2019 Dec Let there be (groove) house!     Bar into club soulful grooves with a hint of Disco. All tracks except two released in 2019.   Continuing the HedKandi homage with a set emulating Frankie Knuckles live set structure vibe and bpm range (suffice to say that I do not compare myself with the great Frankie).   Starts with a SuperClub dining atmosphere and moves into smooth clubland soundscape.   The pre-millennials will recognize the HedKandi homage. When CDs were still a thing and labels could make money, compilations such as the HK ones were a must and introduce a whole generation to house in all its forms and iterations. We paid for them, discovered tunes and artists curated by the music directors of the labels.   A very different landscape to the A.I. spotified generated playlists which due to the algorithm merely selects a very narrow sample what you are "supposed" to like.   The “let there be House” series is my attempt to resurrect the genre with current tunes. There will be about 9 to 10 episodes in the “Let there be House” series, hopefully each with its unique flavour. No particular order but for the fact that we will go up tempo throughout the uploads. Second episode runs from 120 bpm to 121, yet reaches disco club land.   Had forgotten how easy it is to mix well-produced house! First and foremost Happy New Year! Be Safe and Healthy wherever you are! 2013 New Year's Day Live Set (3 hours long beware before you on a mobile device and pay horrendous charges) Straight from the mixer, a 3 hour soulful, vocal and funky house extravaganza with all your favourites from 2012 and late 2011. It was sunny, on the early afternon of NYD, we were on our roof top, with a makeshift stand for the gear made out of an old plot printer from work, powered speakers just bought from the pawnbroker down the road and surrounded by close friends with whom we always try (rain or shine) to spend the first day of the year.. It had the feel of an original "House Party".. Above all, I wanted to avoid the disaster of last year, and I, therefore, selected the very, very top shelf of my vocal house (hand)bag House.. Nothing groundbreaking, all overground> This was not the time to be "clever"... The aim was to get my friends to come to me and say "oh I love this one", "this is one of my favourite", or "what is that? I love it".. well.. it might not have been underground and there were no edits nor acapellas, but I think I did achieve what I attempted.. We had a GREAT New's Day and this very simple, happy set made the Freemasons' one dimensional set later on very bearable. The Greek Sessions: Poolside in Santorini  First of 3 if all goes to plan. As to "Call My Name", DJ Meme cannot do anything wrong.. I still remember an event in Melbourne, where he kept us going for 3 hours, as a warmer for Dimitri from Paris, whom (patriotism aside) brought everyone to sleep in 20 minutes flat..
