Means&3rd aka Ben Marsden joins us for episode 469 with an extensive session covering over 2 hours worth of techno territory. The Manchester based artist can be found behind the counter at the legendary Eastern Bloc Records where he fronts the house and techno curation for the shop. He has leveraged his exposure to the latest sounds there to promote his own Unveiled Nuance events and label as well as securing performances at events throughout the country. Some words from Ben - "I aimed to create something that reflects where I am sonically right now. The aesthetic of the deeper sound has expanded so much lately, touching on all sorts of BPM's and vibes, and I've really been loving every bit of it. This music requires some patience and a commitment to fully appreciate it, which is one of the reasons it continues to captivate me so much. I also wanted to give a huge shout-out to all the incredible artists featured in this mix; there's so much amazing music out there right now., and a massive thank you to the Monument team as well—I'm genuinely grateful for this opportunity " Follow : Soundcloud - https://soundcloud.com/means3rd Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/means_3rd/ Labels Bandcamp - https://means3rd.bandcamp.com/ Monument x Carbon Carbon is a new music platform designed by and for fans of electronic music. Emerging from the heart of the Asian underground, the Thailand-based producer and DJ, Sunju Hargun, presents an exclusive recording from last year's @rural_jp festival in Japan for the Orbcast series. He also reflects on the origin, progression, and thought forms of his new album, The Golden Triangle. Inviting us inside the creative haven of TMM Studios in Bangkok. As a new gate opens, the rite continues; our reach into fourth worlds and mystic imagination deepens. The Golden Triangle marks the first chapter of a two-part solo album by Siamese Twins co-founder Sunju Hargun—the first solo release on his label. Two years in the making, this deeply personal work reflects his extensive experimentation, collaboration, and grounding within an ethereal, imaginary universe. Rooted percussion forms the foundation of these tales, with haunting patterns that evoke visions of the past—visions untethered from conventional structures. The album incorporates instruments inspired by the rhythms and grooves of Phlaeng Luk Thung, while capturing the pulse of everyday life in the kingdom of Siam. Recorded entirely in Bangkok at TMM Studios and staying true to the label's spirit of cross-cultural interaction, the album also features contributions from visiting artists. The Golden Triangle is a personal cartography reflecting Sunju's roots, exploring new routes and means of communication toward the cosmic unknowns surrounding him. Today's premiere is the mesmerizing title track, The Golden Triangle, a reflection of Sunju's distinctive style—bridging diverse worlds to craft a realm entirely his own. The track unfolds with a meditative calm, drawing listeners into a serene space where time seems to dissolve. It's a portal to higher consciousness, where every sound floats effortlessly, and the weight of reality slips away. The release also features two outstanding collaborations with GiGi FM and Konduku. The Golden Triangle is set for release on March 1. https://soundcloud.com/sunjuhargun https://www.instagram.com/sunjuhargun Follow us on social media: https://soundcloud.com/itsdelayed https://linktr.ee/delayed https://www.delayed.nyc https://www.facebook.com/itsdelayed https://www.instagram.com/_____delayed https://www.youtube.com/@_____delayed Contact us: info@delayed.nyc
@sunjuhargun is based in Thailand and has been bringing all new energy to the Asian scene for more than 20 years. He has Indian heritage and Japanese roots which inform his mystic sound and the music he releases via the the label he co-founded, Siamese Twins Records. As he proved when he played our festival back in summer, he transcends musical and cultural borders to bring everything from, warm and percussive tribal grooves to more psychedelic sounds, acid textures and mind altering techno. Sunju explains his approach to this week's mix. "I wanted to capture a special memory using records picked up during my trips between Amsterdam and Japan over the past few years. The result is a selection that blends the past, present, and future. As with every mix, I approach things naturally, with spontaneity. Live recordings have a unique energy that you can only feel in person, but sometimes that feeling can get lost when making a mix at home. This here is 60 mins of a raw, spontaneous reflection of friends in my living room, just hitting record and going for it. No filter, no perfection—just creativity with a limited selection.”
Friday evening at the Varden stage Sunju Hargun laid down his signature shamanic grooves, providing the perfect soundtrack for our beloved forest. Delicately teasing and building the set into a masterclass of full-blown psychedelia, he seamlessly combined mind-bending obscurities and deep cuts from distant niches into one flawless, reality warping trip. Step into the wormhole back to the forest today. With the Magnetic Fields Festival taking over Alsisar this weekend for its 9th edition, New Delhi producer, DJ and Qilla Records co-founder Madhav Shorey aka Kohra and Thailand's globe-trotting polymath Sunju Hargun are revisiting their B2B set from last year. Performed at the Resident Advisor afterparty, a highlight for the dancefloor-dedicated with its music going from the late hours of the night to the earliest moments of the morning, the accumulated energy of the night and its transformation into the morning audible in the set. Acid's mind-bending textures give way to increasingly guttural techno, pulling heavily from its minimal repertoire. As the night sky begins to lighten, the emotions are guided by the wash of the pads for a more refreshing conclusion. For MNMT 392 Sunju Hargun presents a very special mix. This incredible 2.5 hour journey was recorded in the Japanese mountains at the legendary Paramount Festival earlier this year. Delivered during the precious hours of sunrise with sounds of time bending, space stretching delights. Essential listening. Sunju Hargun has over fifteen years of experience DJing, he has showcased his skills across the globe, from space-out sets in jungles to power psychedelic music in abandoned warehouses. From Asia to Europe, Panorama Bar to Organik Festival, Sunju has illustrated how his unique cross-fusion of cultures and musical blends is loved across multiple continents. Building on his own Thai and Bangkok identity, with Indian and Japanese roots, Sunju, himself a fusion of various cultures across the Asian continents, has been one of the leading regional actors, ensuring that cross-pollination and collaboration have become essential facets of the Southeast Asian scene, with inspiration and energy regularly transmitting between cities and crews. Beyond his love for DJing and bringing his musically diverse pallet to the dance floors, his labor-of-love projects, Karma Klique, and @siamesetwinsrecords, also are finding an ever-growing foundation in the pan-Asian electronic music scene, fostering human and musical connections across the region and beyond. Japanese electronic music mainstay Gonno is back with another quality EP in the form of Taiwanese imprint JIN's 8th release. The label, which usually focuses on dancefloor oriented 4/4 from Asian talent, has featured many prominent artists from the region including Mr. Ho and Sunju Hargun. JIN08 consists of 4 tracks, 3 Gonno originals backed by a Voiski remix. The B2, Arabica, serves as a beautiful ambient closer, serving as a perfect complement to the preceding three tracks, juxtaposing all the emotions from the other tracks with the melancholy and nostalgia that comes at the end of a fun night out. From bubbly, happy house on “Energy Flash” to IDM on “Final Hate” to Voiski's synth-oriented reinterpretation of “Energy Flash”, the EP continues Gonno's streak of avant-garde dance floor goodness that we have come to expect. JIN08 is available for pre-order now, and will be out on September 29, 2023, digitally via the label's Bandcamp and on vinyl on the One Eye Witness website. write up by https://soundcloud.com/sabro96 https://jinrecords.bandcamp.com/album/jin-08 https://soundcloud.com/gonno https://soundcloud.com/jintaipei https://www.instagram.com/djgonno/ https://www.instagram.com/jinrecordstaipei/ www.itsdelayed.com www.instagram.com/_____delayed/ www.facebook.com/itsdelayed
Mogambo knit together a heady, hypnotic sound from the many enigmatic strands of Asia's musical cultures: the deep traditional instrumentations of Siam and India, the high-tech edge of modern Bangkok and the rich Goan bloodline of trance. The results are both otherworldly, yet instantly comprehensible. And now the duo, consisting of producer Sunju Hargun and multi-instrumentalist Jerom Doudet, return with the latest missive from their own aptly-titled Siamese Twins Records: Urvi (उव). The much- anticipated follow-up to their sought-after debut 12” Cobra (कोबरा) is a multi-layered sound bath, as versatile as it is visceral. Urvi ranges from meditative sonic explorations to fearless entrancing rhythms and basslines, tangled together from the mysterious East. The opening track of the release and our premiere for today, "Durga (दुर्गा)," sounds like a start of the journey full of uncertainty but armed with the hope that something good will come out of it. Its positivity sets a good vibe for the rest of the release, which later gets more energetic with "Urvi," "Chakkar," and "Piya" and explores the depths of trance mysticism. Urvi (उव) EP is set for release on March 15th https://soundcloud.com/sunjuhargun https://soundcloud.com/siamesetwinsrecords Sunju Hargun/Mogambo on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/sunjuhargun/
GiGi FM is a trained dancer, which gives her a deeper insight into the intrinsic relationship between music and bodily movement. You can read a lot more about her philosophy and approach in the interview below, but you don't even need to know about it to hear this in her RA Podcast—a collection of swirling deep techno that rivals anything made by the usual cohort of "hypnotic" techno heads. Looking at the tracklist doesn't really do it justice, but the names involved give you an idea of what to expect: Varuna, ASC, Donato Dozzy, The Orb, Sunju Hargun. This is techno that ripples rather than bludgeons, that moves with an ethereal grace, where tracks bleed into one another beautifully, with a few surprises, too. While you're here, you should check out her Magnetite EP for Bambounou's label Bambe, already one of the young year's most bewitching techno records. But if this is your introduction, then turn off the lights, light a candle or some palo santo, and sink into two hours of your new favorite techno DJ. Read more: http://ra.co/podcast/822 @ gigi-fm
Southeast Asia is made up of diverse dance music markets that feel strongest when united. A steady stream of cross-border collaborations has come to define the region's underground nightlife, with Bangkok-based Sunju Hargun at the forefront of many of these exchanges. Over the years, he's honed a signature sound of minimal techno, tribal rhythms and deep downtempo while playing in Singapore, Indonesia and Vietnam. Inspired by the traditional music of these countries, his DJ sets and productions are lush tonal sound baths, with plenty of nature references. Shimmering ambient evokes misty mountain tops while whiffs of Goa trance nod to beach sunrises. His current project, Siamese Twins Records, is also rooted in pan-Asian connections. A platform to explore old-world chants and ceremonial percussion, the label hosts much of Hargun's own work, including Bollywood-inspired acid made as Mogambo, a production outfit he runs with Jerom Doudet. All these myriad styles are present on Hargun's RA Podcast, an hour-long trip where flickering synths reverberate like gongs before morphing into an amorphous mass of dub techno, jungle noises and meandering modular sequences. It is our pleasure to present you our guests for June, 05, 2015. Glowrec. Our brother fro the Glowrec. family ZaVen (DJ - Producer) all the way from Heiloo , Netherlands. Sven Dekker, also known as ZaVen is a dj and producer that has been a noticeable figure in the party scene of the Netherlands since 1989. His sound appealed to chillout & lounge lovers. ZaVen was born in 1973 in Alkmaar where he lived for 24 years. At the age of 20, his musical journey started and he walked in with his first set of Technics 1200SL, an amplifier, a Datec Mixer and two big speakers. Though it was a challenging learning experience, through volume restrictions, family complaints and neighbours’ objections, ZaVen refused to quit his learning curve of mixing skills. On the contrary, he persisted his path to creating his own tracks and his own signature sound. He started production on PC programs like Screamtracker and Madtracker. Those tracks were based on styles TripHop and experimental Breakbeat. In 1998, ZaVen moved to a small village called Heiloo where he still resides today. His first gig started in 2001 when he played at an underground party called 'Alice in Wonderland' at 'De Raad' Alkmaar. He presented the crowd with some of his own tracks and others with an underground taste of ambient records. 2005 marked a milestone for ZaVen when his mixing and production talent didn’t stay unnoticed and he was invited to play at prominent festivals, like Dance Valley in the Chill Out area. Following his success, he was inspired to divert from his usual chillout sound and started exploring arising sounds like techno, deep and tech house. This affected his production as he was still using Madtracker, while modern programs like Cubase, Ableton, Pro-Logic were available. People were amazed with what ZaVen could do with trackerprogram in combination with Cool Edit Pro for sampling, yet convinced him that using modern programs will result in much better productions. In 2014, ZaVen started to use Fruity Loops 10 interface and within couple of weeks he got his first demo tracks on Soundcloud. Lucas Fox and DMC World placed his track 'Sky Castle' on 'LFSTyle in Ibiza, vol.1' cd and Glowrec offered ZaVen his first EP 'Roomservice' with 3 tech house tracks. His EP is a combination of warm groovy beats with melodies now known to be a typical ZaVen sound.
