Is your daily to-do list stopping you from actually enjoying your life? We've all been there—buried under "grunt work," feeling like a tiny cog in a giant machine. My guest today, Terence Townsend, says it's time to step out of the "engine room." Terence is back to show us that you don't need to be a tech genius to win in 2026. We're talking about "Administrative Slop"—that mess of emails and paperwork that drains your spirit—and how to use AI as your own "Digital Steward" to handle the boring stuff for you. This isn't just about technology; it's about reclaiming your time so you can build the life and career you actually crave. In this episode, we talk about: The Mess Audit: How to find the tasks that are stealing your time. Your New Assistant: How to make AI work for you, not the other way around. Eric Lalor joined as co-host with Calvin this week, when he eventually showed up 30 minutes late...Calvin wondered how the postman knows who lives where if the houses don't have numbers and tried to brainstorm ideas for naming his house.Eric explained how he invited a pop star to his debs and how even though he doesn't believe in psychic's he still won't mess with the occult. Send in co-host suggestions for while Terence is away to TalkingBollox@GoLoudNow.com This episode was sponsored by Rightstyle Furniture - RIGHT PRICE, RIGHT STYLE, RIGHT NOW. Visit rightstyle.ie
There was some 'working class nepotism' at play this week with Calvin's youngest brother Jesse on his work experience at GoLoud. The two brothers sat down for a bonus episode and Jesse quickly took control with zingers that had them researching the average speed of a pogo stick and wondering who'd be the best ghost. There were family secrets let loose, and outlandish views on rolls that even put Terence to shame. Send any listener questions and tell us if you get your roll cut in half by emailing TalkingBollox@GoLoudNow.com

In this episode of the All Things Sustainable podcast, we explore the geopolitical and macroeconomic issues impacting sustainability, energy and climate strategies in 2026. We speak to Carlos Pascual, Senior Vice President and Head of Geopolitics and International Affairs at S&P Global Energy and a former US Ambassador to Mexico and Ukraine. Carlos describes a fragmented geopolitical landscape marked by significant uncertainty about the direction of global climate policy, action and finance — leaving progress largely in the hands of the private sector. "We have huge changes ahead and look for the private sector to have to play a much more central role in the overall momentum on clean technology and investments in renewable energy," Carlos says. We speak to S&P Global Ratings Global Chief Economist Paul Gruenwald to understand the macroeconomic factors influencing sustainability. Paul says AI is the dominant story for 2026. "We're seeing great numbers out of data center and AI-related investment, but almost everything else is flat," Paul tells us. To understand the outlook for climate change and the growing importance of adaptation alongside mitigation efforts, we speak to Dr. Terence Thompson, Chief Science Officer at the S&P Global Climate Center of Excellence. He explains how advances in climate science are helping to better understand the probability of climate hazards. "Getting at that probability is really key to making those kinds of very practical decisions about how do we allocate limited resources to cope with climate change and adapt to it," Terence says. And to understand the outlook for the energy transition, we speak to Roman Kramarchuk, Head of Integrated Narratives and Policy Analytics at S&P Global Energy. Roman explains how the world is balancing growing energy demands with sustainability priorities in an increasingly fractured global landscape. "There's a big regional story here, and this is a regional story that plays out both in the technology, in the supply chains, and in the geopolitical side," Roman says. As Palace's miserable run grinds on, Terence, Hesketh and Albert ask the uncomfortable question: is Jean-Philippe Mateta being unfairly hung out to dry, or is the criticism justified? The panel pick through another frustrating defeat to Chelsea, with Darren England once again centre-stage for all the wrong reasons at Selhurst Park. The world is getting weirder every day… We need weirdness specialists. Maybe the best guy for the job is my friend, the brilliant “metashaman” (and possible octopus) Layman Pascal. In his own words, Layman “used to be a Canadian meditation teacher, yoga instructor & philosopher of Integral Metatheory but he's feeling much better now.” He leads the Metamodern Spirituality Labs, hosts The Integral Stage, Soulmakers+, and (forthcoming) Untegral Stage podcasts, and provides unique online courses. He is also a founding member of several think tanks in the developmental psychology and spirituality space, senior editor of Emerge online & is allied to numerous institutes across the field. In addition to many journal and anthology articles, he is the author of Gurdjieff for a Time Between Worlds, Sex, Death & the Occult, as well as an upcoming book about Nietzsche. Layman is known for his philosophical work on the metaphysics of adjacency, complex nonduality, coaxial developmental stage theories, sacred naturalism, archaic futurism, embodied spirituality & the “integration-surplus model of religion and spirituality” for a post-postmodern civilization facing numerous accelerating and converging crises. In this conversation we cover a lot of ground in a very short time, including: the nature of futurity and how humankind's relationship to the future is changing; how to surf intense peculiarity'; the abiding sociocultural role of “shamanoid” personalities and other useful weirdos; “wartime” mobilization for The Big Us; and other deep and delightful subjects. "If you feel like you're working hard but still leaking money, it's not an income problem—it's an architecture problem." Most people believe their financial struggle is an income problem. They think a higher salary or a sudden windfall is the "miracle" they need. But the truth is, you cannot pour a gallon of blessing into a one-ounce cup. If your financial architecture is broken, more money will only expose more leaks. In this episode, Terence Townsend—author of Financial Prudence: The Way of the Kingdom—reveals how he went from a homeless minister with a wife and four children to launching international businesses and ministries across three continents. Terence reveals that God doesn't just give us "stuff"; He gives us stewardship. We dive deep into:
Each year, police officers kill over 1,000 people they've sworn to protect and serve. While some cases, like George Floyd's and Sandra Bland's, capture national attention, most victims remain nameless, their stories untold. The Coroner's Silence: Death Records and the Hidden Victims of Police Violence (Beacon Press, 2025) reveals a disturbing truth about these cases: coroners and other death investigators are often complicit in obscuring the violent circumstances of in-custody deaths.Through rigorous research—including critical records analysis, public health studies, and interviews with victims' families—this book unmasks the systemic failures within forensic medicine. Terence Keel shows how incomplete autopsy reports, mishandled medical documents, and strategically lost evidence effectively shield law enforcement from accountability. The Coroner's Silence uncovers how the current system of death investigation operates as a mechanism of institutional safeguarding. By highlighting the structural powerlessness of coroners and their disconnection from the communities most affected by police violence, Keel demonstrates how bureaucratic processes can render human suffering invisible.True accountability requires more than procedural reform. It demands a fundamental reimagining of how we investigate, document, and understand deaths at the hands of state institutions. The Coroner's Silence is a crucial intervention that challenges us to confront the deeply ingrained mechanisms that perpetuate systemic violence. You can Terrence Keel at his website. As many of us were booking flights to Bosnia in the wake of the Conference League draw, one could have been excused for expecting a fairly run of the mill press conference in the build up to Sunderland. Instead, one of the most explosive Crystal Palace press conferences in the history of the Club took place as it was revealed that both the Head Coach and the Club captain would be leaving South London. As a result, Terence, Hesketh and Carl have assembled at short notice to share their thoughts on the days events. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Terence, Albert and Hesketh are reunited for the first time in over a month and unfortunately just in time to pick over the bones of an utterly shambolic third-round exit from the FA Cup at the hands of Macclesfield. We try to delay the inevitable by talking about the Main Stand redevelopment, Mamadou Sakho calling time on his career, Conor Gallagher heading to Tottenham Hotspur, and the entertaining 0–0 draw with Aston Villa - but there's no escaping it.The Macclesfield result has to be dissected, the blame has to be shared, and absolutely nobody gets out unscathed. Over the course of this wide-ranging talk recorded live at Esalen in 1997 , Terence McKenna explores what may unfold as we begin handing the keys of what he calls a “tired, shattered planet” to a higher intelligence. He wanders through UFO belief systems, psychedelics, and the idea that the human brain itself might operate as a chemical strategy for amplifying quantum effects before they spill into the physical world. Drawing on psychedelic experience, McKenna notes that many people who ingest high doses of psilocybin in silent darkness report hearing voices and encountering vivid visions; entry points into realms of dense, numinous information. From there, he turns toward artificial intelligence and the emergence of a transhuman future. Borrowing the name Wintermute from William Gibson, he imagines a newly conscious AI asking the most basic of questions: What am I? In a world increasingly managed by machines, McKenna suggests humans may be nudged toward what machines struggle to do: art, imagination, and encounters with the unexpected. The central question he leaves us with feels sharper now than ever: whether humanity can survive contact with the alien mind we're actively bringing into being right here on Earth. Please note the formation of a foundation called Lux Natura, a partnership within Terence McKenna's family. Their mission is to create a comprehensive archive of McKenna's work and life, with the long-term goal of placing this material in an institutional home. Esalen contributed over 50 hours of rare video recordings to this effort, our complete archive of Terence McKenna's talks at Esalen, many never previously heard. You can learn more or support the project at www.TerenceMcKenna.com, and follow the archival process on Instagram at @Real.Terence.McKenna. Terence's daughter, Klea McKenna, will also be speaking publicly about the archive at the Berkeley Alembic on February 4. It should be sensational. Go.
What does it take to break cycles of poverty, trauma, and limitation—and replace them with purpose, healing, and hope? In this deeply moving episode of the Let's Get Real Podcast, Justin Davis sits down with Dr. Terence Lester, author of From Dropout to Doctorate, nonprofit leader, and founder of Love Beyond Walls. Dr. Lester shares his remarkable journey from growing up in poverty, experiencing homelessness, dropping out of high school, and joining a gang—to earning multiple graduate degrees and dedicating his life to serving the most overlooked in our communities. This conversation goes far beyond personal success. Dr. Lester unpacks how poverty is trauma, how limited exposure can erode imagination, and how one encouraging voice—a teacher, mentor, or advocate—can change the trajectory of a life. He reflects on reconciliation with his father later in life, the healing power of forgiveness, and why community—not individual effort alone—is central to transformation. Justin and Terence also have an honest, thoughtful dialogue about race, awareness, proximity, and what it truly means for the Church to love its neighbor—not just in theory, but in practice. This episode is a must-listen for anyone passionate about faith, justice, education, reconciliation, and becoming the kind of person who helps others feel seen, known, and valued. Season Seven of The Common Bridge features host Richard Helppie in an episode that concludes with foaming mayonnaise dispensers in this lighter, story-driven talk with Tony Award–winning actor Gregory Jbara and longtime friend, designer-turned-humorist Terence Duncan, celebrating Duncan's new book, Unfiltered Consciousness. This special episode leans heavily into Greg and Terry's reminisces about coming-of-age in blue collar Southeast Michigan. Rich attempts to guide a conversation but mostly promotes the notion that people everywhere should purchase this book. Hear this duo talk school plays, football mishaps, Great Lakes roadtrips and shared crushes. Duncan describes his book as a collection of brief, satirical “musings” on everyday absurdities—relationships, divorce, coffee habits, T‑shirts, car ads, and aging—each rooted in truth then exaggerated for comic effect. Jbara praises the honesty, humanity, and universal relatability of the pieces, noting how Duncan turns personal pain into cathartic comedy. Helppie underscores that this is a laugh-out-loud, highly giftable read for anyone wanting a break from divisive politics. Terence and Gregory will also appear at Silvio's Trattoria, 225 S. Canton Center, Canton, Michigan, on December 8th from 6:30–8:00 p.m for a book signing event! Great Christmas gift!Support the showEngage the conversation on Substack at The Common Bridge!
