We explore the Horror genre and everything we love about it! Deep dives into sub genres, the VHS age, frequent guests, soundtracks, and the impact it has had on our lives.
Nathaniel Covington and Kenny Bond
We have been in a spooky slumber for far too long, thankfully we woke up just in time and for good reason...to chat with our friend Wolfe MacReady!!! Wolfe is a dear friend who LOVES horror.....so much in fact that they eat it, sleep it, write it, direct it, and do spfx make up! Super talented, creative, and always on the move Wolfe stops by for just a bit to talk about the newest project, Giving Up The Ghost and some other rad topics! Aaaaand without giving away anymore than that we dive right in! Give it a listen!
We explore the urban legend of the one and only CANDYMAN! Bernard Rose and Clive Barker set the stage in 1992 and Nia DeCosta and Jordan Peele fleshing out the entire journey for one of Horror's greatest slashers of all time!
We go creeping around the neighborhood with Ray Paterson and his gang to see what the new secretive neighbors are up to down in Mayfield place from 1989's The Burbs! This cult classic is high on our list of nostalgia and one liners! DIG IN!
A slight detour that we have promised for a minute.....we take a trip up north to explore the wild frontier of FARGO! Not the city, since nothing in this film has anything to do with it but instead the lives of our characters and how each navigate pride, money, and family matters.....
We took 2 months off but are back in 2023 with what maybe we would just call season 3? of AOCD and we get to sit down with Christian Fonseca! Also known as Fonz, he consumes as much if not more horror than Nathaniel.....whoa. We get him to talk about everything from A24, upcoming 2023 films, Saw, Donnie Darko, Scream, and so much more. Sit back and have a listen!
Sticking to the John Carpenter and Tom Atkins theme we move right into 1980's THE FOG! A slashy ghost tail based up in Northern California.....maybe not far from Santa Mira. We talk about John's crew getting together to continue their tear through the early 80s!
We will gush over the greatest greatest film of all time Halloween 3: Season of the Witch, well according to Nathaniel. We had a lot of fun with this one just talking about this one, we will just leave it at that...DIG IN!
We dive into Michael Doughtery's 2007 cult hit TRICK R TREAT on its 15 anniversary! One of us LOVES it and the other could care...less. Either way we had fun chatting up all the hidden gems and nodes through out! DIG IN!
We take a break from talking about a single movie to chat with Jesse and Brittany the amazing duo behind Nashville's newest and RADDEST VHS/Physical Media store! These two are doing something amazing with their store DANGER ZONE VIDEO. They have everything from classic wrestling Vhs' to deep cut Horror Blu Rays! We absolutely love what they are doing and know you all will too. We sat down to discuss their road to opening the store in August 2022 and their love for physical media.DIG IN!
IT FOLLOWS (2015), from David Robert Mitchell is a instant classic. A slow creeping journey through loss of youth, innocence, and relationships into the depths of death....wow lets dive in.....
Kenny is on vacation and Nathaniel is left to ramble on about Halloween for EP 24! WE promise, well one of us promise, he won't go to far off the rails. We will give you 14 films to watch over the next 14 weeks as well as some tips to get you one day closer to HALLOWEEN!
Ep 23 we fall into the sunken place created by, in our opinion one of the greatest director/writer's of the 00's...Jordan Peele's GET OUT! This movie will most definitely make every list of "top greatest horror films" moving forward after its debut in 2017. Peele's first crack at his own film was ground breaking in so many ways from social issues/commentary, suspense, and still hitting us with a dose of comedy....just enough to pull you down into the seat and start all over again. ENJOY!
WHAT'S YOUR DAMAGE HEATHER! In episode 22 we step into Veronica Sawyer's dark world at Westerburg High. Heathers became a horror cult classic of the lat 80s as THE answer all the happy go lucky Hughes films. We are joined by Irene to discuss and dissect! Enjoy....
Regardless of what you may think we are logging 1984's Terminator under the horror umbrella. A full on death machine travels back in time to change the course of the future. A futuristic slasher? Yea we think so.
Our unofficial part 2 in our "Two Tales" series of episodes we dig up Tales From The Darkside! We talk origins, movie spinoffs, our favorite episodes, and a look at the great folks that put this series together! This one made it easy to talk George Romero and Stephen King along with other horror greats.
We have mapped out a two parter for you to hit 20 episodes! We will tell the tales of two horror classics Tales from the Crypt and Tales from the Darkside....first we will dig up the Crypt Keeper!!! We talk through origins in the comic book order, action figures, spin-offs, our favorite episode, and more!
We sat down with our good friend and fellow podcaster Pat Artus (The Quick Sixer) to discuss Scream 5 and the rest of the series (SPOILERS EVERYWHERE). We had A LOT of fun with this and will probably have him on quite a few more times. All that said in this episode we let Pat do most of the work on giving us his take and all the cool callbacks, tidbits, and easter eggs for Scream 5...ENJOY!
1985 gave us a very special collaboration between Lamberto Bava, Dario Argento, and 3-4 other dudes... DEMONS! This film just gets right to the point, no time or reason to develop a story or the characters in it. This one is all about heavy metal, crazy special effects, and a whole lot of screaming. Join us as we try to make sense of it all, as long time fans we attempt to piece together where these guys were going with all of this.
For episode 16 we explore 2021's THE NIGHT HOUSE! A ghost story? Serial Killer? Or is Beth just stricken with grief? We discuss....a little but really just want to set you up so that you view it for yourself. This one is less about holding your hand through it and more about prepping you for a solid dreadful, depressing, spooky, yet some how good time.
WE ARE BACK! We inadvertently ended season one and took a break during Dec. 2020. There were jobs to be done, covid to run from, and films to be watched. We begin our second season with 1996's SCREAM! It is fitting we start January 2022 with it as its newest installment simply known as Scream 2022 is entered into the film series. We dive into 90's nostalgia, Wes Craven, and all the things we loved about the OG Scream and give you some details maybe you didn't know about it along the way.ENJOY!
We welcome our first guest to the show, writer/director Chad Crawford Kinkle! I (Nathaniel) had the pleasure of connecting with Chad through geeking out on skateboarding and our love for horror a few yers back! As soon we knew we'd be doing this podcast we had to have him on! Chad has 2 amazing films Jug Face and the recently released Dementer we will discuss along with so much more! DIG IN!
OH YES! We just skipped right over Night and Dawn and into the "boring, drawn out, crawling" 1985 classic Day of the Dead. The ONLY thing that is crawling and drawn out in this film, in our opinion, is the zombies! We are huge fans of it and we will be doing our best to sway you if your not! Join us as we talk REAL rotten intestines, 1980s politics, the best damn SPFX ever created, and more! CHOKE ON EMMMMMMM!
We cover a variety of topics in this episode ranging from our thoughts on Halloween Kills, theories, Western State, ghost stories, and more! We are all over the place in this one!
Episode 11 we offer up the perfect stew of all the worst things that can happen to a person....isolated during a pandemic, only having zoom to see your friends, scared of a virus, and oh yeah a demonic force that can jump through tech? Here we go with Rob Savage's HOST! We don't give away too much in this one, just getting you primed for your own personal viewing.
We decided to leave the 80s for just a moment......to find an a film to drop us right back in there. THE HOUSE OF THE DEVIL puts you right into the midst of the Satanic Panic and isolates you and Samantha from the world in the creepiest old house. The only thing we have to do is eat bad pizza, get pulled through the house by an amazingly scary subtle soundtrack, and at times dance around to the Fixx....HERE WE GO!
In episode 9 we talk through the summer of 85's surprise horror hit....FRIGHT NIGHT! We laugh our way though the one-liners, amazing special effects, and pleated pants. We get into the background of how the film worked in elements Stephen Kings Salem Lot, Holland's jaded view of the industry at the time which paid off big, and much more. ENJOY!
We wrap up our Friday the 13th voyage on this great holiday with parts 3 & 4. We had so much fun talking Disco Jason, merchandise, muddled time lines, Joe Zito being a disturbed man, and more! We had a lot of fun with this series.
We are approaching FRIDAY THE 13th this month so it is only fitting we explore some of the franchises films. We start off with pts 1 & 2 in this episode. We talk Kevin Bacon, Tom Savini, final girls, and a whole lot of confusion in time lines! Join in for a lot of fun and laughs about one of the genres greats!
We have somewhat of a bite sized episode in the sense that we give you some suggested viewing leading up to Halloween! Enjoy!

Some how we narrowed down 3 hours of us geeking out on this movie into an hour so enjoy!
