Dead Walter Cronkite said…nothing. Segment 12: Russell Brand‘s trial on rape and sexual assault charges has been delayed. The trial, which will combine all seven charges that have been brought against the comedian and actor in the last year, was originally set to begin in London on June 16th but will now begin on Oct. 12th. It is expected to last up to two SALACIOUS months. Loser. Segment 13: The teaser trailer for HBO’s Harry Potter series shattered records, amassing over 277 million views in its first 48 hours. The debut teaser more than doubled the previous record for the most-watched trailer in HBO history, setting the stage for the series’ release on Christmas Day, 2026. It was a disappointment for the company, which has been bleeding money over the past several quarters. A spokesperson for AMC said, “While we are not proceeding with another season, we are proud of the series” and BLAH BLAH BLAH…” Segment 15: Trash Bin – A minor, who is accusing diddler and reality tv star Joseph Duggar of grooming and sexual assault, detailed her allegations to investigators. At age 60, Erica Rand decided to take up pairs figure skating. As two white queer adult skaters, Rand and her partner have come into direct contact with the interconnected binarisms that shape athletic participation, from oversimplified distinctions between cis and trans to the artificial division between athletic and artistic. Rand's book Skating Away from the Binary is a call to transform gender norms in sport. Here, Rand is joined in conversation with Travers and Mary Louis Adams. This conversation was recorded in December 2025.Erica Rand is professor of art and visual culture and of gender and sexuality studies at Bates College. Whether you believe in ghosts or not, questions about the paranormal can serve as an entry into the historical context of a place. Last episode, we visited the Old Joliet Prison to look into a lister's question about whether it's haunted. And that got us thinking about the ethics of “prison tourism.” Is it OK to take a place where people suffered and died and turn it into a site of entertainment?
