Lisa, alongside her friends, invites listeners to explore faith, relationships, and personal transformation. In this episode, Maylin Abraham shares a profound reflection on her spiritual journey over the past year, focusing on transformation and renewal.Maylin delves into the concept of "New," a word revealed to her by God, symbolizing not merely the acquisition of new physical possessions, but the inner transformation of heart and mind. Emphasizing spiritual renewal, Maylin relates this journey to scriptural passages, such as Revelation 21:5 and Romans 12:2, to encourage listeners to embrace divine transformation by renewing their hearts and minds. Her personal testimony serves as a powerful reminder of God's priority on spiritual growth over material wealth, leaving listeners with profound insights and actionable steps towards spiritual alignment.Key Takeaways:The word “New” represents spiritual renewal, not just the acquisition of new physical objects.God's focus is on transforming our hearts and minds to align us with His perfect will.Scriptures such as Revelation 21:5 and Romans 12:2 emphasize the importance of internal transformation.Material possessions are transient; true contentment and transformation come through spiritual renewal.Embracing spiritual transformation leads to understanding God's good, acceptable, and perfect will.Notable Quotes:“He who sat on the throne said, behold, I make all things new.” - Maylin Abraham quoting Revelation 21:5.“The Lord isn't caught up with the physical items that we possess.” - Maylin Abraham“Be transformed by the renewing of your minds, that we may prove what is that good, acceptable, and perfect will of God.” - Maylin Abraham quoting Romans 12:2.“Allowing God to renew our hearts and minds so that we can align ourselves with his good, acceptable and perfect will.” - Maylin

GO FORWARD CONFERENCE|| DEC 2024| DAY 2 (part a) | CHIMDI OHAHUNA Understanding God's Constant Nature and Dynamic Operations.   Welcome to another episode of our podcast series. Previously, we explored God's constant nature, consistent with Hebrews 13:8: "Jesus Christ the same yesterday, today, and forever." We understood that while God's nature remains unchanged, His operations are progressive and dynamic, aligning with His unchanging Word. God's move is the end product of His eternal nature, initiated before time began. Thus, time is essentially trying to catch up with God's move, not vice versa.   This misconception has often led the Church to believe we need to keep up with worldly trends, but the truth is, that God's work is always ahead. We must maintain our stance and not be swayed by every new trend or vogue.   God's consistent nature means He will not conform to our changing values and trends. Practices such as fasting, prayer, Bible study, wholehearted service, and consecration remain integral. Fashion and modernity do not diminish the importance of these spiritual disciplines. Similarly, giving, rooted in God's giving nature, should never be questioned. Any teaching that diverts us from these fundamental aspects of God's nature is misleading.   Time lacks the power to separate us from God's love. Romans 8:35-39 reassures us that nothing can separate us from His love. Persecution and trials are merely products of time, but God's love is eternal.   In our spiritual journey, we must be open and honest with God about our feelings and struggles. David's prayer in Psalm 139:23-24, "Search me, O God, and know my heart," exemplifies the transparency we should maintain with God. This openness allows the Holy Spirit to work within us, transforming and maturing us.   Relationships, including marriage, require purpose and understanding. Allowing God to search us helps maintain healthy relationships by addressing issues and preventing barriers. Similarly, in our walk with God, self-examination is crucial. Self-awareness and acknowledging our faults fosters growth and prevents us from becoming stagnant.   Jesus teaches us to have a childlike attitude towards God, being naked and unashamed before Him. This openness allows us to receive information from the Holy Spirit, facilitating growth and creation. The first move of God was creation, which began with information gathering.   God does not use information against us but provides it through the Holy Spirit to help us grow. We are invited to come and reason with Him, aligning our lives with His will.   Join us in this enlightening episode as we delve deeper into understanding God's constant nature, His dynamic operations, and the importance of openness and self-examination in our spiritual journey. Let's embrace the transformation the Holy Spirit brings and align ourselves with God's eternal and progressive plan.   LORD, HELP US TO MAINTAIN OUR STANCE IN YOU AND EMBRACE YOUR CONSTANT NATURE AND DYNAMIC OPERATIONS. When we consider our stewardship to God's Church, will we find ourselves in the torment of hell because we did nothing with God's good things? We must act now!

Is perfection possible? And if so, is it worth the cost to your mental and spiritual health? The quest for perfection haunts many people: students, athletes, employees, parents—and the children of those parents! While this quest is often framed as the pursuit of excellence, virtue, and success, perfectionism often results in various maladaptive behaviours—such as procrastination, people-pleasing, relational stress, and mental illnesses, including anxiety and depression disorders. In this episode, Mark Labberton welcomes Dr. Kenneth Wang, Professor of Psychology at Fuller School of Psychology, to talk about the psychological and spiritual dynamics of perfectionism. Together, they explore the connections between perfectionism and a range of personal and mental health issues, such as depression, achievement, religiosity, racial identity, and self-esteem. They reflect on the cultural obsession with perfection; the severe psychological and social burdens of trying to be perfect; the toxicity of comparison to others; the meaning of being “good enough”; and the spiritual impact of encouraging perfection in education, career, relationships, and personal life. About Kenneth Wang Kenneth Wang is Professor of Psychology at Fuller School of Psychology. He's an experienced therapist, and has conducted extensive research that spans the psychology of religion, to mindful meditation, to coping with trauma, mental health and race, moral character and virtue formation, diversity, and cross-cultural adjustment. His expertise is in the psychological study of perfectionism in familial, educational, religious contexts—looking at the phenomenon across a variety of cultures. God says a lot about the transformative nature of His words within our lives when we take the time to meditate on it. In this program, Cindy facilitates a conversation with Jill, Lauren Bassford and Dana Burk around how the world's practice of meditation differs from what the scriptures describe. The panel will also discuss in what sense is the Word of God  “alive”, and the indispensable nature of self-evaluation as a tool in overcoming our weaknesses and changing our lives for the better.

Nikita Koloff, better known as the "Russian Nightmare," stormed the wrestling world as few others have in the history of the sport. Imposing, immovable, and unbeatable, Nikita left a trail of fallen opponents as he brought the Cold War that loomed over the globe into the ring. From a hard-scrabble beginning to rings around the world, Nikita Koloff filled arenas, thrilled fans, and captured five world titles in the process. And then, when he was at the top of his game, he walked away from the sport. Little did he know that 11 months later, on October 17, 1993, he would find himself at an altar surrendering his life to Jesus. This encounter changed everything, including, his heart, his attitude, his focus, his mindset, and his destiny. Fast forward all these years later, he has now preached in approximately 1200 churches, 28 different denominations, as well as traveled to all 50 states and 30 countries. Our prayer is that as you hear this inspiring testimony of how God performed "heart surgery" on Nikita, that you too would realize that Jesus is the only One who can truly satisfy your soul, and no matter how far gone you may feel, you're never out of His reach.  Nikita's website: https://www.koloff.net/about.html Purchase Nikita's Book: https://www.amazon.com/NIKITA-Tale-Redemption-Nikita-Koloff/dp/0984409068

Hey Winner, We are called to pray fervently, and God is and will be working in the background, but we have a role to play too. Waiting is an action verb. In waiting for the Lord's answers or the, "Yes, go!" we can be planning what the next steps are, and, along the way, God will confirm them (or change them). We need to be in motion for God to move us in the direction he wants us to go. Fervent prayer + proper planning + getting in motion where you are now + being attentive and flexible = allowing God to lead your life and business Let's talk about this!
