Want to see the real-time historical performance of the Infinite Banking Concept?  Usually, when you hear about policy performance, it's from looking at illustrations. But illustrations aren't "performance," they are projections of future growth, based on current dividends and interest. That's why we love getting the opportunity to share the actual historical performance of Infinite Banking policies, and our philosophy and vision for building our family banking system with multiple policies.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C39wi4O3838 Today, we're discussing the actual capitalization, growth, dividends, cash values, and death benefit of our Family Bank. Our conversation shifts to the personal legacy we're crafting through our family banking system, a journey that began 11 years ago with our first whole life insurance policy. We recount the pivotal decisions that shaped our financial foundation, such as transitioning our assets from precious metals to a more liquid form.  We delve into the significance of long-term planning and how our present actions are intended to bless generations to come. Engage with us and consider how you might shape your own infinite banking story. Lastly, we explore the strategic intricacies of life insurance policies, emphasizing the importance of designing a policy to allow for as large of premiums for as long as possible. Prior Episodes In This SeriesStructure of the Family Banking SystemDividends on the Annual StatementNew IllustrationsThe Difference in a YearBook A Strategy Call Prior Episodes In This Series Part 1 Mar 2022: Why We Started a New Life Insurance Policy Part 2 Oct 2022: Adding a Second Whole Life Policy Part 3 Feb 2023: Capitalization Phase - End Of Year Update Structure of the Family Banking System In this episode, we take a look at the annual statements for our family banking policies, and the components to be aware of. It's important to us that we share what we're doing with our family so that you can see proof of the Infinite Banking Concept in action. In the first policy (listen or watch the full episode to get the details on our 2nd policy as well) we examine, our total premium is $20,000. However, you can break down that premium and see that there are several components at “work” in our premium.  The base premium is the minimum amount of premium that must be paid every year to keep the policy current. This is actually only a little more than $7,000. The rest of the 20k premium is composed of Paid Up Additions (PUA) and other riders. One such rider is called “waiver of premium.” This rider can only be applied to the base premium, and it protects the policy owner from paying premiums in the event of a disability that prevents working. There is also a term insurance rider on the policy, with its own waiver of premium rider.  The term insurance rider lasts for 30 years, and the corresponding death benefit will drop off after that term unless it's converted to additional life insurance. This conversion option allows us to keep that death benefit if we wish, and build additional cash value after it's converted to whole life insurance. This is a great way to maximize your death benefit when you're starting out.  Dividends on the Annual Statement On our annual summary, you can also see the total accumulated dividend we earned for the year and how it was applied. The line items can get a bit confusing, as it moves between dividends and additional death benefit, but for the year our total dividend was $4,233.15. A large portion of this came from the base policy, while a more significant portion of this came from various PUAs. Our “lifetime” total for dividends earned since 2021 is $7,800.48. So in one year, we earned more dividends than the previous year. This is a testament to the power of compounding interest.  In this section, you can see that the PUAs are also adding about $2 of death benefit for every dollar of premium...

The world changed in March 2020. Public events and social gatherings took a backseat. As we recover from the pandemic over two years later, are we ready to attend large in-person conferences? In this special 10th episode of CDO Matters, Malcolm becomes his own guest and takes a look into the future of in-person conferences through the lens of his experiences at four industry events this summer including an in-depth review of a celebrated annual conference, Microsoft Ignite. Malcolm details the pros and cons of the conference. The highly anticipated event hosted 3,500 in-person attendees in Seattle, but over 200,000 online attendees around the globe. Most notably, the in-person attendees – many of whom came from overseas – paid thousands of dollars to attend while online attendees received free admission. Malcolm discusses the differences between the two experiences such as peer networking, vendor interactions, and expert advice. Was the in-person experience worth it? He also discusses the incredible diversity of conference content – ranging from the desktop to the cloud and everything in between – being an additional challenge for CDOs seeking in-person networking and peer interactions. Unexpectedly, any data-related content that was available focused on data infrastructure, but not on people or processes supporting data management. The irony of a conference with little CDO-centric content or networking opportunities, but with a primary theme/track of “becoming data-driven” is highlighted in this episode. Here, Malcolm is forced to question the future of these events and whether in-person conferences remain relevant in 2022. Despite a suboptimal experience in Seattle, Malcolm shares his firm belief that in-person conferences are still alive, and that creating a highly effective ‘hybrid' event, based on experiences at other conferences he attended this summer – most notably the CDOIQ conference – is doable. There is a pent-up demand for conferences coming out of COVID-related lockdowns driving attendance, but more importantly at the right conference, there are still significant benefits CDOs can gain from in-person exchanges of insights and experiences that online events cannot provide.Key Moments [2:07] The Role of the CDO and Why We Started the Podcast[6:07] Audience Attendance [8:52] Networking Challenges[10:17] Presentation Style and Sensory Output[12:37] Are In-Person Conferences Dead?[14:02] The Future of Hybrid Events[16:07] On-Site vs. Online Event Experience[18:22] Discussions and Interaction[20:07] Presentation Hubs and Breakout Sessions[25:07] Conference Layout[28:22] The Good and the Bad (What Worked and What Didn't)[34:27] Closing StatementsKey Takeaways Why the Podcast Started (1:33)“We started this podcast because…what I saw in the market were really things that just weren't working for CDOs…a lot of the same messages that we had been hearing for years. What I see less of is moving the needle: results. We know that CDO tenures are very short. Anywhere from two to two and a half years…when I look to the community of people, like myself, that are providing insights, providing best practices, providing the tips and tricks on how to be a better CDO, I saw very little derivation…yet businesses changed.” — Malcolm HawkerAre In-Person Conferences Dead? (13:07)“Are on-site, in-person events dead? Most certainly not. I went to four this year. I went to Ignite, the DGIQ conference in San Diego, the CDOIQ conference in Boston and I went to the Gartner Data and Analytics conference in September in Orlando and they were all full…there's most certainly a demand for on-site events. Now whether this is a post-COVID phenomenon? I really don't think so.” — Malcolm HawkerIn-Person vs. Online (16:07)“Some people do actually enjoy interacting with vendors and being able to talk to others about their solutions. But if you don't get the networking, if you don't get to interact with vendors, if you don't get the peer, one-to-one opportunities, then why would you attend in person? It would be really tough to justify spending thousands of dollars if you can do the exact same thing online”. — Malcolm HawkerEPISODE LINKS & RESOURCES:Follow Malcolm on LinkedInVisit the Microsoft Ignite website

Every woman deserves performance. We have observed that there is A LOT of B.S. information out there for women coming from the fitness and health industries, which gets even worse as we age. Because of this, we saw the need to bring trusted information to women so we can feel and perform our best.  The launch of the https://www.womensperformance.com/ (Women's Performance Podcast) features host, Sara Gross, with three change-makers, movers, and shakers in the women's performance space - https://www.drstacysims.com/ (Dr. Stacy Sims), https://livefeisty.com/category/podcasts/hit-play-not-pause/ (Selene Yeager), and https://www.feistytriathlon.com/ (Jamila Gale-Agans). They discuss multiple topics around performance and dive deep in order to provide solid information and access to resources for active women, coaches, parents, race directors, and companies. Stacy Sims provides perspective on the biggest changes in her field of research, and what new directions she is seeing that will help women. Selene discusses changes she has seen in the fitness industry and media, and how she vets information when working on an article or looking for a guest on the https://livefeisty.com/category/podcasts/hit-play-not-pause/ ("Hit Play Not Pause") podcast Jamila paints a picture of her time as a US Army Officer and the cultural assumptions she had to navigate in this "culture within a culture." They also provided valuable roundtable insight on questions from both Sara and the live audience, including: What does it mean for you to focus on performance in your life? And, how has it changed through the years? What does it mean to continue to focus on performance as we age? How do history and culture affect our work, research, and performance? Why is it important to look at performance through a variety of lenses? What's the best advice you've received as a performance-minded individual? How do you make strength training fun? How do I know if I need a rest day, or if I'm just being lazy? (spoiler alert: you're NOT lazy) Do you train according to your cycles? What is your advice on recovery? In our first episode of The Christian Woman Leadership Podcast, Holly and I share why we are starting the podcast, a bit about our own leadership journeys, and what to expect from this podcast. Why We Started the Podcast: There are lots of podcasts about leadership for Christians, but most are by men and/or are specific to pastors. There are also plenty of podcasts for Christian women, but I didn’t find many related to leadership. Also, I have found a number of podcasts for entrepreneurs, even some for Christian women business owners, but these are specific to business and don’t often cover ministry or church life. I saw the need for a podcast for Christian women in leadership that would address leading in ministry, business, or other areas of your life. That’s how The Christian Woman Leadership Podcast was born. I asked Holly to join me on this project because she and I have worked together in leadership roles, and I knew that she would bring a great perspective to the podcast. Plus, we have a lot of fun together! Our Leadership Journeys: Holly and I both share how we discovered that we are leaders, as well as some of the impactful moments and people in our journeys. Holly’s leadership journey began in her younger years when she fell into various leadership roles. She later had some experiences in college that gave her the opportunity to lead, but church is where she truly began to understand her ability to lead and influence. Down the road, she was able to take on a leadership role in her job as well. My leadership journey started as a child as well, but it didn’t occur to me that I was a leader until a few years ago. I was called “bossy” as a child, and I often was put into leadership positions and given opportunities throughout high school and college. As an adult, I began leading alongside my husband in our church when he became the youth pastor and later executive pastor. I also started a women’s small group and my own business. We also discuss how leaders often have a message to share, and we each share a bit our own messages. What to Expect from The Christian Woman Leadership Podcast: We want to bring you the content that will be most helpful to you in your leadership journey. You will likely be encouraged and challenged by the coming episodes. Here’s an idea of what type of episodes you’ll hear: Interviews with Christian women in leadership - some you may have heard of and some you probably have not. Holly & I chatting about topics related to leadership, providing you with resources and encouragement as you grow as a leader. Some solo episodes where I share a training or topic with you. How You Can Connect With Us: Join our Purposeful Leadership Facebook group! In the Facebook group, we can chat about what you need as a leader, what your challenges are, as well as celebrate the wins. This is a great community to learn and grow together. We want to get to know YOU. This episode was first published at EstherLittlefield.com.
