Grace & Grit Podcast: Helping Women Everywhere Live Happier, Healthier and More Fit Lives
Bryan Johnson has spent an estimated two million dollars a year trying to reverse his biological age. He tracks everything. Optimizes everything. Submits to more medical testing than most people experience in a lifetime. And recently, he was diagnosed with an autoimmune condition. I am not sharing this to pile on. I am sharing it because I think it illustrates something important that we need to talk about. Health is not a problem to be solved through enough data and enough precision. The human body is a living system in constant relationship with your emotions, your connections, your sense of meaning, and your nervous system. No supplement stack compensates for all of that. In this episode I make the case for what actually builds health, and why optimization, as a primary strategy, misses the point. Ready to go deeper? ⏳ Why ‘Almost Done' Is Where California Divorces Get Stuck | Los Angeles Divorce Many couples believe that once most of the divorce paperwork is done, the process is basically finished—but in California, that assumption often leads to long, quiet delays. In this video, we explain why being almost done isn't the same as being complete, how missing or unfiled documents can stall a case without warning, and why silence from the court doesn't mean approval. Join Fr. Nicholas & Dr Roxanne as they continue with a five-part series on Practical Christianity Through the Book of James. This episode will be the fourth chapter on Faith that Submits -- Humility before God, Resisting Pride and Worldliness.
Book of James Series — Chapter 4 In this week's episode of Worthy Pursuit, Amy walks through James 4 and the powerful call for believers to submit fully to God. When our desires clash with God's desires, tension rises — but James reminds us that the path to peace, clarity, and spiritual strength always begins with humble surrender. James challenges us to look at the motives behind our choices, the battles happening inside our hearts, and the pride that so easily distances us from God. But woven through this chapter is a beautiful promise: "He gives more grace." Grace to resist temptation. Grace to overcome worldly influences. Grace to walk in joyful obedience. In this episode, Amy breaks down: Why conflict and struggle often start within our own desires The difference between worldly wisdom and godly wisdom What true submission looks like in everyday life How pride destroys peace — and humility restores it A practical step-by-step rhythm for drawing near to God Why boasting about tomorrow keeps us from being faithful today You'll walk away encouraged, grounded, and equipped to approach every decision — big or small — with a heart that says, "Lord, Your will over mine." Key Scriptures James 4:1–12 — Turning from selfish desires & returning to God James 4:13–17 — Living with humility and purpose in every decision Challenge of the Week Where in your life is God inviting you to submit, surrender, or slow down? Ask Him to reveal one area where He wants to lead you differently — and commit to one step of obedience this week.
