Lisa and I conclude our conversation on spiritual mothering. I consider how much leftist thinking permeates the dissident right. We admire the patience of Joseph as he undergoes trials. We remember the CB craze of the 70s and consider our calling to reflect the glory of God.
Lisa and I continue our conversation on spiritual mothering. I consider how helpless the church becomes when it follows the whims of the world, explore Joseph's response to Potiphar's wife, seek out ministry partners and consider the good and the bad of conviction and compromise.
Lisa and I continue to discuss the blessings of spiritual mothers. I warn of the dangers of tariffs and the folly of trade deficits, remember God's promises to Hagar for Ishmael and consider what it means to be a child at 59 years old.
Lisa and I start a new subseries discussing the beauty of spiritual mothering. I caution about President Trumps many Executive Orders, unpack Tamar's revenge against Judah, recount the sending of the demons into the swine and contemplate the mystery of mothering the Messiah.

Today, Jane Williams, Executive Director of Love Columbia brings a Mother's Day message for the church. She speaks on Spiritual Mothering, and what it means to have a mothering heart. Mother's Day can be a challenging day for many: for those who lost their mom, those who want to be, or those who have lost their kids. But their is encouragement to be had in others around you who can fill in the holes that loss brings. We hope this message encourages you and helps you know Jesus in a more real way. For women specifically Titus 2 gives us a framework for the things we are to focus on and grow up into. We spend some time discussing the why of spiritual mothering, the how to and the difficulties we face in a culture so greatly influenced by feminism. We pray you are blessed and will find a Spiritual Mother and be one!

What is spiritual mothering? The idea of spiritual mothering is grounded in a passage in Titus 2: 3-5: "the older women likewise, that they be reverent in behavior, not slanderers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things - that they admonish the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, to be discreet, chaste, homemakers, good, obedient to their own husbands, that they word of God may not be blasphemed." In this episode, I talk with Rachel Winchester and Laura Drew about what it is to spiritually mother, their own experiences of motherhood, and how they practice this in their own lives.
