I have some big news that I just announced on Instagram—I'm engaged! But before I share the story, I want to discuss something we all face: change. A year ago, I was navigating heartbreak, clinging to the verse in Ecclesiastes: “There is a season for everything.” Life is full of seasons—singleness, relationship struggles, and joyful moments—and each one has a purpose. In this episode, I talk about how I've learned the importance of staying present and letting God work in the here and now instead of longing for the past or rushing into the future. I consider the importance of repentance and forgiveness in marriage, encourage us to rest in Christ's reign in the coming days of unrest, ponder the sins of Jacob, Laban and Rachel as they separate, recount the ministry we've accomplished this year and remember our call to steward God's creation.

Lisa and I conclude our series on perseverence in the face of trials. I consider the scariest thing about the promises made by both presidential candidates, Laban getting outsmarted by Jacob, the free wheeling 70s and the dreaded dangers of JARTs, plus, what is necessary for true gospel unity.

Lisa and I discuss our call to persevere in marriage even in hardship. I consider all we don't need to consider in the face of a scandal, Jacob's meeting with God, kid's conveyances of the 70s and the foolishness of the devil.
