Looking at the tracklist doesn't really do it justice, but the names involved give you an idea of what to expect: Varuna, ASC, Donato Dozzy, The Orb, Sunju Hargun. This is techno that ripples rather than bludgeons, that moves with an ethereal grace, where tracks bleed into one another beautifully, with a few surprises, too. Une expérimentation dans deux salles : le Cabaret Sauvage et le Moulin Rouge, avec 2000 personnes vaccinées mais sans masque, pour y évaluer le risque de transmission du covid19. Plus précisément, « Ce projet vise à évaluer le risque de transmission du SARS-CoV-2 chez des personnes vaccinées participant à une soirée clubbing à jauge pleine, sans masque et en lieu clos » : c'est ce qu'a indiqué l'agence sanitaire ANRS/Maladies infectieuses émergentes, qui pilote le projet avec l'AP-HP (Assistance publique - Hôpitaux de Paris).Une étude scientifique, donc, dont les résultats sont attendus fin juillet. Elle n'aura pas d'incidence sur la réouverture du 9 juillet, ni sur les mesures déjà annoncées (vaccination ou test négatif, jauge de 75 % du public, port du masque pas obligatoire mais recommandé).Ce qui fait plaisir, c'est l'affiche de ces clubbing tests. Laurent Garnier, Etienne de Crécy, Pedro Winter, Kiddy Smile, Chloé, Bambounou...Et attention : il faut 4400 volontaires franciliens, âgés de 18 à 49 ans.Ces volontaires doivent être complètement vaccinés (deux doses ou une seule pour ceux qui ont déjà eu le Covid, le tout depuis au moins 14 jours), qu'ils n'aient pas de comorbidités qui les exposent à un risque de forme grave. Parmi ces volontaires, 2200 participeront aux deux soirées, et les 2200 autres non, sur tirage au sort. 2200 vont s'amuser, 2200 auront le seum. Ça permettra de comparer les deux situations pour savoir si le fait d'avoir été aux soirées augmente le risque de contamination. It's not often an artist serves up a debut album as accomplished and complete as Bambounou's XXX in 2012. His ambient synths and techno rhythms were perfectly formed right from the off. Impressively, the Pairs-based artist has still managed to evolve and explore plenty of new ground in the years since, not least in March with the first release on his new label Bambe. It found the straight-up, muscular grooves of his early work making way for a more restrained and minimal sound, where heady repetition and hypnotic pads seem to bend space and time. It's fair to say that all aspects of the Bambounou sound past and present make up this week's mix. It kicks off in high gear, like a caged animal finally let free into the wild. The synths are nasty and twisted, the hammering rhythms never let up and cacophonous percussion keeps the intensity levels high. The frenetic pace remains throughout but there are occasional moments to catch your breath as tracks are stripped back to their bare bones. Ultimately, though, this is a peak time mix from a true techno futurist.

Since 2015, Fabrizio Pasetto aka Gaiden is Florence's "Tropical Animals" resident DJ and co-founder of Sainte-Cécile Techno Party. Massimiliano Pagliara, Avalon Emerson,Inga Mauer, Adiel, Dj Red,Tornado Wallace,Bambounou, Dj Boring e Dj Octopus are just a small part of the artists with whom he has been working recently. Always taking on a tireless musical research on Techno, Ambient, Drone and Downtempo records, he has now become a point person in his city, Florence. In 2018, he obtained a master's degree at the Roma Design Sound school, becoming a sound engineer among his teachers: Enrico Cosimi ( one of the leading international experts in Sound Synthesis, musician, composer and beta-tester ) and Francesco Bonomo ( M.A. in Sound Engineering's main Lecturer in Rome, at Tor Vergata University ). As usual I'm striving to pick records from the more melodic side of techno with the odd housey bits thrown in. I basically love all the records in the mix obviously, however if I had to pick a few records it would be the ASOK track, Bambounou, the incredible Barker track, Kenny's Remix for Freq, which I recently re-discovered, that amazingly simple acid tune by Donato Dozzy and my favorite soul house record to date, Peven Everett's 'How Bad I Want You'. I am honoured to be able to contribute a mix to this series especially as I have a long history playing in Melbourne, dating back to 2002 if I'm not mistaken. The great vibes of this city have certainly been in the back of my head when putting this mix together."

The Parisian artist @Blndr releases an EP with @IntervisionParis label. The six-tracker takes a glimpse on the producer's experiemental side, and it features remixes from Acronym, Bambounou and Paulie Jan. Monument premieres Fading Smiles, one of the original tracks of the release. Les Fantômes De La Côte EP is out in digital format on October 15th, and on vinyl on November 9th.
