A Terceira Seção do Superior Tribunal de Justiça fixou seis teses sobre o reconhecimento de suspeitos, com base no artigo 226 do Código de Processo Penal. A primeira tese estabelece que as regras desse artigo são obrigatórias tanto na fase do inquérito quanto em juízo. Se não forem seguidas, a prova de reconhecimento é inválida e não pode embasar condenação, prisão preventiva, recebimento de denúncia ou pronúncia.A segunda tese exige que, durante o reconhecimento, o suspeito seja colocado ao lado de pessoas semelhantes. Caso não haja indivíduos com características físicas semelhantes, uma diferença muito acentuada pode comprometer a credibilidade da prova.A terceira tese determina que o reconhecimento é um ato irrepetível. Um procedimento inicialmente falho pode contaminar a memória do reconhecedor, mesmo que uma nova tentativa siga todas as regras.Na quarta tese, ficou definido que o juiz pode reconhecer a autoria com base em provas independentes do reconhecimento viciado. A quinta tese exige que até o reconhecimento pessoal válido esteja em harmonia com outras provas do processo. Já a sexta tese diz que o procedimento formal não é necessário quando a pessoa reconhecida já era conhecida anteriormente pelo depoente.Essas teses foram fixadas em julgamento realizado sob o rito dos recursos repetitivos, Tema 1.258. Isso significa que agora, elas vão orientar os demais tribunais do país, quando julgarem casos semelhantes. O relator, ministro Reynaldo Soares da Fonseca, destacou que o entendimento anterior do STJ, que via o artigo 226 como recomendação, foi superado. Agora, o cumprimento das formalidades é essencial para garantir precisão e evitar erros causados por falhas de memória, traumas e estereótipos. O objetivo, segundo o ministro, é melhorar a qualidade da investigação criminal e a confiabilidade da justiça, e não dificultar a atividade policial.

Emma Raducanu impressed against Marketa Vondrousova, but what chance does she have against Aryna Sabalenka? We also talk about a strong performance from Madison Keys, Matt's getting excited and nervous about Amanda Anisimova's draw, and we cover disappointment for Boulter who once again lost a match at Wimbledon when she was the favourite. In part 2 (40m34s) we look at the men's draw, which has opened up further with the loss of Frances Tiafoe to a revitalised Cameron Norrie, and Lehecka to an inspired Bellucci. Liver cancer, especially hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), remains a major health concern worldwide. In Latin America, the situation becomes more difficult due to limited access to advanced treatments and the high prevalence of underlying liver diseases. A recent research paper, published in Volume 16 of Oncotarget by researchers from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, and Colombia, offers valuable insights into how patients in the region respond to a widely used immunotherapy regimen. This real-world study explores both the effectiveness of treatment and the risks of immune-related side effects. Understanding Hepatocellular Carcinoma: Why It is So Difficult to Treat Hepatocellular carcinoma is often diagnosed at an advanced stage and frequently occurs in people with pre-existing liver conditions such as cirrhosis. Standard treatments like surgery or local therapies are not always possible in these cases. In recent years, the combination of two drugs—atezolizumab and bevacizumab—has shown promise in extending survival. However, most of the evidence comes from controlled clinical trials that may not represent the realities faced by healthcare providers and patients in Latin America. The Study: Immunotherapy for Hepatocellular Carcinoma in Latin America In a multicenter study titled “Immune-mediated adverse events following atezolizumab and bevacizumab in a multinational Latin American cohort of unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma,” led by Leonardo Gomes da Fonseca from Hospital das Clínicas, Universidade de São Paulo, Brazil, and Federico Piñero from Hospital Universitario Austral, Argentina, researchers aimed to fill that gap. The study included 99 patients with advanced HCC from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, and Colombia. All patients received the combination of atezolizumab and bevacizumab. The main objectives were to assess how frequently immune-related side effects, known as immune-related adverse events (irAEs), occurred and whether these events affected overall survival.
