com. With deep roots on the sell-side, serving in strategist roles at both Miller Tabak and BTIG, Dan Greenhaus is now Chief Strategist at Solus Asset Managment, a multi-billion dollar AuM firm with expertise in distressed and high yield investing. Our conversation considers economics in theory and practice, differentiating classic academic training from the role someone like Dan plays on a trading desk supporting clients, portfolio managers and an investment process. Here, Dan shares the importance of understanding what's in the price and details his efforts to evaluate consensus by talking to other strategists around the Street to understand baseline expectation. This is some part of what he describes as his role as blindside tackle at Solus, working to identify areas of macro uncertainty that may be under-appreciated.We talk about the current state of the economy and the stance of Fed policy. On the latter, Dan argues that while the impact of tighter policy on slowing has been much less rapid than anticipated, it has worked. And while he's successfully faded the repeated calls that the consumer was going to crack over the past two years, he now sees signs worth paying close attention to. He points to simple measures like weekly jobless claims and also puts stock in Visa's recent earnings call in which weakness was cited across multiple spending categories.Dan's study of prior Fed easing cycles suggests that rate cuts have typically come too late to offset broad-based economic weakness. Will this time be different? Perhaps, given the strength of both household balance sheets and fiscal spending. But, as with everything in the realm of markets and investing, Dan properly asserts that we must approach forecasts with humility.I hope you enjoy this episode of the Alpha Exchange, my conversation with Dan Greenhaus.
Will this earnings season serve as a support or a stumbling block to a fully valued market? Solus' Dan Greenhaus, Merrill and Bank of America Private Bank Marci McGregor and Crossmark's Victoria Fernandez break down what they're expecting. Shareholder Ayako Yoshioka and Big Technology's Alex Kantrowitz explain what is at stake for Alphabet's report and for the broader tech space. And, top analyst Dan Ives tells us what he is watching from Tesla's numbers.
What should investors be watching ahead of tomorrow's data and start of earnings season? Dan Greenhaus from Solus, Stephanie Link of Hightower and Jason Snipe from Odyssey Capital give their takes. Plus, Goldman Sachs Asset Management's Sung Cho reveals the under-the-radar tech plays he is betting on right now. And, Max Kettner from HSBC tells us how he is navigating stocks in the second half.
