Actually, all of John's epistles are warnings. Ever since the church was born, false teachers, heretics, and others have sought to unravel and undermine the work of The Church. John calls out names here and instructs his kids. Ironically, we still need to heed the very words today. False teachers, doctrines, charlatans, and self appointed prophets are all working overtime to derail what is God's Church. John is serving up love for us today. We are incapable of the truest love without the Author of Love. God created love. It's His very essence.
What the Church needs now is love, God's Love. To paraphrase a hit from the last century, we need to admonished today like John spoke in the 1st century. The Church is still working on loving each other. Jesus said the world would know Him if we love each other, not if we love the world. This is a bit of a dive into the pool of love. 1 John 4:7-21. Let's do this
Test the spirits. 1 John 4 gives us a clear model for who to test, how, and why. The lines are drawn. You're either light or darkness.
John the Apostle breaks it down to loving or lying. There is a source for each and it is not the same. You are either the child of God or Satan. There's no middle ground.
How did this whole thing start? We take a break and let y'all in on the way we started and how the podcast started too. God does some amazing things when we just do what He says. If we say yea more than we ask why, we just might discover a much better life.
John gets real specific between good and bad. Which are you? Liar or Righteous? Your fruit will tell everyone whose daddy got you.
Not only do we finish chapter 2 with some great insight, but we share life changing news!
John gets straight to the point here. There's no middle ground. You're either loving the world or God. You're overcoming the evil one or you're defeated by him. You're listening to truth or listening to lies. John makes it clear, there's no grey in God. Email: aguybridebiblepod@gmail.com
John compels us to be in the light, abide there, reside there. The darkness is not for us to live. It is the place we go to die. Read along with us in 1 John 2:1-7
Launching into 1 John today, Bride takes us into commentary and history before we read and talk about it. When was your last foray into John's letters? Email: aguybridebiblepod.con
We end our Colossians reading today with discussion on prayer and some moments of review from the Colossians letter. Thanks for reading along. We are deciding between 1 Peter or 1 John for the next book. Leave a comment or email us where to read next. Email: Aguybridebiblepod@mail.com
Closing up Colossians 3 in this episode. Paul gives us practical principles for life in fellowship, forgiveness being a difficult out but necessary part.
This is a fun episode. Paul tells us how to have the mind of Christ to disengage from our past selves. Bride gets on the spot to teach us how that looks today. Email : aguybridebiblepod@mail.com
Don't let people judge you and don't be fake. Paul gives practical counsel for the believer in life with Christ.
Open your Bible, y'all. We are in the thick of it now. Paul goes straight for the deep end and we are swimming along. Colossians 1:1-14. Hey everyone. We spent some months adjusting to our life in Texas. We have been working and living and now we are relaunching this labor of love. Somethings will be different, some not. Take a listen. Spread the love and share the Pod. Now open your Bibles to Colossians.
Moving along our M'Cheyne reading plan. Joshua and Israel destroy AI, we get drenched in Psalms, and get deep into some prophesy.
Gilbaeth-Haaraloth. You know, sometimes not knowing Hebrew really does lessen the impact of scripture. We learn some texts today that, well, you're just going to have to listen. Joshua 5; Psalm 133-135; Isaiah 65; Matthew 13
We are moving to a new plan for 2023. Created by a Scottish Pastor in the 19th century. Robert M'Cheyne. We are starting with Joshua and will move through OT, NT, Psalms x2.
We read the most important passage of Isaiah. 52-54. Please take your time and let this really take root in your hearts. Isaiah 52:1–54:17; Luke 20:41–21:24; Job 12:1–12
Isaiah 45:14-47-:15 ;Luke 18:9-19:10; Job 10:11-22
Isaiah 44 opens with Yahweh destroying the practice of idol worship. Then he ties up our Isaiah text with the most beautiful call to return to Him. Y'all it's real in the Word. He utterly condemns the evil but He loves His kids. Jesus speaks to His inevitable return. Job, well he's still a mess.
Isaiah 42:10-43:28; Luke 16-17:10; Job 9:25-35 all have a thread in common. Each of our readings show us both the powerful mercy of Yahweh upon His children and unrelenting justice upon the disobedient enemies.
In our Christian coffee cup culture where verses are overused and misplaced, consider sticking Isaiah 41:24 right there. We are reading from Isaiah 41, Luke 15, and Job 9
Ignore the part where Mark tries to sing Hansel's Messiah, and you'll be just fine. We are reading Isaiah 39-40; Luke 14; and Job 9:11-19.
We are reading Isaiah 35-37; Luke 12:22-59; Job 8:11-22. Congratulations to The Bride for passing her national boards. The end of a long journey has arrived God is so good. DNP, APRN, FNP-BC, PMHNP-BC, CNE. This alphabet soup is all her!! Love this woman.
Our reading has this thread woven throughout. Yahweh is a God of Justice, and we ought to be people of Justice.
Isaiah rings true for more than Judah and Samaria. Jesus sends 72 out in Luke. Job is getting a little sassy.
Are you ready? Grab your bibles, your babe or beau, and let's read!!
In Isaiah 25-26, we read about the final victory of Yahweh; Luke tells the story of Jesus sending out the disciples to proclaim His Kingdom; Job responds to his friend and God for the first time. A special shout out to Philip Yancey at the end, you'll want to listen through the end for Bride's story of suffering. “Where is God When it Hurts” is a must read if you are going through something.
Hi guys. We are a couple readings off. Thanks for hanging with us. We start with Isaiah 23-24. If you want to get in touch, leave us an email at andreanmarka@gmail.com

We are all settled in Texas y'all. So, let's get into a new reading from Connecting the Testaments.
Y'all, we have been busy for a minute. We let the big news fly in the first section for our loyal friends on the opening minutes. Our reading is Exodus 19-20; John 4:1-26; Song of Solomon 2: 14-17.

We are traveling to Dallas during this episode. Listen up as we read about the return of the brothers of Joseph; we read the super deep Hebrews 6 and 7 (this can keep you up at night); and sip on some Ecclesiastical wisdom.
Jump on in as we follow the saga of Joseph in Egypt. We get a better hermeneutical look at Christ V. Moses. We find the “Duh” verses of wisdom in Ecclesiastes.
Joseph, a typical last born child and 17y/o, is betrayed by Family. Jesus is betrayed by a close friend, and Ecclesiastes reminds us we all die in the end. Not exactly an encouraging episode. Genesis 26, Matthew 19, Ecclesiastes 6:1-4. We see Yahweh make Isaac wealthy. Jesus warns against holding onto wealth instead of following him. Ecclesiastes sees wealth as a vain pursuit. Do you see a theme?
