Halo 1 i Vr någon!?!?

Jeri Ellsworth is the co-founder and CEO of Tilt Five, a company that has created AR glasses that bring tabletop games to life. The Tilt Five system enables you to see, hear, and interact with realistic 3D holograms that entertain and educate.By the time this episode airs, they will have recently completed a Kickstarter campaign where Tilt Five raised more than $1.75 million for their initial product.Prior to Tilt Five, Jeri was the founder of CastAR, which was also making an augmented reality hardware and software platform, and one that had raised $15 million in venture funding before shutting down in 2017.Previously Jeri was at Valve as the first member of the hardware R&D team with a mandate to research novel user interactions and bring the entire family together in the living room. Through this, she contributed to the early development for Valve VR (which became the HTC VIVE), the Steam Box, and the Steam Controller. In this conversation, Jeri shares stories from along her amazing path from being a high-school dropout to building race cars to engineering electronic game systems to being recruited at Valve. Jeri goes on to describe the painful end of her time at Valve and her tumultuous CastAR experience. From those ashes emerged Tilt Five. Jeri describes what's different this time as well as some of the underlying technology and its tradeoffs, and the deep seated ethos and focus of the company. She doesn't mince words as she describes her missteps, setbacks, and successes along the way.You can find all of the show notes at thearshow.com.

Valve has lost a lawsuit from Ironburg Inventions, parent company of SCUF Gaming. Valve will pay at least $4M in damages to the company after a jury unanimously voted that Valve's use of back paddle technology on its Steam Controller was willful patent infringement. SCUF Gaming has had a patent for the back paddle technology since 2011 when the controllers made the scene and provided additional functionality to enthusiast players willing to pay a premium for a controller with additional bells and whistles to enhance gameplay. Here are today's stories: - Valve loses controller patent lawsuit, to pay $4 million in damages - EA Has Made $3 Billion from Star Wars Games - and It Isn't Slowing Down Anytime Soon - Codemasters shareholders approve EA's $1.2bn acquisition Follow me on other platforms and stay up to date! On today's episode of the Never Ending Backlog, we are reviewing ACE Team's, mature adventure, side-scrolling platformer, Abyss Odyssey.Abyss Odyssey is one of those games we have seen many times when scrolling through our game collection; however, we had assumed it was an entirely different type of game. We assumed it was an indie title (which it is); however, we expected a small budget development, that might have been neglected over the years. Fortunately, we were absolutely wrong. Abyss Odyssey offers a Castlevania'like experience, that performs quite well (with a controller).Steam Description:From indie Chilean developer ACE Team comes a new side-scrolling action adventure game featuring a complex fighting engine in procedurally generated levels that destines its three warriors to battle a different abyss each time! There are quite a few mechanics involved with this game, and button combos that unfortunately struggle on a keyboard/mouse. One quick glance at the reviews, and you will notice that it wasn't the smoothest experience for players; however, as we have been using our Steam Controller, our experience has been significantly different. But alas, it's time to review Abyss Odyssey on Steam!Important Links:Developer Website: https://store.steampowered.com/app/255070/Abyss_Odyssey/Publisher Website: https://www.aceteam.cl/Steam Store: https://atlus.com/games/
